This is a th350 transmission with a transbrake.
This is literally THE BEST sounding L6 engine I’ve ever heard!!! Much respect!
my blinkers just got fixed and now they stop working again i also have this problem with the light im going to check it out
I just finished a 24 hours of Lemons with a 1978 280ZX. The major issue we had was with the front brakes. Any additional information on the brackets, parts and experience to date will be appreciated.
I never finished this. 4 lug z31 rotors might help though

A regrind from delta. I didn't get a cam card so might not be able to duplicate it.
@@skirkland1980 I'm running ms2, t3/t4, 650 inj, optical dizzy. I guess I'm just getting too old, I've been working on this car since 2012 and I've only driven it once. I can't get the tune right. I'm rewiring it now, making it all plug and play with correctly color coded wires. Upgrading the ms2 for running the turbo and fuel pump. Then it's off to the paint shop.

@@ramonortiz6995 my friend and I run a speed shop with a dyno. You're close enough you could bring the car up or I could come get it. Megasquirt is one of my specialties.

The bearing manufacturer have it in print if you look it up ,2 o'clock , and 10/2 real easy to find on the net , lined up can actually starve the bearings. I would clean the block up before cam bearings
So what is the secret when the hub in frozen in place on a big truck?
If the hub absolutely will not come off you can cut it off and had a new axle tube end welded on. Or could be cheaper to find a used one.
@@skirkland1980 What we ended up doing was remove the 4 bolts that hold the adjuster to the back side of hub. This took enough pressure off that we could pound the brake drum off. slow going but it did come off. The other side was not so bad. It came off by hand once we unbolted the adjuster. The shoes had rusted solid to the pivot pins. We could only move them with a 6 foot pry bar.

Yes. Only porting done was to match intake ports to the manifold.

Question: The results of the side to side cam pad differences are they caused by lash pad rocker follower unevenness since you measured with the lash pad follower being pushed down? Are the results a combination of both cam pad & lash pad follower unevenness or just the cam pad? I'm assuming an uneven surface on the lash pad follower will show up on the cam pad side to side measurement as a high/low result as measured in your fashion. In other words is the measurement of the cam pad true.
The tip (valve end) was uneven. It was so bad I didn't need to measure it I could see it.

@@erickarambula3494 oh yeah it was just hanging down. My neighbor was complaining was the only reason I put that on. I couldn't run it underneath because of the ladder bars. Neighbor is no longer around so now it's just a little pipe that exits behind the front tire.
@@skirkland1980 makes sense haha i wouldn't put an exhaust after hearing it straight haha. I want to build my own im looking for cams and vavle springs recommendations. The hard part is finding a good enough body.

What's the cam timing that you're using and does that have a stock cam? I have to admit I didn't do the cam timing when I put my came in and just put it straight up. It'll rev to alittle over 6k but it doesn't like it. I'm thinking I need to degree the cam and probably retard it a bunch.
It's a really big isky cam. I think its in hole #1. I have the rev limiter at 7500rpm but it'll pull forever. A stock cam is done at 6k.
@@skirkland1980 the cam I'm running is 460 lift 240 and 230 duration @.50 114 lobe angle. I don't drag race but I do a bunch of open lapping and track days. I was hoping it would pull hard up at 6800-7000 but it's falling off and I feel like I'm forcing it @6k.
I'm running mid 11 to high 11 afr's and the ignition timing around 18 degrees 17psi. If you don't mind me asking what fuel and ignition timing are you running. I'm using 93 octane and water meth with a really small water meth injector.... I think it's around 280cc.
@@alltheboost5363 I'm running 23psi and 17 degrees timing e85. My afrs are a little rich like 10s. We found it made more power on the dyno being that rich.
She was truckin’ when the turbo lit off! 100mph is strong! I wouldn’t be surprised to see mid to low 10’s in the quarter with a good 60ft!

The 1981 280ZX Turbo would be alot faster then the 1982 or 83.
Do you have an explanation for your theory?
Yes, the 1981 Turbo is the fastest version of the 280ZX because its the lighter weight then the 82 and 83 and it has lighter wheels with an automatic transmission.
What were the results?
It finally made 465whp. I think there's a boost leak because boost should have been 30psi but was only 23psi.

@@fotsaus stock internal L28et with the exception of fasteners, cam, and valve springs.

What did it run?
that run was 7.28@108. Traction was an issue. Normally 108mph would be low 6.
@@skirkland1980 I've only run my my z once or one event... then kicked me out. Lol 😆 I was using 225 50 16 Toyo ra1's. Which are not a drag racing tire. I normally go to the road course. I did a 12.9 @117... 13.1 the run before it. I spin bad and soon as the power would come on.... it would just spin. I started getting Traction about half way through 3rd. I'm pretty sure that's why they kick me out cuz it just spun all crazy and it makes all the turbo noises. I'm pretty sure with some slicks. I could easily drop a second. But then most likely the diff would explode. Lol

Thank you for making the video. I had a Ford Edis 6 Ring mounted on a performance underdrive pulley from zcarparts.com it was $120 one. It lasted a decade but the ring was pressed fit on to the pulley and since the rubber liner took a s***. I don't ever want to have to worry about a rubber one braking and I'm upgrading to an ATI. What are the odds I literally find another person with the exact same engine and a Ford Edis on megasquirt... it's a small world.

@@skirkland1980 same here I use it as an RPM signal. I'm using a 6al to cap and rotor.
Did you need a longer crank Bolt... I was reading the reviews at Summit and they said they needed an M16 x 1.50x 50 mm did you use the stock crank bolt or did you get a upgraded one?
Oh and if you have the old analog 6L box... keep it do not upgrade to the new digital box. I've melted like for distributor caps. they up the voltage and it's a little too much I think.
@@alltheboost5363 I used a longer bolt. I think it was 50mm, I cant remember. I just used one from fastenal.
