    I'm not getting it. Doesn't my flat bed scanner do the same thing?

      It might, does it save it for you as an svg, or do you need to convert the scan?

      @@TradeSkillersAnonymous As a default most scanners save as bitmaps or Jpg. Maybe I'm making a misinformed assumption, but I think it's the software that saves it the way I want. For me that will most likely be Coreldraw. I'll check it out though. Thanks for the video, it has inspired me nonetheless.

    Nice review, thanks very much for you clear and concise assessments! FYI @13:26, it's not a Hall Effect sensor for homing. The Hall Effect is based on increasing proximity to a magnetic field generating an increasing voltage signal. The Onefinity homing sensor is simply detecting when a protruding tab cuts off an IR light beam shining across a small gap. Very simple and I guess it works well, better than 'stall sensing' anyway.

    Do all 65 mm spindles encounter clearance issues? Or just the particular one you used? Thanks for the vid :)

    • @TradeSkillersAnonymous
      @TradeSkillersAnonymous 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, the issue is the 65mm spindle carrier aligns the spindle with just ever so slightly having travel interference with the motor. If you’re not cutting super thick material a 65mm may work for you. All spindles are shaped the same so a different spindle wouldn’t correct the issue. Thanks, and consider subscribing while you’re here. More videos coming soon

    Thank you so much for this video. I followed your example exactly, except I resized the door to what I need. Worked as advertised in Vcarve. I put on my CNC and worked perfectly. Except we didn’t like the profile, yes, I know it was only an example. I found a profile I liked which included beading detail on the rails and stiles. Carved a sample in MDF this morning and again, it worked fine. Thank you again for the instructions.

    Nice video thank-you. How does the Velocity feeds compare to the programed feed rates on the elite machine? I have been using my Journeyman for quite a while and was thinking about upgrading to the elite machine. I do alot of 3d carvings and the Acceleration deceleration really slows the feed rates down on very detailed carvings. And i understand why it does that but was Wondering if the Velocity Acceleration Deceleration is faster on the elite machine?

    • @TradeSkillersAnonymous
      @TradeSkillersAnonymous 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you don’t have it, I’d suggest the z20 (I think) upgraded z slider. Your x and y speed is mostly throttled by the z slide speed. The original z slider is much slower than the new one. You can only travel x and y as fast as the z can go up and down on intricate carves. The upgraded z slider will greatly improve carve times. Please feel free to subscribe while you’re here.

    What is the kw rating of the your 80mm spindle? I have the same 65mm spindle, heck we even have the same spindle connector and cable mod. Mine is 1.5kw. I'm also looking to change to ER20 collect. I'm also looking to have more power, I really feel the 65mm 1.5kw is underpower even compare to the regular router. I'm looking for 2.2kw but most of them are already in 220v which I gonna need to change the VFD too which is too much work .

    • @TradeSkillersAnonymous
      @TradeSkillersAnonymous 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there. I have two MFT3 tables, this is very different. Not meant to be as stable and because the mft is a one piece top, all the dog holes are perfectly aligned. This table top has three different sections, so each section is aligned within itself, for setting angles etc, but it will not hold true across the different sections. This one works great for a portable work station to break large panels down or for assembly that doesn’t require reference to the tables dog holes across the separate panels.

    Thanks for the review of the Onefinity Elite Foreman. I am a CNC machinist who has programed and ran CNC equipment for 35+ yrs and I am about to retire. I love the CNC machining and recently started to do wood working. I want to get into the woodworking craft once I retire for a little side income since I enjoy my field so much. I looked at many of the machines out there but this oneinfinity has really caught my attention. I have watched many reviews of the various name brands out there but this may be the one I get for just the reasons I know is true. You need a rigid machine to perform smoothly and accurately over the long term. The controller of this machine is more like the ones I use in a CNC machine shop so I will have no problem using it. This machine is at the top of my list for the one to buy if you want to make a business out of woodworking craft. There are tons of projects out there that will sell very well that can be batched out on this machine. Size does mater and a 4x4 machine has the capability to save time and money in the long run. I think the next best machine out there is the Shapeoko 5 Pro 4x4. Its more for the newbie person who wants to get into CNC machining but never ran or programed a CNC before. Cheers Enjoy your Life to the end. Joe

    I am at "DAY ONE" and I watched your video. It was good . . . in what you covered, but what you did not cover leaves me scratching my head. First, you mention Vectric Pro. Obviously software but how do I get it and how do I start to use it? Additionally, you mention that your WiFi is connected to your Onefinity. How do I do that? On "DAY ONE", none of this is done, in my world. Do I need a software package on my desk top or Laptop computer, in order to select and download a file? I want to make guitar bodies and I assume there are already good files, in existence, that I could use. How would I go about getting a file like that and then inputting it into my Onefinity CNC? Here I stand on "DAY ONE", having watched the video, and I am still wondering how to start.

