    Do you find humbuckers or singles better for that old slide sound? I like the brightness in general of single coils. Ive yet to see how my Jaguar does with its faraday cage singles and a slide. So far ive been after jazz and surf sounds with my jaguar.

    Nice setup and the music sounded really good but the video would have been a little bit better if you would've shown your setup and gave a little bit more detail about it I would have loved to have learnt more about that amp because I've never seen that particular amp before plus I would have loved for this to have been a how to video and I maybe could have learned how to play that song.. I am still somewhat new to cigar box guitar, and I am learning as I go.. I recently started building my own stomp box but then realized my amp only has one input Jack which does me no good for having a stomp box lol.. Right now I am currently using a small fender DSP amp, but I am looking at getting a positive grid spark to when they come out in October.. I am interested in that particular amp because it is rechargeable and portable plus you can download different amp models and foot pedals which would be awesome!

Check out some of my tutorial videos on this channel. They may be of help to you. I did not intend to make a video of this particular tune when I plugged my geetar into my amp that morning. I just wanted to try out the stomp box that I bought some time back. I recorded the audio on my phone app to see what it sounded like after mucking around with that tune. I don't even know the words to that song...I just made them up as I went along. However...the recording sounded pretty good I thought...so I took some photos of my geetar, amp and stomp box to make a little video of the tune. It's a really simple tune to play...so I may do a video tutorial on it down the track. Cheers Gazza :)

      Hi Craig. Sure you can and will! When I first started out trying to learn about 15 years ago...I was all fingers and thumbs. Absolutely hopeless at it. But being determined to learn it...I watched heaps of cbg videos and watched other players to pick up various tips. I figured that every day that I did not practice...was another day lost. I figured that you have to make a start sometime... you will never ever get there. We dont start out competentent. To get competent...you need to practice and make mistakes. Over time you will minimise those mistakes and eventually get competent.

    • @cigarboxgeetar9417
      @cigarboxgeetar9417 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do not use my left hand fingers to play on the fretboard to play chords or individual notes as a conventional guitarist might. I play all of my chords and single notes with the slide. These days I usually put my slide on my pinky finger if I am playing the geetar in the conventional upright position. If I am playing the geetar on my lap...I put the slide on my second finger. Playing in the conventional upright position...a lot of guitarists put the slide on their pinky finger(little finger.) Many such as Justin Johnson and Seasick Steve put the slide on their ring finger( 3rd finger). John McNair of Red Dog Guitars sometimes plays with the slide on his second finger. Dave Hole...rock guiiarist and blues legend puts the slide on his index finger. It reall comes down to what works best for you. There are NO rules when it comes to cigar box guitar playin. :)

    • @cigarboxgeetar9417

      Those Joyo pedals are great. I love my vintage overdrive pedal (green one). I have not tried out the gold one...but I bet its a little beauty too. Cheers Gazza :)

    Stomp box is? Let me guess. Some kind of drum? May be with piezo?

      Yes...you have got it my friend. Its a little wooden box with a piezo sensor in it that you plug into an amp and tap with your foot. It sounds great and helpd you keep your timing. I bought the one on my video...but I have made one too. Ptreety easy to make. Cheers Gazza.

      Thanks again my friend...I just love the fact that I can take a simple tune like that...add some stompbox to it...add a few words here and there...just keep repeating the same chords over and over...with a little variation here and there...and make a nice little soundtrack out of it. I f you care to go and have a look at a lot of my videos on this channel...you will see that I like to do the same thing on many of those videos. ITs a great formula. I am glad that it has inspired you too. Cheers Gazza:)
