techno workout on noise engineering basimilus iteritas alia
มุมมอง 5112 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
BLVCKFUSE | incus iteritas alia flashed as basimilus iteritas alia. i ran thru all the variations and lastly flashing incus firmware as a BIA. i now know what all the hype is about. what a crazy flexible voice! last thing i was expecting was to make housey techno chords on a @noiseeng industrial voice module... yet here we are :D bia playing quite nicely w/the verbose complex oscillator and eri...

examining INCUS ITERITAS ALIA as an fm bass in a techno patch
มุมมอง 8214 วันที่ผ่านมา
the @NoiseEngineering incus makes an excellent full voice bass module. it has the ability to seep into many territories, but i was interested to try it as a bass module after watching @RedMeansRecording demo: th-cam.com/video/eZ1GSNck_oQ/w-d-xo.html it truly does an incredible job serving as a bassline voice when in 'heavy' mode. you can downtune it in either mode and get basses, but this parti...
polyrhythmic techno via gamut repetitor
มุมมอง 275หลายเดือนก่อน
while @noiseeng gamut repetitor is wildly capable of melodic mayhem, it also serves as an ingenious tool for building simple polyrhythmic loops and applying subtle variations thru buildups. it's a lot of fun to go off and riff with, but so rewarding for my needs once i learned to tame the chaos and work with it harmoniously. it's ultra musical by nature but you can get nice rhythmic dissonance ...
BLVCKFUSE | ATOUSA tracking modular techno in real time
มุมมอง 673 หลายเดือนก่อน
the BLVCKFUSE sound comes from live takes of modular techno patches. when combining machine like digitakt, which outputs a stereo signal of multiple tracks, the end results can be more challenging to achieve a desirable mix. not always the case, but this one's a fairly busy track. had a rough version of this and glad i took some time away from the video, as i'm much happier w/this mix. maybe no...

minimal electro groove on the eurorack system

if i could remember what i patched i'd tell you. erica synths modules: fusion vco2 x 2, polivoks vcf2, fusion vca2, black dual eg/lfo, drum sequencer, bassdrum2, hi-hats-d, drum mixer, LXR module, black LPG, black mute mixer. other: wmd mscl comp x2, ne librae legio. a little ride cymbal help from digitakt, if i remember correctly.
fleshing out new material for GHOST OF HEARTS
มุมมอง 896 หลายเดือนก่อน
our first EP was comprised of a variety of origins; some tracks being processed thru the modular as inserts, for example, sampling every lyric and running it thru erica synths sample-drum to utilize it's distortion. running the bassloop out the sunroof in a mall parking garage at 3am and capturing the reverb, processing elements in countless ways. so to say the modular was not involved in the m...
downtempo on ERICA SYNTHS modular system | LXR | MUTANT HOT GLUE | BASSDRUM | HIHATS-D | FUSIONVCO2
มุมมอง 1616 หลายเดือนก่อน
BASSDRUM, HIHATS-D & LXR drums slammed thru MUTANT HOT GLUE. two fusion VCO2 drones to dual-fx respective channels, modulated by one lfo, both channels recorded in dual mono, creating a stereo phasing effect for the drums to fight thru. between camera battery, forgetting to arm one track and other mishaps this had to be the 5th take and i was dialed in by this point, so in the end i'm happy wit...
eurorack techno workout on custom erica synths black/fusion/techno system

drums are bassdrum, hi-hats-d, LXR. processed thru hexinverter mutant hot glue, wmd mscl comps, and one librae legio on the bassdrum. i find sending the digital percussion of LXR thru analog compressors, eqs, etc. and the analog bassdrum thru the digital compression of librae, to be the perfect balance. here in this session, things aren't getting too dirty, so it's good to showcase the mutant h...
techno session feat. MUTANT HOT GLUE from ERICA SYNTHS x HEXINVERTER
มุมมอง 3656 หลายเดือนก่อน
was so happy to receive the new MUTANT HOT GLUE from ERICA SYNTHS x HEXINVERTER. my drum section consists of erica bassdrum hi-hats-d from their technosystem, plus their LXR module inspiring many patches and handling countless rhythmic duties. for me the LXR serves as fm digital metallic percussion in most instances. so bringing the mutant hot glue into the rack forced the drum mixer and dual e...

