I think Yoda and Obi-wan should have taken sidious together but considering how many Jedi had already been killed, I can see why Yoda insisted on Obiwan going straight to Anakin and leaving himself to take on Sidious.
Yoda is the only Jedi capable of catching up to sidious in terms of speed and the power of the force

People are absolutely overthinking this. This is not a power or skill comparison between Obi Wan and Palpatine. This is just a different timeline where Obi Wan went for Palpatine instead of Yoda Of course Obi Wan would get destroyed. Forms don’t really matter imo.
They matter more especially if someone really mastered a form. Palpatine somewhat "mastered" all forms, even tho he specialized in form 7 juyo, where as obi wan specialized in form 3. Palpatines mastery of form 3 doesnt come near obi wans mastery, the same applies for the other way around. ofc force wise obi wan will utterly loose :)
@@talnomix3164 I think this all comes down to the context of whenever we are talking about Canon or Legends. There's just a lot more that goes into the Legends material than to the Canon. I do think that when we are talking about Canon material, then sure, forms can be the determinant factor in duels and will actually matter more. In Legends? Not really. The usage of force is highly increased in duels. A lot of people use Battle Meditation. Obi-Wan actually taught Luke Force Speed to make his reactions during Duel faster, etc. Keep in mind that being the best at certain Form, doesn't mean you're the best duelist in general. Palpatine mastering all forms just means Obi-Wan would get stomped not only in force, but in Dueling as well. At Mustafar, Anakin was defeated by his own arrogance and ego rather than Obi-Wan's form, have those factors were not in play, Obi-Wan's dead and would never raise Luke to be a Jedi.

Ha Obi Wan wouldn't stand a chance with only the force to deflect Sidious lightning. He's not nearly as strong as Yoda in that area. But fun video.
He would stand a chance but if he gets disarmed itll be over, he could escape with force speed. But for sure in a battle only with the force, obi wan doesnt stand a chance in winning
@@talnomix3164 He might last for a while in a lightsaber duel, and manage to deflect the lightning, but I doubt he'd ever stand a real chance of winning. Lets not forget Sidious has master all 7 forms of Lightsaber Combat, and his preferred form is Juyo which is strong against Soresu. Sure Obi Wan is THE master of Soresu but even so he'd probably have like a 1/10 chance if that. But knowing Palpatine he'd just overwhelm Obi Wan's force shield in nothing flat.

Although I don’t Think Obi wan would essentially defeat Sidious His Mastery of Form 3 Soresu Would protect him from every Strike and blow That Sidious threw at him he could hold off his Attacks Sure But for how long is the question
He'd only be delaying the inevitable with Sidious. Not to mention that Sidious was there when Obi-Wan and Anakin fought Dooku. So he may have seen a few ways around Obi-Wan's Soresu style.
@@99thJediWarrior Yeah fr I mean I’m not saying Obi wan Could defeat him Because he just couldn’t he was Not good enough He wasn’t on the level of Mace Windu or Yoda however He was THE master of Form 3 Soresu he mastered it To its highest level Completely leaving nothing out There was nothing more he needed to learn From Form 3 After he Mastered it hence why he was so Proficient and achieved full mastery of the style so Even tho For a Short Temporary Period He could Definitely go Toe to Toe with Sidious He wouldn’t outright defeat him Like Windu Did Hell no

that’s debatable he wasn’t conflicted with emotions like he was against obi wan and nick gillard ranked anakin/palps and mace as equals in rots. They were supposedly all 9s.
If Anakin had actually won, he would have risen from the Jedi Order to Jedi Master. :)

@@TheChosenWank yeah in terms of raw power the book mentions he overwhelmed Dooku by sheer force power. It was beyond anything Dooku could imagine and he was easily subdued. Im pretty sure Palps could have felt that raw power to
