Campground Group at Starvy Creek Fall 2024
มุมมอง 2.3Kหลายเดือนก่อน
I ran into this group of bluegrass players in the campground at Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival in Conway, Missouri on the evening of September 20, 2024 after the main stage shows. I was immediately taken in by their outstanding playing and singing. I asked if I could record them and stayed out of the way. I neglected to ask who they are but through the power of TH-cam, I received a response th...
Starvy Creek Fall 2004 Campground Jams
มุมมอง 101หลายเดือนก่อน
Videos taken evening of Friday September 20, 2024 in Stavy Creek Campground. Four separate groups of players. Just a small sampling of the many jams that happen after the main show and are truly some of the best music of the weekend. If anyone knows any of the players in the third group, please let me know! They were great and asked me to send them videos but I didn't get their names. FIRST GRO...

Wow… this style certainly influenced mike Gordon - beltless Buckeler has elements of this style
Thank you so much for posting this! I keep coming back to watch it because it helps me when times are hard. I was so emotional at the show during the last solo
...be with you ♥
I was there for the last 3 nights and I love that I can watch this over and over. It takes me back to one of the best times, such a good show. Love the commentary too!!
Glad you enjoy it Kristen! If you don’t know, I also recorded 8-9, I didn’t go to 8-8. th-cam.com/video/lWFBGUrhb44/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_z2OcxS_eO3aehrO
I don't like admitting I have celebrity "idols" or heroes, but Phil was a strong musical presence for me and I'm not even a player. Even my mom would stop and listen during parts when Phil was featuring. Yeah I know it's life blah blah but this really hurts.
IMO, Phil and Cassady are the only bassists who have truly earned the title virtuoso. So long Phil
Immediately looked for this after hearing it on bluegrass station - so good!
Thank You Phil. Peace and Love.
subtle and bewiful and although the solo never really stopped he never really played one again at the request of the band, it was Bob Weir who never stopped Phils pursuit of the perfect solo while of course Jerry never really even tried and it shows in his not happening years like 77 for example Goooooooo Dead!!
Keith and Phil!
Thanks that is some good Phil , may he keep truckin
Any fellow Phil zone spinners here?
I'm so sad. "Such a long, long time to be gone and a short time to be there " 😢😢😢
❤
The HSF from this show is also amazing th-cam.com/video/VFuECv5sB2o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AGRxo8rU71rw-BzT
A TRUE ONE & ONLY. R.I.P. PHIL. LESH BASS GREAT PHILING
This got me thinking about my favorite Phil solos/base lines. Caused me to remember one of my all time favorites has got to be from Dane County coliseum 2/15/73. Phil’s solo between Dark Star and you guessed it Eyes of the World is something to behold.
RIP my brother in bass
Such a long long time to be gone,And short time to be a musical Giant! ☮️💟💀🌹
Bye Phil. Thanks for the keks.
ONE OF A KIND ✌💀👍😥😥😥🙏🙏🙏
Well written.❤
Immortal
An ensemble player.
Phil was a *huge* reason I own basses and did the jamband covers bar brawl; he simply is the reason I play a six. I will greatly miss this master bassist & jamband genius. Melodic & progressive bassists owe this man a major debt. RIP Maestro. Go write a song with Jimi & Jerry so I have something to boggle at when I join ye.. <bow>
With all due respect, he was the grateful Dead we're Way beyond just a jam band. They played iconic Americana and contributed to the folk Canon more than any other rock band
???
😢
Fair the well🎉
The show that changed my life. ❤
I started playing like him at an early age and didn't even know why. So soft spoken
Fare thee well We love you more than words can tell 😢
Legend

RIP Big Phil
This is true bluegrass a beautiful sound, high harmony.
Hello family. Love you all....❤
Very nice, thanks.
RIP Phil. Thank you! ✌🏻💀
Lucky enough to see six of the shows at Sphere, what an experience. Thank you for posting,.

When Phil did a solo it was an EVENT!
No one played or will play the bass like that again , uncle phil
His melodic meandering and placing himself between all the other notes being played. Playing his own song and fitting it in with everyone else, his tone playing with a pick. Phil always added the heavy where it was needed and the beautiful soft melodic improvisation is unmatched. My local jazz station KUVO has been talking about Phil for a good 20hrs now. I cried, had big gathering with friends. The news hit us pretty hard but by the end of the night we were all smiles feeling lucky to see so many times. I knew that the last show I saw was going to be the last time I got to see him play. We’re all so lucky that he made it to 84 and never stopped the music for us.
That man played until the end. Thank you Phil, Godspeed my friend. ✌💀👍🙏🙏🙏😥😥😥
AMEN
My literal idol just died. I’m so sad. I’m going to try to carry a bit of that torch with my bass.
💔
Love this lil jam, in the pocket ... just like 1974 > Reno, PNE, Providence all sick performances
RIP Phil. 😥
