Martial Arts Master Reacts to Ip Man vs 10 Black Belts

I react to my favorite fight scene from Ip Man, talking about the best and worst moves made during the scene, from the perspective of a martial arts master. Did you know that jumping kicks aren't always a brilliant move??? I've been training in martial arts for more than 18 years, with a heavy focus on practical self-defense. I love martial arts, and I love talking about them, so let me know wh...

It's funny when a Martial Artist says "they can run and rush him" normal people who don't do any martial arts don't even think about that they may actually make it easier because they don't think about that's the funniest thing about people we don't do stuff that would make most sense😂

The Raid Redemption & The Raid 2 showcase the traditional Indonesian🇮🇩 martial art of Pencak Silat. PENCAK SILAT (Indonesian🇮🇩 pronunciation: [ˈpent͡ʃaʔ ˈsilat]; in Western writings sometimes spelled "pentjak silat" or phonetically as "penchak silat") is an umbrella term for a class of related Indonesian🇮🇩 martial arts. In neighbouring countries, the term usually refers to professional competitive silat. It is a full-body fighting form incorporating strikes, grappling and throwing in addition to weaponry. Every part of the body is used and subject to attack. Pencak silat was practiced not only for physical defense but also for psychological ends. There are hundreds of different pencak silat styles (aliran) and schools (perguruan) which tend to focus either on strikes, joint manipulation, weaponry, or some combination thereof. This movie is Indonesian, so the style used is native Indonesian called Silat or Pencak Silat. Yes it's quite similar to Kali (Filipino) since both countries are in South East Asia.. but it still different

I really like this reaction. Your very realistic and knowledgeable. It's one form of Martial arts vs another. So there not going to dog pile him. Even though I agree that is the best way. Its near impossible to stop 6 people grappling you to the ground. So i think when you said there shadow boxing. Its because everyone was in the way and blocking each other from striking.

This is a tournament. Rules apply to the art. That why they don`t all rush him at once.

When you talked about Donnie rolling you MISSED the most important thing in the frame-- you forgot to diagram Donnie grabbing the guys shoulder blade and upper arm and TAKING it with him..

You should watch The Night Comes For Us if you haven’t! It’s another brilliant Indonesian martial arts movie. The blood and gore are a bit over the top but the fight scenes are so good!

Nah bruh getting hit in the chest hurts like a bitch I know because I've been hit there before. I've stabbed 3 times, shot 1 time, cut 13 times, had skin burned off my stomach, I straddle a 2x4 that had a rusty nail sticking out, which btw dug into my arm an had a chunk of meat hanging down, so I know pain and have a good pain tolerance but getting hit in chest hurts like hell, so don't try and sound like a tough guy saying it doesn't hurt.

Over the years I had many people comment stuff like "why didn't they just grab him?" While I know it's a movie and it's got a lot of unrealistic elements, I think peopel fail to realize this is a tournament setting. They are interested in showing their martial arts skill is better, not being a gang and beating him up like thugs.

A lot of the my favorite fight scenes aren't always the most realistic. Because, ultimately, the director's goal is to tell a story. A lot of times, a few changes can add a ton of emotional impact to a scene. Also, there are a ton of practical limitations to filming a fight in a way that engages the viewer. But, I'm neither a cameraman nor stuntmman by trade, so I usually stick to only commenting on the martial arts in a scene. There are plenty of other channels that have far more expertise in cinematography.

@@masternick7051 That brings up an interesting question. I wonder how many cameras and shots it took them to get all this together. It is a complex piece of choreography. I can only dream of being as skilled as Donnie Yen or Jackie Chan. At this point in life, just doing forms serves me for warm-up and workout haha.
