Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, Carter. When you spoke about friendships and being able to share our shadow side (without judgment), it seems that you're talking about and perhaps looking for unconditional love. Sometimes it takes a while for friends to process our shadow side when it's been shared, and others will never accept it. That's ok. Our friends come and they go, and we come into other people's lives and we go. Do we have to share all of ourselves or are there parts that we keep to ourselves, or share with someone who it's more appropriate or beneficial for our growth to share with, like a therapist or someone like that. Sometimes, we need to understand our shadows more deeply and with more compassion before we share them with others, if we choose to at all. For the same 24 hours in a day that Joan of Arc had, be kind to yourself, my friend. Someone once presented this question to me: What is something that you just can't shut up about? And do that thing in whatever capacity that brings you fulfillment. Be well.
