The cover for this song is inspired by "The Two Fridas", which is a work from Frida Kahlo. In the original painting, it shows a self portrait of the two Fridas sitting in chairs. One is in a traditional European style dress, as her fathers side was German. The other side is dressed in a Huipil which is from traditional tribes from the center/south of Mexico, where her mom is from. Both their hearts are visible and are connected by veins, showing that this is one person with two sides. The European one has half of her heart missing, while the Mexican one is full. Also in the Mexican side, she is holding a portrait of her ex-husband which symbolizes content with what was, and moving forwards. The story in Rosalias Album is about a women entering an abusive and toxic marriage. You were mostly right with the handcuffs in saying how the were agreeing to be together but the woman was soon to find out the truth about her husband.

So the plot-this MV was inspired by several old animes. One of them is Volcano High. Not sure of the others. There is a new kid-Mingi. There are three main cliques/clubs-a biker club, a calligraphy club, and a baseball club. Each club is trying to get him to join them, but they want him to conform to their idea of what is cool. Then the bully shows up, and hits the book in Mingi’s pants. In Korean it says the equivalent of ethics/morals. The three groups then split up to fight (dance battle). The four members from the various clubs run at each other and the book appears in their hands. There isn’t a super good translation but it’s close to “this is cool.” Yeosang (wears the black and white suit) is the peacemaker. The moral to the story is for everyone to be their own brand of cool (you do you) but be humble and kind as you do it. One other fun fact-when each of the members say “This is my style” they are speaking in dialect (San and Seonghwa grew up speaking it). Jongho speaks politely at the end.

I think for dates embedded in videos they usually refer to the date the video was rated by an official channel before a debut or official comeback (so like MNET, MBC or SBS, etc.), so they usually won't correspond to the date when it's posted to the company/group channel (cause it has to be rated before it's released to the public - I think by law it's required). So like for Pirate King it would have been rated by MNET on the 23rd, but official debut is the 24th which is also the day it was posted to the KQ channel. And yeah, KQ is a relatively small company - Ateez being their first, and currently only, group. They do however house a really talented in-house production team which is why I think there is really high level in production for both title tracks and b-sides, and I think it's something that sets their releases apart from other small and mid-sized companies where often the most money goes to buying a title track, and less attention is given to b-sides (just my opinion).

the first time I saw them, hongjoong is my bias, he's the one who caught my eye very much ... energy, playing camera, his facial expressions are really charming I want you to watch their concerts, but don't be too quick, I want you to watch them from the beginning until now so the next song should be treasure personally, I really like this choreography I've been waiting for you to post clips about ateez all the time can't wait 🥺
