😮 Looks Delicious 😋 Thank you for sharing ❤️
Why would you rinse the beef? You’re washing away flavor.
@@leisastalnaker3790 personal preference when I have a fattier ground beef. Sometimes I don't, sometimes I do.
Looks yummy 😋
Do you know what circumference would be good for a 4 yr old child? And a 6 yo child?
Sorry, I'm not purposely ignoring you, I just keep forgetting to try and figure it out.
@ no obligation at all. I just thought you might know that off the top of your head. Some people know those kinds of things. 🤣🤣 No pressure if you don’t!
Hello, thank you for this video! Do you wash the fabric before cutting it? Also, dumb question, but how is the “on the bias” “with the grain” “against the grain” determined, if that question makes sense.
@@bkfrance2 I usually wash my fabric before sewing. I'm just not very good at explaining but if you imagine horizontal and vertical lines in your fabric. Look closely and you'll see them. "On the bias" would be to put your pattern diagonally on those vertical/horizontal lines. Typically, you do patterns straight or on the straight of grain but if you were to finish like something curvy like a Christmas tree skirt or oval placemats or a round table runner you would cut the strips for the edging on the bias so it would be more stretchy and have more give to go around the curves and stay straight and not bunch up. I don't remember in what context I used "against the grain" or "with the grain" but I usually mean to keep it straight with those vertical and horizontal threads of the fabric. Especially if you were using a fabric like a plaid or gingham but on the bonnets I don't think that would matter as much. If you were to cut the chin straps on the bias they might ruffle slightly or bunch up while sewing because the chance for stretching the fabric is greater. So straight of grain the way I interpret it is to keep pattern straight on those vertical/horizontal lines of the fabric.
That was too funny. When i was making my daughters quilt called A Touch to Remember, i couldn't find one of the candlewicked panels. Lo and behold, there it was in the middle of another already sewn together block. I couldn't believe it! I had to leave it there and made another candlewick panel. You have to laugh and keep on going. Sometimes improvise.
Good directions.
Thank you for sharing your technique. I am working on a quilt for my granddaughter. I have decided to do some mugrugs for her mom as practice for my technique on a smaller project first.
Thank you for this! We have a smaller puppy that can’t finish his food and it’s been so wasteful. Going to try this today! Happy New Year! 😊
I’ve tried this and ran into the issue of the bags losing their vacuum seal. I cut my own bags using the roll and have a little over a gallon of food in each bag. Is this too much to try and vacuum seal? I’m trying to figure out why the pressure is lost in the bags. Thanks.
@@marlonjones6951 I've had the same thing happen with some of them. I thought that maybe it was because my machine was older but that probably wasn't it. If I am remembering correctly it happened with varying quantities of the dog food. I just checked them often and rotated the food to use the un-vacuumed ones first. I'm thinking that unless someone has a commercial or premium sealer that it's just an issue with them. So I haven't really answered your question.
You can try adding oxygen absorbers
You really demonstrated how to make this very well
I love seeing that you hand sow your bindings on - for the same reason I do. I"m terrible at top stitching. You would think after 60 years I would have mastered that.
I appreciate this video so much.
I love these! I struggle with corners, practice, practice, practice. Glad I found you!
Beautiful quilt! Thanks for sharing your techniques including the challenges you have while making it. Much appreciated your being real. Thanks again.😊
Adorei 👏👏👏
It is such a good idea to organize scraps the way you do, and I'm going to reorganize all of mine. I am confused as to why the length of the pieces don't match up when you are laying them out.
Thank you. I am going to try this right away. I think it would help a lot to use a mini steam iron and iron everything as you go. I love to use Mary Ellen's Best Press as it gives you amazing results
Love it thank you
Great project
What are the standard measurements in a place mat with 1/4” stitches around?

Thankyou for sharing your video, love the quilt and the fabric is gorgeous. Watching from Australia 🌏🦘 happy 😊 quilting ❤
Thank you! I’ve been making the pumpkin rolls for years but I learned things from you this morning that will help them turn out a bit better! Thank you ❤️ question, after freezing the cin roll logs should I just defrost in the fridge then cut and let rise then bake?
I've only done it once and thawed out in counter until soft enough to cut. Maybe 20 minutes. Then cut, put on pan and proofed. Maybe took 2 hrs. I've linked that video in the description box.
But thawing in fridge would also work. I left it somewhat frozen because it was easier to cut that way.
I love your mistake, I’ve made the same mistake several times
I know it has to be difficult teaching us and filming at the same time. Love your honesty.
Yummy! Need to go to the store TODAY! 🎉
Jeri I appreciate very much how you explain your recipes and what you are doing. And that you write out the ingredients and directions. Thank you! ❤️ ~Nancy~
Dear Jeri, thank you so much for sharing your Christmas cake recipe. It looks so moist and delicious. I don't know what you call your cake, but here in Australia we call this a "Boiled Fruit Cake" because the dried fruit is boiled along with all the spices, before adding the flour and and so on. I'm definitely going to try making this cake. I've just made my Christmas cake for this year, and I don't really like the traditional marzipan and fondant icing that goes on top of the cake, so I glaze the cake and then decorate it with toasted nuts like pecans, walnuts and macadamias. It's very easy to do. I combine 2 tablespoons of apricot jam and 1 tablespoonful of brandy in a small saucepan over low heat and stir until the mixture is bubbling. Then I toast all the nuts in the oven at 350 Fahrenheit (or 180 Celsius) for 7 to 8 minutes, until golden. Then I brush the top of the cake with the glaze and then decorate the cake with the toasted nuts, and brush more glaze over the top of the nuts. If you're not keen on fondant icing this nut topping is really yummy. The nuts provide crunch which contrasts well with the moist cake. Love from Amanda Jones in Australia

Hello, please, where can we find the pattern please ? Merci beaucoup, from France
Hello! It is McCalls pattern number M7231. I purchased it at an American fabric store called JoAnn fabric/craft store. I don't know if you could look at their website online and be able to order it. I have looked on Amazon and EBay and you can find the pattern on those sites. I have also done another video showing how to make your own pattern at home using a large bowl and paper and pencil, check it out at th-cam.com/video/RD4wJh65RpE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OW-g02xRiG_WPYWV I am currently working on making my own pattern and kit available for purchase but I haven't worked out the details yet.
Really great trip. I enjoyed it. Foods look really good. Must have been nice to have your meals prepared. I love your cooking vids your such a good cook.😊
Very nice ❤
I wanted to pass along how you can use free paper to make patterns. I am an Amazon Queen. I order at least once a week. I save all of the brown packing paper and I iron it, roll it up and save. I have not purchased pattern paper in over two years.
use a little scrap under needle when you start sewing, keep fabric from being pulled in to the plate.
just randomly found this vid and idk u seem like a very sweet lady
I've been hesitant to try patterns because I wasn't sure of what to expect. Thank you for opening one up and sharing 🙏
I love the fact that you are still learning. You are not afraid of making mistakes. You’re someone I can learn from.
Love the purple plaid fabric. You’ve inspired me to get out a pair of half finished PJ trousers that I need to finish. Thanks for the tip to keep the pattern pieces with the cut out fabric, and the one to attach the elastic to the waistband before you start threading it through 🧡
Pressing the fold line with half each of vinegar and water in a spray bottle will often remove the crease. I also use it when pressing any kind of fabric tape to make the glue adhere better.
I love that you have a helper.❤
Looks absolutely delicious!
