In the mid 1990s, Dale Earnhardt, Ernie Irvan, and Rusty Wallace pretty much dominated NASCAR racing, though Earnhardt was the only one of the three to reel off a Winston (Now Sprint) Cup championship during that decade, winning four (1990-91, and 1993-94) after winning his first three in the 1980s (1980, 1986-87). Out of the other two, Rusty was the only other one to win a championship (1989). The closest Ernie came to winning a championship came in 1994 until he crashed at Michigan during a qualifying run and nearly died. BTW, the guy who sang "The Battle Hymn of The Republic" sounded just like Elvis.
