I made some modifications to the Spare Tire carrier / Bike rack before (and after) sending it out for powder coating. I’m super grateful to Mt Baker Powder Coating in Bellingham WA for getting this turned around in 24 hours. How is the drive in the fuso? I have an older one and the thing drives like a model t ford lol
😂 upgraded suspension Big tires Rides smooth Without that, I’m sure the Model T rides smoother 😂

p.s. my super singles are 19.5 rims
What tires were you able to put on and where are you located? I think that in the USA, the 19.5” rims limit you to one tire
I think you are right about the limitation on tires. I liked the tires that were on it when I boughtit so I just went with the same tires when I replaced them recently which are the "Toyo M608Z". Good wear, traction, handling etc..

I use a 10 ton pneumatic air jack and a 3/4” Chicago impact wrench with the Extreme Aire Compressor on my ATW.

I guess the expense would be where you’re staying? Only when I ate at a restaurant did I spend money.

Would a good impact gun work on the lug nuts?
Maybe? Especially if Anti-seize is used, but better to have a torque multiplier on hand
I thought when the outside temp goes down to 10 degrees that's what the engine is for - to drive the truck somewhere the temps are reasonable!

I know some people don’t like to talk money. But for me it’s where rational lives. Weather or no something is far away or close and what could be squeezable. What is your investment at at this point? Or broken into pieces. Truck rough truck upgrades deck and boxes habitat shell. Interior components. Etc. It sure does add up.
It’s beyond where I expected. Initial budget was $90k USD. I’m well over that now and the finish line isn’t in sight. It’s why I’m putting the interior on hold for a year. I need to get back to work and refill the piggy bank.

Does 37" front wheel touched the flare fender or not after installing ? is it require to lift the car or it is ok with stock height ? My Fuso is 4x4 as well ,thanks

No access to the cab? Not good on those cold, wet, snowy days or if in place with wild animals and you need to move back and forth in the dark.

The entrance into the shower is a great way to rinse off as you come in. Are you leaving it open to the toilet area ? So it will be a wet bath or will be the toilet closed off? Thanks for sharing your build and journey. 👍💪🛠 📺
Yes, a wet bath and yes to the rinse off area. Doing g construction work on the road; a way to get clean before going into my home was important. It’s a concept I got directly from Tony Scott.

The same way I built mine. Did all my drawings in cad, then taped the entire camper out in the loungeroom and spent weeks walking around in the area seeing what would and wouldn't work I built mine myself from scratch which saved a lot of money, but it was a lot of work, especially laminating the panels which were approx 3.2m x 2.2m
I would have loved to do more myself, but I’ve already been living on the road out of a van for four years and just on the road ( no van) for 7 years now. So no shop
I do CAD ( Cardboard aided Design) I’m hoping to learn CAD more this coming year though
@TheItinerantCraftsman CAD is pretty handy, but you still don't get a feel for the dimensions. The software I use is crazy expensive but it gave me finished weights etc as well

I follow Bruce's build as well. Did you have your front end aligned after these tires, are you putting new spring on? With or without the alignment are you seeing heavy tire wear on the front? I'm hoping new spring to replace my 2004 springs will help in this, also does it shimmy much with these tires on?
There was a complete suspension upgrade and then I had the front end aligned
That is a great video. We (Snorkel) will definitely be putting it up on our new website. While watching it I temporarily forgot that you were not the average homeowner putting all that together and was quite amazed at the planning and execution. Even for a professional, it was impressive.
If you have a trailer brake controller, i used to have 1 with a trigger on the side that would adjust the amount of brake pressure on the trailer brakes only. When things got squirly I would trigger the trailer brakes only with that squezeable trigger and that would pull things straight. Worked very well many times when i felt a jacknife coming on.
I was using a Blue Ox system amzn.to/47ZiW8z and while it does have a wireless remote, it wasn’t as easy as when I run a dedicated electric brake controller. That said, you are correct. In fact, that’s what I did for the rest of the 2,000 mile cross country trip and subsequent snow storms. However, this incident totally caught me off guard because of how focused I was on the rapidly deteriorating conditions, both inside and outside the cab.

Just a thought. Logging trucks run duals every day in serious off road conditions. No issues. I personally think it just looks cool for the off chance of a rock stuck.
Most big rigs are moving to Super Singles. You can’t air down dual wheels like you can either singles.
Not common. Dumps and concrete trucks are out there. They more sensitive to wear, have lower traction, and generate more heat if they're under-inflated. Fuel mileage also you cant limp in with a super single. @@TheItinerantCraftsman
