Thank you and I whole heartedly agree with you, great comady performance from both Acting Royalty of the Classic Era in my humble view... If you are a fan of their work I know of 2 other films Gene Tieney and Tyrone Powers performed in if you appreciate drama: 1. The Razor's Edge 1946 2. Son of Fury 1942 - Gene was sensational in her performance. Both available on TH-cam if you've not seen them but no Colorized versions to my knowledge...

DONT put your child in boarding school!! what a cruel thing to do! I know a gal who was put in a boarding school bc her parents decided to go on mission work in Africa. Because of her years in that boarding school away from her parents, by the time her parents retired from missionary work, she had virtually NO relationship with them at all! the emotional bond was severely damaged and it never recovered, she never did have any kind of normal relationship with them at all after that. It BREAKS the bond between child and parent, its actually a form of TREASON in the childs mind, to leave them at boarding school. they feel they can never fully trust their parents again. Its NOT natural and its NOT GODS plan to raise children. FAMILY unit is the framework!!

Even back then, a beautiful home, a maid, doesn’t have to work, devoted husband, working hard to support family. She has nice clothes. And because he was away too much and she got lonely. If they had taken Bobby to counseling they would have known how much she missed her dad. I really think in this case, the judge should have asked her who she wanted to live with. The stepdad should know it was a package deal. He had no idea initially how close she was to her father. I was also closer to my dad and if they had ever divorced I would have wanted to live with my dad. Sometimes I think it’s personality. Too bad the dad was quick to dating. It would have given bony time to heal to just have her dad. At the same time, as Joan moved on, the father wanted to as well. And if Bobby got too comfortable, she’d never accept anyone her dad dated. If I were the dad, I would probably sacrifice that until she graduated high school. The divorce really affected her.

What a horrible movie. Mom and dad take off with new lovers and stick the kid who they're all tired of in a home because she's the one wrecking their lives. They really really don't want her , neither of them and make no bones about admitting it instead of giving her time and helping her adjust . Such a sad movie.

So Many Initial Comments - I have Added a HD & Colourised Version Details Below I just love this rare find… Well, rare to me at least. I know the narrative many will find most upsetting as I did initially but on reflection one has too take into account how many of us have unconsciously hurt those who love us the most. Not realising for many years… Possibly until we become more conscious as we develop as human beings! I feel that’s what these parents will come to realise as they grow in experience. I think it was a great piece of artistic work from the creators, writers and actors alike. Especially the young Sharyn Moffett - Roberta aka Bobby. Her performance was nothing short of sensational in my humble view and from her character’s point of view she has a blessing in her room mate whom had already transitioned from the initial hurt of her parents divorce and then being placed in a school for girls. Now she’s living life coming to terms with the fact she’ll now have to look after herself and she receives twice as many presents from having two sets of parents! She will be of great aid and comfort to Bobby moving forward and even encouraging her to trial for the basketball team… Bless Colourised: th-cam.com/video/EMGgGDZQJgc/w-d-xo.html HD 720p: th-cam.com/video/7XcoFaYb5IY/w-d-xo.html

I don’t know who got to live in these beautiful homes with servants in 1946 but I think it was upper middle class, just like today. That little girl’s room was my dream as a child but in a loving home with loving parents . ❤ I remember having one matching dress with my mom that was purely accidental and no one ever commented on it. So cute though. I didn’t know in 1946, divorce was so prevalent. My mom who was born in 1934, made it sound like divorce was thought of as shameful or an embarrassment. And having a kid out of wedlock.

It shows in this picture anyway how once they put her into a home for girls they pretty much kicked her to the curb and like has been said the children have to try to survive on their own. Try to make sense of the abandonment that they now live with, is horrible for them. This picture really shows that and the suffering that kids, endure, and so many of them live with that all their lives

Kids were great actors. So lovingly movie though its sad. My parents were not divorced but since my mom died when i was a child, my father never wanted me as his. I grew up knowing him as uncle and they had brainwashed me things about mom. At time my mom was buried its when I knew about her and about my uncle as my father, yet my mother was looking for me to extent of getting mental ill since they took me from her when i was 3 months old and she had just lost her 2 sons. She was chased from her home and they married new wife and took me way. I suffered all my childhood and sexually abused at minor age, beaten by everyone especially my abusers to silence me not to say anything about sexual harassments. Even in school, from age of 12 to 14 HM could have sex with me every morning and some evenings since no one visited me in boarding school. When I got tired and tried to report to my stepmom all they did will shock anyone who will read my comment. At age of 14 2010 , my father was forcing me into marriage with an old man imagine. I ran away and ended up on streets. And God sent me a white man, who became my father, my boyfriend, my mother and everything. He put me back to school and still traveled on his money, i may not be in touch with him but he changed my life. He was Australian and am a Ugandan. This movie reminded me of my past as a child withno parents

Hey your right too be sure and if I may expand... I love both of these classic British actors from back in the day. A few great classics I am sure you're aware of which I rate most highly and always recommend watching to anyone who will listen... Ronald Coleman's 1. Random Harvest 1942 2. Lost Horizon 1937 - Side note later rendition: Lost Horizon 1973 is one of the best films I've ever seen Dirk Bogarde's 1. Victim 1961 in colour (Special Treat for you Colourised version I found today!!! I will have to watch this later myself very soon. 2. The Stranger Inbetween 1952 with wonderful young actor performance from ... John Whiteley he reunited with him again (I'm sure you know again 4 years later) in 3. The spanish gardener 1956 Side note that young actor I think only made approximately 6 films in his career all great I feel especially: The little kidnappers 1952 - Which he filmed same year as The Stranger Inbetween! They used to knock movies out in no time back then...
