4:10 Insane how different Fullerton looked back then, I go there occasionally to train spot. Saw an ATSF yellow bonnet lead pass through once. Beautiful footage, rare and wholesome!

Whoa, Everything about the video was fantastic!!! Clean Power, No God Damn Graffiti, Good Looking Trains. Lots of EMD Power running. Thanks for a look back to the good old days. Did I mention No Graffiti! Graffiti has just killed Railfanning for me! The one thing I like and it had to be ruined by the subhumans we have among us today.

Thank you for posting these videos! It's a blast from my past and brings back such good memories. My parents used to take me to Fullerton Station as a cheap source of entertainment when I was little, and I still thank them to this day for doing so. This of course caused my lifelong love of trains. I went back to Fullerton Station in October 2023, its definitely changed, but I love it! I forgot how bare bones Fullerton used to be, but that's part of the charm. Still love to see those hot Santa Fe trains ripping through Fullerton in the 80's! Your other videos are just as good, and still a blast from the past! The quality is quite excellent, what equipment were you using back then? Again, thanks for sparking some very beloved memories!

Absolutely splendid video!!!! EXCELLENT!!!! EXCELLENT!!!! EXCELLENT!!!! Great videography capturing a nice cross-section of freight cars that weren’t yet annihilated with graffiti. Much of the Espee power was still intact. And when you could hang out along the tracks and even camp. Truly one of, if not the best train vid that I have ever seen. This also pays great homage to two of the neatest railroads and one of the most beautiful locations to shoot them ever.

This was my favorite time in life for trains. I was 12 my father worked for SP . One of his jobs on the Oregon coast was to run in front of trains, from the coos bay depot to Florence or vice versa opening trestle's. If things were just right I could ride in the engine or caboos for over 80 beautiful coastal miles. I was so lucky and did not know it at the time. Those men were always so nice to me.

The best engines ever built. I ran those engines in passenger service on Amtrak and SP officers specials. Ran those Heels also. Never really liked the jeeps because you can't see out of them with the high nose. The fuel tanks on the 3200$ were spilt in half. Half water and half diesel. Later the tanks were modified to hold all diesel. Unfortunately all the units have been scrapped. These units were built in 1967 or 68. Great look back at Anacrime

Growing up from early childhood to adult, I lived in three regions of the West Coast where the Southern Pacific was a dominant railroad, starting with Klamath Falls Oregon, Citrus Heights California, between Sacramento and Roseville, and finally Redlands California near Loma Linda, Colton, and San Bernardino. I was always near a major SP yard or mainline, and developed a strong love and admiration for those big grey and scarlet six axal EMDs, such as the SD9s, SD40s, SD45s, and SD40T-2s. While I also saw plenty of Burlington Northern action living in Klamath Falls in the mid to late 70s, and seen my fair share of Union Pacific, and Santa Fe living in So-Cal in the 80s to the present, I'll always miss and have fond memories of the once mighty SP. Now my favorite RR is the UP, thanks to them bringing the most famous steam giant back to life, the Big Boy 4014, which is an awe inspiring sight to behold, as I got to see it three times in person, twice in Colton California, before and after it's restoration, and a few months ago in Ogden Utah, as I now live in West Valley Utah, which is a cool Frontrunner commuter train ride from Salt Lake City to Ogden. While I'll never see the SP in action in person again, I thank all the SP fans that have made videos of the SP doing it's thing, and showing them on YT, so a SP fan like me can relive the fond memories of those big grey and scarlet six axial EMDs roaring by pulling always impressive mile long or longer freights. For me the Southern Pacific never disappointed when putting on a show.
