    How many attempts can we take in our lifetime altogether for NPTE?

    Hi, I wanted to ask If it's possible for a foreigner to try this exam in US when I finish my bachelor's degree? Or do I have to do doctorate program in US in order to try this exam? Because where I live there's only bachelor's degree in physical therapy so I guess it's overall the same level of knowledge, we just have to make it quicker.

    • @ashleyegbo-olateru3130
      @ashleyegbo-olateru3130 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’d have to go through an accreditation process (which can take up to 2 years) where they look at your pre requisites and the classes you’ve taken and they compare it to a DPT program here in the states. If there are missing classes or topics from your program, then they’ll make you take those classes here in the states to compensate for the difference. So that your degree will equate to a DPT degree here in the states. I hope that makes sense. But no, you can’t be a licensed PT here in the states with just a bachelor’s degree.

    I am a late bloomer and about to take my first npte later this month, due previous traumas i have experienced in the PT program, didnt really fit in with my classmates and then my program decided to flunk me during 2020 spent 4 yrs in the program and didnt graduated til last spring, carrying all that baggage and ive been postponing the exam until now, even now when i study i dont feel any progression and retention. Feel my life is on hold and I am embarrassed to even talk to my friends and peers, i dont go out because i dont have any money and just really feeling like im in a rut where nothing is progressing everyone i know is doing well with their profession and lovelife , i got none , sorry Ashley to be ranting on your comment section really need to vent

      I’m so sorry Li. I understand this feeling especially the wanting to go out but having no income. But the only way to change your story is seeing how bad you want to change your story. If you want to be sad about it forever, then stay where you are in fear. Don’t pursue your career as a PT. But if you want a different narrative, overcome that fear by really really understanding the study material and crushing the NPTE. Use all these resources and also find someone you can study with that’s way smarter than you so you can ask questions in person. You got this 💪🏾

    Thank You.Your testimony is so important I cry every day because of this exam. It will be my first attempt and fear of taking so little to the point of not being able to do it again. I take a preparatory course and I am graduated in Brazil. It seems so impossible to get through, so many things that I never feel ready even though I started a few months ago. Well technically I prepared for October, but the fear is still very big.

    • @ashleyegbo-olateru3130
      @ashleyegbo-olateru3130 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I completely understand. I would say do not take the exam if you have a fear that is going to cause you to be a poor test taker. You may know all the information but if you’re not confident going in, the anxiety and fear will make you forget stuff that you have studies for years. So I would say focus on your mental well being first before even tackling the exam. Focus on breathing tactics and also get more confident with the subjects that you feel you are “weaker” in. Once you can get to a point where the idea of taking the exam doesn’t terrify your, then you’re ready to take it. You should be at a place where you’re kind of excited to take it because you know for a fact that you’re confident with all the information you’ve studied. And the best way to get there is to keep practicing. Take practice exams and also mimic the test environment as much as you can.

    • @ashleyegbo-olateru3130
      @ashleyegbo-olateru3130 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try to carve out 5-6 hours of your day and prepare each practice exam as if you’re taking the real one. Put headphones over your ears, sit at a desk in a closed off area. Turn your phone off. Put all your reading material away and also take breaks the exact same way you would in the exam. Take the practice exam at the same time you would take the real exam. The more you practice the routine, the easier it will be on the actual exam day.

    • @ashleyegbo-olateru3130
      @ashleyegbo-olateru3130 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really hope that helps. You are more than capable of passing this exam. Don’t let the fear cripple you from getting to your end goal. YOU GOT THIS☺️

    My question is where can I get access to regular practice PEAT vs retired PEAT? Can you please answer that question? Do I need to buy a book to get access to these retired PEAT questions?

    • @ashleyegbo-olateru3130
      @ashleyegbo-olateru3130 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!!! And you get both when you purchase them from the FSBPT website. So when you buy the package, one is retired and one is the regular practice one. And you take both of them at different times. I recommend taking the practice inflow first like in the beginning of your studies to see where you are if you’d take the exam right now. And then that shows you where to study more and what your weaknesses are. And then take the retired one closer to September to mimick how you’ll take it in October. That way if you’re still struggling in an area, you have about a month to master it.

    • @ashleyegbo-olateru3130
      @ashleyegbo-olateru3130 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And I’m sure you’ve heard it before but each time you take the peats try your best to make it as close to the testing environment as possible. Meaning look up what the testing protocol is and find a space (like a cubicle) and set aside the 5 hours you need with no distractions. Take the breaks in between sections exactly like you would on testing day. This cuts down anxiety SOOOO much. Because you are familiar with the process. So make sure when you’re taking both peats, your phone is on dnd and you’re in the zone. It’ll help give you a more realistic experience and score of how you’ll do on exam day.

      Heyy I took Therapy Ed exam1 and 2 and got 120 and 110. I studied and thought I would get better on the second TE exam but it turned out I got lower. I dont feel confident at all with this real exam coming July. Can I ask your suggestion? What should I do?

  • @ashliekeith9803
    @ashliekeith9803 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for making this video!! I failed my first attempt in July, and I literally just left the testing center from taking it the second time. Unfortunately, I don’t feel like I did any better, and I feel really defeated. Our learning styles seem to be similar…looking at the mountain of information that it necessary feels overwhelming.

    • @ashleyegbo-olateru3130
      @ashleyegbo-olateru3130 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Thanks for reaching out. And if anyone can relate, it’d be me. I’d say it’s okay to feel down but try not to stay down or defeated. Also during this waiting period focus on what you can do better the next time and literally start the prep work now. It helps with the waiting and feeling anxious and it also builds your confidence because you still have all the information fresh in your head. The advantage you have over the next person that takes the exam for the first time is that you’ve done it before. Use that to your advantage and I guarantee you’ll nail it.

      Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment back. As soon as I got out of the test and back to my car, I wrote down a whole list of topics that caught me off guard, and I continue to have them pop in my head. You’re right. If anything, I’m gonna be more prepared than ever 💪🏼

    Mam I am from India studying bachelor of physical therapy in 3 nd year . so for master of physical therapy which is the best universities in USA , what exam I have to give and what is the procedure for addmission and how can I get scholarship ??

    • @ashleyegbo-olateru3130
      @ashleyegbo-olateru3130 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ravnat! Thanks so much for reaching out! And great questions! From what I know, there are only Doctorate programs for physical therapy in the states. So instead of doing the masters, they have only allowed Doctorate programs to give degrees here. I actually went to DPT school in Australia and did my bachelors in USA. So I never took the GRE (which is the exam you’ll need to take) and I never went to a DPT program in the states. So I’m not really familiar with which programs are the best however I do have a friend that I can try to reach out to for that information regarding scholarships and admission procedures! I hope that helps! Also feel free to email me at ashleyegbo@yahoo.com.

    Hey hun. Did you have any issues finding parking on the strip or when you went to any specific places?

    • @ashleyegbo-olateru3130
      @ashleyegbo-olateru3130 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In downtown Tulum parking wasn’t a problem for us. But we didn’t go during a busy time so it was super empty. But for dinners and night life, it was a lot more crowded. However you have complimentary valet parking when you get to the restaurant or club. So you don’t really have to fuss with parking. But everything else during the day was fine.

    • @ashleyegbo-olateru3130
      @ashleyegbo-olateru3130 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The car rental was like $500 with all the deposits and everything. I think you get back $250. But depends on the car company. And it’s really no recommendation cause that was the first one we used. Regardless of the company just make sure to get a thorough video of the car just in case most of the company’s do the same thing.
