Wiring up Datsun 1200 electric heater
Was a slow weekend on the social front so I spent it wiring up my Speedy Air heater box to see if it even worked. That's another small bit of wiring done but now I have to figure out how the tubing for the defroster will run behind this dash.

    Hey, another great video. Thank you so much for putting so much work and detail on these videos. Initially, I was planning to install a ford 8.8 with a 4 link suspension (like in this video th-cam.com/video/ht2wn3Kwsjg/w-d-xo.html). However, now I am planning to use a 240sx subframe that was shorten. Also, in the front I am using the subframe of the 240sx, however, I am not done. I have a similar problem, my car is far far away. So, I can not work on it often... One more question, what are you using for the coilovers? Thank you

    Hello. Great job! Hey, do you have the part numbers for the gauges? Did you have to buy harness adaptors? Are you using the original SR20DET 3 speed transmission? Are you running a speed wire to the gauge or does it use GPS? For the rack and pinion what did you sue? I have a datsun 1200 in Costa Rica and I am trying to do something similar. Any help with be appreciated. Thank you

    • @Adz093
      @Adz093 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Eric, I don't have part numbers for the gauges. They are from Speed Hut so you can customise them on their website. I am using a 5 speed gearbox from an R30 Skyline. It is a fairly strong gearbox and is the same length as the Datsun 1200 gearbox. I used the rack from a Nissan Pulsar N13. It was then turned down more to fit. Any other questions, let me know :)

    • @Adz093

      I used a rear axle from an R31 skyline. It is a borg warner rear end. It needed to be cut shorter and fitted with new, shorter axles. Also the diff centre is the stock skyline 3.9 ratio and it has been fitted with a trutrac LSD@@erice5429

    • @Adz093
      @Adz093 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need custom gearbox mounts which is easy enough. I am using a SR20 bellhousing that has been fitted to the R30 gearbox. That allows for an SR20 heavy duty clutch. Also you will need a custom tailshaft to join the diff and gearbox.@@erice5429

    Why would you need this brace? Please explain

    • @Adz093
      @Adz093 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, the brace basically keeps the steering box in a stationary position so there is less flex when turning, which should in theory reduce the slop and play in the steering linkages. This will then make the steering feel more accurate and responsive when driving it.

    hello there. Question, I just noticed that your car has a rack and a pinion modification? Can you, please, provide me information about the job. I want to do the same to mine. What part are required (from which car). Any help will be appreciated. thank you.

      @Adz093 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Erick, I"ll do a quick video talking through the rack and pinion set up. I had planned to wait until I had tested it actually worked. It's basically a Nissan Pulsar N13 rack that has had the ends shortened. Secured behind the engine cross member and attached to the stock Datsun 1200 steering column. I have an electric power steering pump mounted at the back of the tray that will power the rack. I am hoping it won't have too much bump steer, but have yet to test this.

      @@erice5429 Mil Docientos is a very cool name for it :) Rims I am still working on, I will be putting in an order soon but haven't fully confirmed specs yet. For my diff I have an R31 skyline rear axle that has been shortened and fitted with an LSD. It has 3.9 final drive which it came with stock from the R31. I have also fitted R31 rear discs and calipers. I haven't done a 4 link but I would love to. It would be a cool set up. Rear suspension is new shocks and reverse eye leaf springs. Front suspension are adjustable coil overs custom made by a guy here in Australia. SR20DET front discs and rotors. Gearbox is an stumpy gearbox from a R30 skyline. Let me know if you have any other specific questions.

Because of the 8.8 diff I think I will need to go with 15x7 rims. I still have not idea about the offset. I am also considering to use 195/45r15, but up to this point is only a guess. One of my problems is that I live in USA but my car is in Costa Rica. So, I can not work on it often. If you have a good idea about what rim's measurements are the best I will appreciated. My car is an hour away from where I live, so it's a pain, but not as far away as you are from your car haha. That's far!
