On Day 2 in Inverness, I decided to swap the city's charm for a breathtaking bus journey through the Scottish Highlands. The adventure started with a scenic ride that took me through some of the most jaw-dropping landscapes I've ever seen. First stop: Glencoe, a place famous for its dramatic, rugged beauty. As the bus wound through narrow roads flanked by towering mountains and deep valleys, I couldn't help but feel like I had stepped into a postcard.
Glencoe's haunting beauty, with its mist-covered peaks and ancient trees, is a photographer's dream. I spent some time exploring the iconic valley, soaking in the atmosphere and learning about its history, from the infamous massacre to its role in Scottish culture. It's a place where the natural world feels almost untamed-perfect for anyone looking for a true Highland experience.
Next, we continued on to Fort William, often called the 'Outdoor Capital of the UK'. Nestled at the foot of the mighty Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, Fort William felt like the gateway to endless adventure. Whether it was hiking, biking, or simply exploring the town’s charming streets, there was no shortage of things to do. I wandered around the local shops, grabbed a bite to eat, and enjoyed the stunning views of Ben Nevis and the surrounding Loch Linnhe.
