Equus is simple horrible.....its smells like a barn or an animal cage. On the other side, Lalique Lion is the best parfum i ever had.

There’s nothing elegant about wood chips in a barn yard stable.

Nice list, Trevor. Speaking of myrrh, I’ve been obsessed with Les Indemodables Oriental Velours the last few weeks. Also picked up Arborist from Jorum Studio. It’s very sharp and green, perhaps a bit too sharp, but I need to spend more time with it. Gotta always shout out Apoteker Tepe The Holy Mountain; resinous, coniferous incense smoke is just lovely and powerful on a snowy day.

Great list. Not enough pine and cypress dominant fragrances nowadays. It's one of my favorite notes in perfumery

I like Apex Parfum. It's got that masculine green forest/oak moss/soapy with citrus and pineapple. That Balenciaga seems very interesting and I checked it out, but it's discontinued and now it's expensive. That Eau Sauvage 2012 seems interesting too. I have the 2017 version. You have some nice rare fragrances. I got gucci pour homme batch#0205 Versace Man(purple bottle)batch#5118B Allure edition blanche edt concentre batch#2302.

I recently picked up a backup bottle of Eau Sauvage Parfum as I am afraid it will get axed or reformulated the way Dior is proceeding with the Dior Homme line. This is one of the best classical barbershop fougeres out there that's under the radar.

Just like Derek from Varanis Ridari mentioned, that Balenciaga was a bargain bin fragrance only 20 years ago. 😄 I even recall seeing it as a drugstore up here for like $15. Nobody wanted it until all the clout began. It is a good fragrance though no doubt. Incidentally, I picked up Belcam's Gender One recently for an $8 nostalgia trip, and just like their Polo take, it totally smells more like the vintage CK One than the current stuff. Still has that dense honeyed amber in addion to the laundry florals and galaxolide. And it projects like crazy for the first 2 hours because of the firehose atomizer. Have a decant of Roja's Apex coming in soon too so we'll see if it's a winner. Top picks as always Trev.

Great choices! I didn't know the Lalique had been discontinued, such a shame. I also love TdH Parfum, it's so so good. I'll have to check out Nefs, I've picked up a few from Nishane recently and really admire their fragrances.

Nice! Ps, after you convinced me on L'Insoumis, I've been letting it sit for a couple of months and it's so much better now. Finally get the peppery-rum combo from Guerlain's L'homme edp and the longevity has increased by a good hour or so. Think I'll be hitting up some Jubi tomorrow!

So good to see you, I've missed you. I swear, no one does a better job of describing scents than you. I'm intrigued by the Habit Rouge Parfum. The vintage EDT is phenomenal, one of my all time favorites, I've plenty of back stock of it. Does the Parfum have any civet in it? The vintage EDT does, and it gives it this skanky edge that is so elegant and amazing. And thank you for alerting me on the Bel Ami Vetiver when it was ridiculously priced, I picked it up and absolutely love it. I hope all is well with you and your family, and wish you a wonderful new year!

Great to see you again Trevor! Oh man, I am so behind on transitioning to my winter bin. (1) My Fall bin is definitely my favorite, and (2) they are damn heavy and in my new house I have two flights of stairs between the basement and my fragrance drawers now. On the plus side, unlike in my previous home, winter here is not a blink-and-you-miss-it season (pretty sure our current snow flurries have been going for three straight days), so I think I still have a solid three months of cold weather in which to rediscover all my winter stuff. Agree about Prada - they've clearly made the Ocean line their exclusive focus for men's scents, and I found all of them pleasant but terribly boring. I know what they are going for, and it's unfortunately the same thing that all of the designers are going for these days. I am sure those bottles sell like crazy, but I won't ever be getting one of them. The days of designers making distinctly different fragrances like in the late 90's and early 00's are beyond dead, we've entered the "Y"-"Ocean"-"Invictus"-"Wanted" sweet-fresh-amberwood age when they are all very close to the same thing.
