@@w0lfpackproductions392 i sit down for 9.00 every day, log into my broker and today realised i had the problem and instantly contacted topstep support, and it was not resolved till 9.55, so it’s out of my control really.

@@AthosTrades yeah exactly, a truth be told as soon as i charted it and didn’t take it, i subconsciously switched off and didn’t take in the new data, so that’s a lesson learn in itself

the higher timeframe model was bullish and the higher time frames were showing me the draw was higher, and i look to align the smaller timeframes with the external timeframes, hence looking for longs, and at the end of the day, price ended up moving higher overall, so the bias i had played out

wait yea that’s so real, no idea why i did that, maybe i was just laser focused on shorts because of the initial move, even after ES took the same SSL i still took a short, yeah that’s poor from me to be honest 😂😂

@ I think cuz I didn’t get in on the move down I was just like 3rd party observer and when we took ssl I longed nice model back up in line with dol. Price action is gonna be nutry now w trump I think

thank you, yeah its just one of those moves maybe you are never meant to catch as it is not in line with your system, one to journal and learn from nonetheless though!

@Trade.withJames can you tell me that after we pass a funded acc we get real funded acc right ? Then what are the rules given to trade on that real funded acc

@ after you pass the combine, you pay an activation fee of $149, and then your account is at $0 with the drawdown of whatever account you were on, say a 50k, you have $2000 drawdown, (can’t go below -$2000) you then just trade on it the same aiming to grow the account, to qualify for a payout you just need 5 winning days of $200+. that is on topstep only and when you request a payout the minimum your account can go to is then $0 . so i am aiming to build a buffer, get my account to around $4000 then request a payout to leave $2000 in my account at all times, as my buffer

yeah fr, a tricky day to have a bias, as your brain is like, right no reason to be short the higher timeframe is clearer drawing higher, and your heart is like, bro we are so overextended a pullback is necessary but trading pullbacks can be really hard

yeah usually they are really close, and out by like 25-50 cents, and if your confluence for a trade come down to that small of a margin, it probably is not valid anyway. So i always just chart on whichever one i will place a trade on, usually MNQ, but today was big discrepancy, very weird

@Trade.withJames sometimes nq takes the data high but mnq doesnt

when in a trade, 1 tick on NQ1 is $5, but 1 tick on MNQ (micro) is $0.50. 1 tick on ES is $12.50, and MES is $1.25 essentially micros are 1/10th the risk of the mini. usually the charts are extremely similar, only out by 25-50 cents maximum, so it doesnt bother me, but there was a major discrepancy today it was weird

@@JaysonRies yeah 100% a low probability trade, but if you knowingly de risked because of it, it’s all good, don’t beat yourself up, come back stronger later, $ can be made and lost, as long as you’re growing as a trader each day

Let's say u saw SMT ....and once SMT is put what do u look for on ltf An inverse or cisd maybe...... Bt what if u have an buy side fvg in M5 and gets inverse to take sells...... Bt there's another m15 buy side fvg and price reacts of it......hw do u handle those situations

@ if the SMT is on a higher timeframe, i would want to see some sort of displacement on the higher timeframe like an IFVG or CISD, and then scaling into the lower timeframe i would look for an internal model to appear, so moves back against the direction i want to trade, to setup the side of the curve i want to trade that lines up. say there was a 1h bullish SMT, and then a 1h ifvg from it, i would zoom in, and want to see price go lower first, generate buyside (highs) on the lower timeframe, before seeing manipulation on the lower timeframe (internal low taken/SMT) and then displacement ifvg + cisd, to then trade the buyside of the curve on the lower timeframe, targeting the internal high, and letting a runner go to an external draw, on the bigger timeframe hope that makes sense :)

sorry didnt see the bottom of your message, in a situation like that i would rely on the higher time frame, work out what the higher time frame is drawing towards (fvg or liquidity) and trade in that direction, if in your example the higher time frame draw is higher, yes the 5m bullish fvg gets inversed, but the draw is higher, so youd go off the 15m bull fvg holding bullish

@@zaylee5 you can only say PA was bad once it’s happened, you don’t know that live, as long as you have the discipline and the good habits in place to be able to avoid conditions like these will you survive nice work on your trade! for me, i like to align the internal model with where i believe the higher time frame is drawing towards, which for me was lower, hence why i was not looking at longs

@@nq_spiderman yeah , i don’t really think the size of the fvg was an issue, ones like that have worked for me in the past, and sometimes i’d avoid a small one and then miss the trade, so personally im fine taking this setup, and i was hoping to position myself for the move to sell side during the macro, didn’t work out and that’s fine, one of those losses that is expected as nothing is 100%

@Trade.withJames the thing is, even though the move sometimes does go off those small fvgs its just statistically better if you let it go without you and playing the probabilities from decent sized fvgs

yeah well said tbf, i mean i trade the MMXM model, and everyone can view it differently, it just adds to my conviction if he has taken a similar trade to me with similar drawings marked on the chart as me, if i took a trade that he didnt and lost, i wouldnt say my trade was wrong, and if i won i wouldnt say he was wrong, its just a cheeky conviction/confidence booster if we were seeing the same thing. but i get 100% where you are coming from brother!

yes a no news monday is usually bound to be like this, glad i had the habits in place to take 1 trade and walk away, saving capital from being burnt

what you think futures over forex?

@ 100%. One chart for everyone, not different from each broker. Virtually no spreads, because it’s not broker prices it’s CME prices. 2-3 very reputable prop firms with affordable pricing and rules that actually shape good traders and don’t encourage gambling like cfd firms do. There is hardly any negatives of futures of forex, NQ always has lovely moves, it’s also less chart time, i’m on the charts from 9am NY time till 11/12 NY time, compared back when i traded forex it was a 9-5 on the charts it felt like. fits my lifestyle more ✅ clean moves and clean PA ✅ reputable prop firms that have been in the space a long time ✅

yessirr! maximum focus on the habits and the process, and the money will fall into place
