Will it be owned by Chiltern railway?
What opperrater stops there?
will be served by Chiltern
Great video, Andy, captures the size of the area, and the potential for a large Country Park perfectly, as well as showing how close it is to the new developments of Glebe Farm and Eagle Farm, as well as the established settlements of Cross End and Wavendon.
We have a new build in Wavendon Eagles's Rest site that is due for completion at the end of July. Would you mind taking a drone to the site so that we can see the progress of our plot?
Just saying you need to keep the fish in the water when you are reeling the fish in
Ah, Buckinghamshire in the USA? I think you mean Winslow Railway Station.
Sorted...
Taking into account the prevailing weather in this country why is that new stations are built without covered platforms?
Incredibly bland, it will date very quickly and need replacing. At least the Victorians had style and built things to last.
Only to be pull down in the 20th century by the name of Doctor Beeching.
So why not continue the overbridge all the way to the other embankment ? So if you use the footpath on the southern side and want to get to the eastbound platform, you have to walk down the steps on the embankment, up the steps of the footbridge then down the steps to the platform or if your in a wheelchair or pushing a pushchair walk past the station over the road bridge and in that way.
I think the embankment steps are simply emergency access. Public access to the station appears to be purely via the new station building, where a gate line will probably be. A second entrance would require card readers and, if gated, staffing. For reasons of revenue protection, reduction in crime and vandalism and construction cost, I can see why there is only one way in and out for passengers.
Belive testing on the line should begin within the next couple months using Chiltern class 168s
When is it due to open??
the line between Oxford and Bletchley is due to open to passenger trains early next year (allowing time to fit signalling and other systems, as well as training drivers on the route)- unless there are unforeseen delays I assume Winslow will open with the rest of the line
@@MercenaryPen ok thanks 👍
@@MercenaryPen I'm so looking forward to travelling to Oxford from Bedford by train and avoiding the long coach trip which been bugging me for some years now, Hopefully fingers cross the line reaches Cambridge. Disable guy base in North Hertfordshire.
Believe it or not, it's the Tories MP for Bedford who's trying to put his spanner in the works to try and stop Bedford to Cambridge say about the cost of the new route and the people who live along the new route it's the same old story everyone wants the railway but not near there homes😊,@@scottpeacock5492
Looks almost finished and ready for trains
Belive testing on the line should begin within the next couple months
No sound??
Correct. Drones don’t typically have sound.
@@fly164 you could have put a soundtrack to the video or it makes for a very boring watch
No sound or narration or explaining ?
What do you need, Choo choo noises? It’s a railway line. Pls see description.
@@fly164 Some explanation of the location maybe what direction etc etc !
@@Sam_Green____4114 ok. Point taken and noted.
You were lucky to be behind the car when they activated the martinshorn
I notice a number of level crossings on this line have been closed and the road rerouted over or under as appropriate.
I am thinking that the construction of new level crossings (including reopened railways) is largely prohibited, but not blanket. In exceptional cases, construction of new level crossings may be permitted, subject to certain cases.
The running speed along this line is 100 mph. Not useful for level crossings.
@@ds1868 How’s does one work that out? There’s plenty of level crossings on the ECML where the linespeed is 100mph+.
are those walls sound barriers? If they are are they there at the request of the home owners because I think they look quite ugly and I'd prefer the occasional train noise to the permanent eyesore.
Great drone footage and amazing views. 👍👍👍Thanks for sharing. Subbed and Liked. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the sub!
it’s called a martinhorn, four horns 2 and 2 go in sequence to create the typically english sounding “two tone” effect
Even on a re-build railway they still bits of scrap lying around. Can't the crews tidy up.
Well known for leaving scrap and junk lying around is the railway !Always has been . Also known as ammunition for vandals !
2:10 And the signals are on! Its really happening! Does anyone know what rolling stock Chiltern will use? Loco hauled or the TurboStars?
They are meant to be Class 196 DMUs leased from West Midlands Trains.
Can you do one on the new station at winslow?
I’ll go and give it a go at some point. Sure 😉

@@fly164 I actually made a donation to another channel to film it but he stuck it on his members only channel and I told him the last thing I would do would be to give my bank details away to yt and goggle. I did that once with the council, SSE and BT and they just treated it as an open opportunity to help themselves to my bank balance. Thanks for making the footage freely available. Do you live in Winslow? I bet a lot of people there are excited about the new station.
The germans do build , reinstate good railways ..... thank you .....
The area where the two lines split was that a station from the past, your drone work brilliant,
Originally both lines ran through the centre arch. The two outer ones being supporting arches only. They just cleared one arch out in order to slew one track through. Must be a reason but apparently there was never a station at that location, or so I was told. JG.
@@railfreightdrivergallagherGBRf did you know that queen victoria had a train run every day with milk from swanbourn every day at 8 30 in the morning,
Could be something to do with the former Swanbourne sidings? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swanbourne_railway_station
@@bringingverneyjunctionback9642 did Verney junction have a line go to Buckingham if so there's a line that should be put back as it's now a growing town,
If that line was going to be high volume traffic I could understand to some extent the sound barrier but this line is not a high speed main line.Personally I'd prefer a view of the railway rather than that ugly fence.
Who cares , that's bletchley/ milton Keynes area .... ha ha ha 😊😮😂...
Maybe because the line is not electrified? Also even a car doing 40 is quite loud.
Main use will also be freight using powerful diesel locos. Diesel freight trains are very loud. This is the main reason for the fencing.
Not to mention that UK (maybe except Northern Ireland) requires fencing on its railways (even on quiet rural branch lines) which has been in place since the 19th century.
That's a really long and high sound barrier wall opposite the housing, I understand why it is there but it must be very visible and ugly from the houses. Maybe there will be some tree planting adjacent to it.
Bushes perhaps but trees and railways aren't the best of friends.
If one watches cab rides from Europe - especially NL, D and CH - there are kilometres of acoustic barriers. Many of them include natural elements with well managed hedges and creeper covered fences and frames. Why the monochrome panels? Many European installations have colour variations (like many modern warehouse buildings) and even clear panels to allow view of and from the trains. Something of the great British lack of imagination on display here. I agree about the relationship between railways and trees …. Again many European routes - especially in CH - have signs of much greater tree management with 10-15 metres or so of the running lines.
Main reason is to protect sound from diesel freight trains.

I'm so used to the ambulances that if there isn't any I can't sleep so thanks for this.

We all really enjoyed it, pleased you enjoyed it too 👍
I can confirm they are too noisey, everyte i wait on a light and sirene drives thru i cover my ears... it's too loud
Bro it’s a siren it’s supposed to be loud so cars and people can hear it and move out the way so it can get to the emergency and plus it’s another country their siren is different it could have been less noisy but they chose to make it loud, oh well.
"Berlin, Germany - Ambulance Siren Very Noisy " Yeah they're supposed to be noisy duhh, if not they'd be pointless! Lol
