The new colored lighting on the Derby-Shelton Bridge has been turned on. The new lighting emphasizes the beautiful arch structure of the bridge which opened in 1918 and was refurbished in 2024.

On May 6, 2023, the eight new members of the Derby Athletic Hall of Fame were introduced to the public and presented with Hall of Fame jackets prior to the Ansonia-Derby baseball game at the spectacular J.R. Payden Field in Derby. Technical problems make for poor quality in the audio.

Each year, the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club assists senior citizens in Derby and Shelton by delivering buckets of sand that they can use on their sidewalks and driveways during snow and ice incidents. This year buckets were delivered to 125 homes in the two towns.
