WHAT A DAY!
We organized the Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival in #Serbia
As the only country outside the EU that got the opportunity to do it, we are proud to be a part of this week's events in more than 30 locations in 18 countries. More than 100 students and more than 50 researchers joined us today to discuss challenges and opportunities in bioeconomy sector.
We had a chance to hear from the representatives of the Government of Serbia what are the key pillars of the New bioeconomy hub in Serbia #Bio4 Campus, EUR 450 million investment in research infrastructure that will be home to more than 1000 PhDs with more than 300 laboratories, covering 200.000 square meters. Nenad Paunovic, EMBA gave insights on strategic points of view and goals #Serbia is aiming at and pathways to do so. Representatives of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Eva Zlatkovic together with the Fond za inovacionu delatnost Jelena Stanarevic presented an overview of the current state of the innovation ecosystem and more than 10 programs that are providing financial and advisory support to start-ups, spin-offs, companies and technology transfer initiatives. Dragana Šutović.Ilić from the C4IR Srbija presented ways of cooperation with academia through projects and events they are organizing.
The first panel sessions opened a discussion on the Role of Agriculture in the Bioeconomy in Serbia, moderated by Vesna Neskovic who hosted Svetlana Antanasović to discuss #regenerativeagriculture, Saša Krstović on alternative sources of protein from edible insects and its application in animal feed, Milica Vranešević on the topic of application of #NatureBasedSolutions in combating climate change and creating sustainable ecosystems and Todo Terzić who helped us understand regulatory frameworks and possibilities to implement these new practices in our legislations. The second panel section was moderated by Milivoj Radojcin who invited experts to discuss bioenergy as a backbone of the bioeconomy with Siniša Bikić, Maja Karaman, and Milan Tomić.
Also, 2 Centers of excellence that are working at the UNSFA were presented: Center for adaptation of agri, urban and forest ecosystems to climate change presented by Director Ivana Maksimović and Center for vector diseases and effects on climate change in One Health Approach, presented by Aleksandra Ignjatović Ćupina.
Alongside the conference, we organized presentation of more than 20 project that are funded by the European Commission and Fond za nauku Republike Srbije - Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.

На Пољопривредном факултету у Новом Саду, 14. марта 2024, успешно је одржана конференција о биоекономији као део "Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival". Скуп је окупио преко 150 учесника, укључујући младе, чланове научне и академске заједнице, као и представнике из Кабинета председнице Владе Србије и Министарства науке. Дискутовано је о плановима за Bio4 Campus и значају биоекономије за одрживи развој, уз акценат на иновације и сарадњу у суочавању са климатским променама.
