The EVE Symphony
มุมมอง 2.2K10 ปีที่แล้ว
The year 2013 marked an important anniversary for the MMORPG EVE Online, developed by the Icelandic CCP Games: its tenth anniversary. To commemorate, CCP Games enlisted the Icelandic Symphonic Orchestra to rework parts of the game music into a symphony, which was presented at the 2013 Annual FanFest. After seeing the performance, I decided to take the footage, and run with it: I listened to the...
Antigravity Bikes - Who rode it better?
มุมมอง 7K11 ปีที่แล้ว
The most recent Doctor Who episode has the Doctor riding an antigravity-enabled motorbike. The gravity device seemed awfully familiar, then it hit me: just like the Gravity Redirector in Ultraviolet. So I pit the two against one another in a quick mashup. Copyrights go to BBC and Kurt Wimmer/Screen Gems. Use of Doctor Who is considered a bona fide case of fair dealing under Section 30 of the Co...

doctor cos ultraviolet is just shitty cgi
im quite sad that we only got to see the anti-grav bike in doctor who once where Bessie, the 3rd doctors self driving car that looks like Brum, got shown as an entire asset.
Violet SUCKS
ultraviolet sucks. its so out of budget. my nephew could even make a more legit motorcycle scene.
As a major whovian and lover of action movies, I have seen both "The Bells of Saint John" and "Ultraviolet" numerous times and I honestly believe Violet won this one and the CGI argument is both invalid and ridiculous seeing as Ultraviolet is seven years older and most 2013 tv shows had better graphics than major motion pictures from 2006. Geez.
docter
you suck!...why did you cut Violet's scene?!...you should've let the whole scene play out...
Good point. At that moment, though, I felt that this was the end of the riding part, the whole "jumping through the helicopter and into the building" was irrelevant to the comparison. Looking back at it, I concur: I should have left it in...
The Doctor rode it better. Plus, the CGI is much better in the Doctor than in Ultraviolet. The CGI in that scene stinks.
yeah, where is ghost rider?
Good point... He's probably off in NYC, and couldn't make it to the match...
The worst special effects I have ever seen in my entire life, it looks like a cutscene from a playstation 2 game.
the doctor is better
really? the doc just road through the street and up the building. Violet had to jup from platform to platform then drift on a sideways window dodging gunfire....skill level I think goes to violet.
True dat. Skill level definitely goes to Violet, but I would say that Violet and the Doctor are tied for style, seeing as the Doctor's foes weren't expecting it at all, and I recall it being implied in "Ultraviolet" that such things as gravity levelers (I think that's what they were called in the film) were rare, but not necessarily impossible or otherwise unprecedented. Though I'd have to re-watch both "The Bells of St. John" and "Ultraviolet" in order to be absolutely certain.
∀ Gundam Gravity Levelers used to be quite common among Haemophages, but since the Archministry's highly effective campaign against them, they were increasingly rare as the number of Haemophages dwindled and they lost their re-arming capacity. I think it's safe to say that those two were the last in existence (although more could probably be manufactured if the Haemophages had the industrial base for it), and she leaves her belt buckle with Nerva and she ditches her bikes when she jumps through the attack heli. The same goes for FlatSpace storage: pretty rare since the Haemophages were losing ground, with Violet's bracelets and Garth's truck the only remaining examples.
Zalán Meggyesi Makes sense, thanks for telling me. Out of curiosity, was "Ultraviolet" a graphic novel before becoming a film and anime, or am I mistaken?
∀ Gundam Yes, you are. It was the movie first, with the intro done in the style of the Marvel Comics movies. The novelization (with more backstory) came later, and this is actually the first time I heard about Code 044 - is it any good, worth watching?
Zalán Meggyesi Thanks for telling me, as for "Code 044," I've only seen the first of 12 episodes, so I don't have any real opinion yet, but it's very divergent from the film.
The Doctor
The Doctor, definitely.
ultraviolet has by far the worst cgi I`ve ever seen. seriously I struggle to even call it abysmal
I think the bike was okay, he just didn't need it any longer. It was the usual one-shot gadget thing...
Well, what are you gonna do if that is the only way to save the girl that has saved you? TWICE. He needs her, there was no other way. Seems like your argument is invalid c;
You're right, he should have been here too. But the only thing he has going for him is the line "Suspect is going UP! I repeat, suspect is going UP!"...
No Ghost Rider?????
And don't forget pissed off! - "We're as fast as you. We're as strong as you." - "But are you one tenth as PISSED OFF as I am??!"
he broke three things: 1. he broke the window to that ladies office 2. he broke the bike and 3. he broke their minds with his badassery.
violet is a vampire, a really badass vampire.
if violet was in the olympics doctor still came last? but considering idk who violet is n i know shes not in doctor who Doctor Who wins
As the frame pans out it show the power of a man with a motorcycle that defies gravity
The Doc had a way better surprise factor for the audience, it was more enjoyable to watch that. Plus the Doctor's bike looks way cooler, nice vintage/retro look, and he's not an oaf going around breaking things and causing a disturbance. Add to that that in the second clip the subject is fleeing whilst the Doctor is running towards the danger.
The Doctor rode it better. He didn't break anything or cause damage. And like Ohvist Small said, he used it to run into battle. This girl used it to run away. No class!
While Violet's Anti-Grav was pretty lengthy and cool: the main reason behind its useage was to run away. The Doctor was using it to charge off into battle, so he won this by a literal landslide.
The Doctor every time
The doctor bow ties are cool!!
The Doctor...
The doctor, no question
The Doctor, most bad ass and he is a time lord, aint no one beating that
the doctor hands down although the animated sequence was cool too!
THE DOCTOR ROCS
