    Good tutorial, thanks. Since the KA-50 Black Shark III in DCS is a fictional helo, that doesn't exist in the real world, could we play the Shark II? Is it obsolete or deprecated, and if so in what way? Thank you.

      @SquawksHead 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi @racingtheweb. I would not consider the Black Shark 2 to be obsolete within DCS and I've had many hours of fun flying it as I have BS3. This being said, the upgrade to the BS3 was for me, well worth it. Some even consider it to be a more realistic portrayal of this rare attack helicopter. Certainly the extra A/A outboard stations along with the upgraded / integrated ODS makes it a great purchase - plus you get the newer 3D model.

    very helpful... i take it that if you target (use) a large building the cor-ord would be off a little... so the smaller the better or to use a corner? or doesn't it matter too much.

    • @SquawksHead
      @SquawksHead หลายเดือนก่อน

      @FoxyRedFoxFomo glad this video helped. I think if the target was smaller you'd get more accuracy but it would be harder to locate, so there is a balance to be had between an 'obvious landmark' and the precision of the error correction that you are trying to achieve.

      Ah, looks like one for another Video. We can indeed enter waypoints into the Abris but they will not populate the PVI-800 and so you have to add them there also. A quicker way to do this is to use the map editor to enter waypoints and they will both populate the ABRIS and the PVI-800.

    Direct mode is great for low flying through valleys, AP mode is better for operating with the weapon systems, hold trim whilst you manoeuvre then let go when you're facing the way you need to be, if you want to go full evasive, turn off all the AP modes and you become ultra agile and way easy to avoid missiles with the AP turned off.

    Let's say that I have some target coordinates. What am I supposed to do? If I enter those coordinates in the PVI-800 I won't see my target on the Abris and I won't know where the target is located on the map. This is bad. So what am I supposed to do in order to locate and destroy enemy targets, knowing their coordinates? Thx

    • @SquawksHead
      @SquawksHead หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have to plot the coordinates directly into the ABRIS or if flying your own missions you can pre populate the ABRIS with the waypoints you created. To manually input waypoints select 'PLAN' on the ABRIS (then SELECT and UNLOAD any previously stored plan), Click DRAW (use right dial to move cursor to coords) then click ADD. Once finished plotting all points, click ADD then ENTER then PLAN then ACTIV. Be sure to make sure the ABRIS is using Decimal units as described in this video. Hope this helps :)

How do I choose that airfield named fixpoint to flyover? ("FIXPNT" button + what?, like with fx1 it would be FIXPNT button + 1 (like in here). Complete game changer. I had about 7 hours in the Hokum but was struggling with it. This thing makes the Hind feel like a clumsy and top heavy flying armored school bus. This thing is like the helicopter equivalent of a nimble ninja assassin. Seriously, helpful. Thank you! So, this is how the aircraft is able to fly sideways, I assume. That is to say, it can fly “forwards” while facing 9 O’clock or 3 O’clock. I saw a demonstration of the real aircraft on YT. It was in Russian but had subtitles. The camera man and commentator where flying in an Mi-8 while the Ka50 kept up with it but was FACING it! Lol. I’ve read that this thing is meant to go out, stay low and kill enemy helicopters, act as recon and cause chaos for the enemy’s forward ground units. Little by little, I’m getting a better understanding of how it does that through your videos Edit/Update: I love this!! I’m a helo ninja assassin! I can use the tree lines and buildings to sneak around and pop out with my 30mm Shipunov. Great fun.

    Just picked up the BS2 on trial, BS3 not available. This isn't working at my end. First issue I have, as soon as I start forward flight the heads up display is automatically changing to another mode, doesn't look at all like your heads up, so I can't follow along. When I'm on the ground it looks like yours, but as soon as forward flight starts, the display changes. I fly solely in vr? Edit: Disregard, I cleared all categories of the binds that were set under controls, nothing was overlapping, duplicated, but it's behaving as you show in the video now.

    Hi thx you! In your options, do you use pedals trimmer? For the long distance, if you want to change direction, do you reset the trimmer before? I always have trouble with rudders.

    • @SquawksHead
      @SquawksHead ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. I personally use the rudder trimmer setting, so that I know when I trim, everything is set at that position. So basically with this on, every time you readjust trim, you need to also make sure you have set your anti-torque (rudder) pedals to where they need to be. Just be careful to recoginse if you have fully expended the rudder, especially if you are not using flight director mode. Remember, as per the video, there are 2 trimmer states. One (with flight director on) where you trim and then quickly return and all inputs (inc rudder - if turned on) to the neutral position and the other (flight director off) where you press the trimmer first and move inputs to where you want before releasing the trimmer.
