Ravenholm… Half-Life 2 - Part 3 | from Valve
Zombies!!
We face 'em all in Ravenholm, a lovely place that needs a good ol' extermination treatment. We start in a small neighborhood and make our way through, finding various traps to use in our favor as we go.
These epic traps were laid by Father Grigori--a priest who's gone mad. Whom we befriend after he watches us navigate through Ravenholm, proving ourselves able.
Grigori hooks us up with a shotgun, tells us to 'aim for the head', and the rest is one of the greatest zombie battles in history.
Don't get me wrong, I was shaken to my core many times during this evening stroll through Ravenholm. Especially because of those absolutely nightmare-inducing Poison Zombies...
Disgusting...but we prevail beside Father Grigori. He opens the gate to the mines where we make our escape back into the rebellion, but not before just one more juicy trap to end the night.
Then, it's back to the cause, we face Combine Soldiers, and meet up with Leon and a group of rebels who are in contact with Alyx...Eli has been taken, and so has Judith Mossman...so Alyx gives us the objective to meet her in Nova Prospekt right away.
But we can't just walk there...it's spawning season for the Antlions, so we are introduced to Highway 17 by being given a fully loaded vehicle, with turbo, a mounted tau cannon, and an unlimited ammo cache. Perks of being Freeman babyyy.
I hope you had as much fun watching as I did playing this part.

My favourite detail of the late game is when glados says the paradoxes the cubes fry but Wheatley doesn’t. Implying that the cubes are smarter than Wheatley
lol poor Wheatley, dumber than a bag of rocks, I love it 🤣 GLaDOS’ consciousness is really impressive, though. I think I can trust her at this point, but there’s still more for me to discover. I’m super excited for the rest!

@@Psiopium sniper gud for special infected like smoker downsides is fire rate Shotgun is good against hordes and tanks downsides is short range short capacity ARs are good for long and short ranges, downsides is a little damage only

That is awesome, it did say “Get mad” and “Don’t make lemonade” while I was holding it 🍋 not sure if it says anything else…I may have dropped him too early. I wonder what would have happened if I placed it in the turret template spot in the next area?

I see, I played some more today for the video coming this Wednesday and things were said by GLaDOS when she heard Cave Johnson’s voice…had my mind reeling. I got as far where we meet back up with Wheatley, I stopped on his third test. She said something about “it’s happening faster than she expected.” So I’m excited for the rest! This game is so juicy.
Don’t let GLaDOS’ words fool you. Wheatley isn’t a total idiot. She’s just sour cuz he took over her facility, and wanted to guilt Chell for ever trusting him. His plan to use Chell to escape the facility was solid, and his plan to disable GLaDOS’ offensive capabilities was more effective than anything Aperture’s best scientists ever came up with. He’s not a genius by all means, but it would be inaccurate to call him a moron. Wheatley is just insecure and lets things go to his head, never thinking things through, and bottling up his emotions. Who could blame ‘em. Bro was born without limbs. If I was him, I’d also act recklessly if given a large amount of power.
Well said, Wheatley’s still my friend personally, fs. I do wonder, though, now looking back, was Wheatley sincere in wanting to take GLaDOS down and help us escape? Or was he using us the whole time? A genius playing dumb so we wouldn’t question his intentions..? I wouldn’t blame him for taking his chance when the opportunity arose but was there an ulterior motive or was he really trying to help us? What do you think? 🤔

This game was the first game I played with an actual story (the only other games I'd had played before were Lego and platformer games). I can't stress how amazing playing it was playing it for the first time
I couldn’t agree more, I didn’t know what to expect when I started it but it continues to blow my mind the more I play it! It truly is an amazing game, down to the finest details