    • @TradeSkillersAnonymous
      @TradeSkillersAnonymous 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there. First, I would say that your observations are noted. Would’ve been a rather long video to include all the items you mentioned, but for your benefit I’ll try to clear it up here. I chose to use Vectric Vcarve pro. Google that, you can buy it right from their website and download. However, there are other software choices for running your CNC. Before buying any, I’d recommend downloading the trial versions and see which one is most intuitive to you. In addition to vectric, there is carveco, carbide create and others. I’d recommend you search TH-cam for CNC router software to use, there are many videos in the topic that you might find useful. At the end of the day, you have to choose one that you like in order to either design your guitars and the resulting gcode files to send to your machine, or manipulate files that you buy from other people, maybe somewhere like etsy. The bottom line is, yes you need a cad/cam software package as I described above. Regarding wifi, it depends on which onefinity machine you have so let me know in a reply and we can go further on that. Lastly, how to go about getting a file into your machine…….? Either design your own, or buy a file and make it how you want it inside the software. The the software can export that design file as g-code that your onefinity can read. Either by a usb stick, or internet connection, send that gcode file to the machine. Now, having said all that, if you’ve just gotten your machine and haven’t researched software or how it works, you’ve got some work to do.

    Red oak is commonly used for furniture is more open pore. White oak is stronger commonly used for structures, boats, etc. the grain is tighter, closed pores, and heavier. Looks like red oak to me.

    I saw someone makes adapter so that you can mount 65mm spindle or router onto 80mm mount bracket. Will that solve the 65mm spindle hitting the z axis top? I am thinking of buying a 65mm 1.5 air cooled 110v spindle for an Elite Journeyman. I would love to hear your thoughts. I have only 110v in my garage.

      Yeah, that’s probably a solution, I wonder though if it hangs off the gantry too far would it create issues with flew or something?

      @@rrr92462 I'm not sure if I did mention it. I did the upgrade program from the wood worker to the journeyman. Bought the elite foreman separately. The original upgraded woodworker/journeyman was sold to another person after the Elite arrived.

    Cheap and easy fix for pulling on the wire. Just super glue something light like a bread tie to the magnet case, then you got a light weight handle to pull on, and no loss if it breaks down the road.

    I picked one of these up for exactly what your using it for. I figured out that you can turn on the phone flashlight and scan the tool directly. Skip the tree killing and tracing all together! It does create a lot of artifact vector line but once in Aspire I just grab the outside tool shape and discard the rest. It is still very time consuming but feels great to be organized!

      That's a great tip, I'll have to check that out! I hope they make one just a bit bigger, maybe 50% or so. Thanks for checking it out, and if you'd like I invite you to subscribe while you're here!

      @@TradeSkillersAnonymous I'm already subscribed and find your videos very helpful. I have been retired for a year and a half now and now on my second Onefinity machine. I think I work more now than when I was employed! As for the Shaper, not sure they make a bigger size but I am in the process of scanning tool right now and figured out to lay the Shaper frame over top of longer tools i.e. a framing hammer and take pictures of each segment, then stitch it together in Aspire. The critical piece is to use the "Curve Fit" function set to "Bezier" to reduce the points then double check the tool length width and adjust using the "Set selected vector size" function to match the tool. Although the foam is forgiving I am striving for a secure fit. This is a lot of work but it is satisfying to the OCD side of my personality. And its nice to use the space in the toolbox effectively. I used plywood with nylon pull tabs to add a second layer of tools in deep drawers (Using the 70 mm foam to recess tools on the bottom stack completely). Thanks again for the tip! This is the easiest way to get the tool vectors I've seen yet.

    Hi from the 🇬🇧UK 👋 The video is PERFECT for what I am looking for. It’s exactly what I wanted to help me start with drawer fronts. I’ve just built my own kitchen except the drawer fronts. And I am also getting in to CNC I had no idea the software could take a profile like that and simply apply it to a rectangle shape. Very clever. You’ve saved me so much time 🙏
