Wow and mind blowing planted community tank of neocardina and mbuna fry
มุมมอง 417 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Brought all the odds together on this one for this mind blowing combination mbuna fry and neocardina in a planted tank. I know it’s only for a few months till the fry grow up, but it will be a beautiful few months. And who knows the cichlids know the shrimp from birth so they may just adapt.
Red Zebra Cichlid mother and her fry- full protect mode and high on attack stance: African mbuna DNA
มุมมอง 101ปีที่แล้ว
Maylandia estherae (the Red Zebra mbuna, Red Zebra Cichlid , or Esther Grant's Zebra) is a haplochromine cichlid. It is a rock dwelling fish or mbuna from Lake Malawi. This fish, like most cichlids from Lake Malawi, is a mouthbrooder - females hold their fertilized eggs then fry in their mouths until they are released after about 21 days.

OMG I was about clean this nano tank as I had another larger tank, I transferred over the fishes and to my shock I spotted 20 shrimp fry’s 😊 I carefully Cleaned out all the plants to get visibility on the fry’s and caught them and moved them over... I was tired and left the tank with only water and substrate so that I could clean it the next day.. I left a small cup with some shrimp food in it ...

    That wasn’t planaria, no eyes, it is just a detritus worm, clean up crew, a nematode. The ones that free swim like snakes are good for the tank as well.

    Seed shrimp are assholes IMO. Breed too much and very difficult to get rid off if their population gets out of control. Planaria, much easier to manage.

    forget mindlessly searching for answers and realise discovering the correct question to ask is far more profound because its not what you see, its how you see that really matters....... Why do fish and other aquatic species eat consistently? and why do green algae and diatoms appear more abundantly at different times of the year?

    • @donkeykongisbetterthanmari7495
      @donkeykongisbetterthanmari7495 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      nutrients from after winter flow into water, causing more diatoms.

      @@donkeykongisbetterthanmari7495 As I said ask the correct questions and stop chasing answers. Otherwise you will get deluded by wrong answers that merely appear correct from that perspective.

      So what are the correct answers? Is that correct question?😄

  • @chrislecky710

    Clear water is not a sign of a healthy aquatic environment. An ecosystem should be sustainably flora heavy to sustain complexity. That means the environment should be more complex and diverse than the life forms present, thus providing room for all current established species to adapt to a specific niche once food supplies begin to dwindle. This process occurs as the seasons begin to change from summer to winter or from abundance to scarcity. if you study aquatic crustaceans you will realise they already have evolved adaptations to compensate for these conditions that occur seasonably. For example Daphnia have the ability to produce clones of themselves which ensures their dwindling numbers during winter do not wipe them out completely. The conclusion to my observation using this knowledge is that you are totally 100% over feeding your fish. lol🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @Rick-the-Swift

      They may be over feeding the fish, but the seed shrimp apparently want more 😄

    Trust me you want to have seed shrimp in your shrimp tank. Planaria is easily taken care of by deworming medicines. But with seed shrimp it is impossible. You will need to start new and fresh. They (especially the eggs) are indestructible.

      But what harm do seed shrimp cause? (none)

    • @Ta-da32
      @Ta-da32 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kaden.slone04_biologyI have neocaridina shrimp only tanks and seed shrimp will outbreed them. If there are too many seed shrimp, they will absolutely attack the neocaridina. Many fish don't like eating seed shrimp or they will also eat the neocaridina . Due to seed shimp I have to start a new aquarium and get rid of the plants and pumps. I really don't like them now. So many say they are harmless but that's not always the case as some are carnivorous and hunt. At least with planaria you can easily treat the tank with No-Planeria or other similar products.