melodic eurorack triphop patch on erica synths modular synth
👍
Nice jam! I've been thinking about using a Gamut Rep to sequence a Dixie II and a Bastl Pizza to replace the Quadrantid Swarm in my modular techno setup. Your video certainly gave me some ideas! Thanks! :)
my only issue is it's inability to save a state. basically, you turn the dial to the right, it generates randomness. turn it left and it loops that state, from there you can adjust the switches and length. but if you bring the dial to the right, you lose the entire sequence and it generates more randomness. lets say you get an idea going and it's 4am. you want to power down and record it tomorrow, you cannot. so as much fun as it is i prefer the opp ned for the duties i've set out on. it's worth it, but important to realize this. for some this may not matter. but my idea is using it as a bassline seq. what i love is the ideas it spits out, so it's making these two melodic and bassline voices go, in key w/one another. w/opp ned, you're able to generate a sick arpeggio and decide what notes it is allowed to play and which not. only missing a slew otherwise that 8hp module is an underappreciated beast. you don't know you need an arpeggiator eurorack module til you have one. and although i haven't touched the wmd, i theoretically prefer opp ned, for its ability to dial in a set of notes extremely easily on the fly whereas the wmd has set scales. i'm mostly looking for this sound here, able to tell it to play the root, tritone, octave, so i use this for such a simple thing i want it to eat up as little hp as possible. i had fun w/gamut, but for a more permanent solution, i do believe i'll be reincorporating opp ned. i like that once the scale you build is set, you can then determine it's spread, direction, etc, and these can be modulated via cv. so, pretty much endless improvised techno fun waiting to be had, w/control over variations in a super intuitive way. power down and it'll save that state. just wish it had gate per step it outputs, but besides slew/gate i felt it was the perfect utility to get jams like this going.
oh and i haven't messed w/dixie or pizza, but i've heard good things about them. the intellijel quad vca has an amazing sound, i'm interested in messing w/their amps 6hp dual vca, or the other dual vca which is simply 1/2 of the quad. i think them and noise engineering are both in a very favorable stage of refinement at the moment.
Dig this.

that is the photo of you i've ever seen
Yo, love the Daughters shirt. Finding fans of them feels impossible lol
having worked w/lex as my manager and sam a co-worker at newbury, i can safely say he isn't even a fraction of the monster he's been portrayed as. a sarcastic, witty, facetious bastard? absolutely. do people get into drugs as a result of abusive upbringing and misdirect their hostility when intoxicated? yes. do people grow and has he for several years been doing everything in his power to evolve into a sober, wholesome and optimal version of himself for the selfless sake of his kids? yup. is he a good person underneath? without a doubt. they don't deserve what they're going thru. the person who initiated it, it isn't her first rodeo. it's sad some people will go out of their way to destroy a person they once loved in a selfish pursuit of elevating their own name. it's trending, it's the empty calories of popularity. find a catalyst, blame your entire life on a few negative aspects of their behaviour, get a key to the city. this is coming from me, wearing a ring that says feminist as fuck, me who had to convince my ex to file a report when she was d r u g g e d and r a p e d, me a person who's experienced a wide array of abuse in my upbringing and carrying into later years. me, a non/flamboyant but feminine as hell dude who thinks there's a lot wrong w/the male population. me, a fucking empath who couldn't fathom the notion of inserting myself into any woman who's body i haven't made oral love to and isn't begging for me inside her... just how i'm wired and a testimony to the notion that i find r a p e disgusting and cannot comprehend how anyone could enjoy that. in other words the things being said about him are severely exaggerated and those in support against him love to pride themselves on being all about loving all people equally, yet won't consider the mental abuse my homie is suffering. it particularly pisses me off knowing just how fucking hard it is to rise to that level beginning in providence having everything imaginable working against them. people are drawn to the most convenient truth. a young woman i worked with at another record shop recently was all appalled when i played a manson album. i brought up the fact that one of the five original accusers went on live radio for over an hour explaining in detail that the entire thing was a hoax designed by the main accuser. she wasted no time and blurted out something about how "they paid her to say it" an absolutely ridiculous and baseless presumption. i later mentioned how melanie martinez was accused by a girl on the internet of r a p e, wasting no time again she told me "the girl later said it wasn't true". side note: i believe melanie martinez and marilyn manson are both innocent easy targets. it's about ulterior motives, as no amount of healing from alleged traumas would be achieved thru ruining someone's music career. additionally, on a more positive note: back a bunch if yrs ago, i rehearsed w/the band to play keys on unattractive portable head at their reunion show, after nick came to my studio and taught me the arrangement, and we built synth voices for it. but plans changed last min and lex dislocated his arm into the second song. eddie from an albatross took over vocals. i randomly met their band in florida one night when i missed my plane then ended up moving to philadelphia where they're from, hahah. hopefully you were able to catch them live. there's nothing like their live sets. finally have all four LP's and looking for the cassettes and self titled EP pre canada songs. they deserve everything they worked for. they paved the way for so many other artists including the one turning against them. glad to see someone else of a similar school of thought. as they say in the YWGWYW streets: "here's to celebrity fulfillment!"
Fire! ❤
Thanks for putting the sound design in the description. That's good karma
hell yes. happy to share the discoveries. if i tap into a thing then i want to know others can use it and put their own spin on it. maybe i'll hear it without knowing later. no need to gatekeep, even i cannot replicate what happened here. it's eurorack and has a mind of its own; the patch rarely ever is quite the same the next day if powered down. your ears hear it different and your gain structure gets disoriented, etc. no two takes are the same, so we might as well patch and tweak and share🤘🏼#sharingiscaring
