Trek is announcing today a newly redesigned 2021 Trek Slash. We have the new Slash 8 in our store and are very excited to share the new changes to the Slash platform with all of you with this First Look video.
When the Slash was redesigned as a race bike in the fall of 2016 as a 2017 model year bike it was a genre defining bike. It won Pinkbike's coveted Bike of the Year award in 2018 and has been a solid bike ever since. However it was time for an update as bike geometry has been changing rapidly recently.
The new Slash got all of the changes that I was personally hoping to see. I think they nailed everything. If there's any one thing I think they could have gone a little more progressive on it might be a steeper seattube angle, but I digress, I haven't actually gotten this one out on the trail.
Their spec choice seems very on point, I'm excited to see Rockshox Super Deluxe rear shocks across the board, proper downhill brakes, and burly forks like the Lyrik and the Zeb depending on the model you purchase.
