Family Planning Options with Choroideremia (CHM)
During this webinar, Mira Furgoch, a genetic counselor and CHM family member, provides an overview of the options and considerations CHMer's and carriers might consider when family planning. As choroideremia is an inherited, X-linked disorder, we will discuss the chances for CHM in the next generation with no intervention, and options that exist to lower the chances, such as preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), among others. This webinar is intended for the purpose of education to review all options that are available, and we acknowledge that there is no one right or wrong option for any one individual. The way you grow your family will be unique and take into consideration your own experience, values and so much more.

My daughter has choroideremia and now her son just got diagnosed with it also. My daughter's issue the Drs said might not progress. Now my grandson don't know. It's devastating

Thank you for posting this. I'm a 65 year old male, I guess I've been relatively lucky as my choroideremia has been slow onset, and although I stopped driving about 14 years ago, it was only in 2017 that I told my ophthalmologist that I was starting to experience real difficulties.

I have choroideremia and was recently told that gene therapy would not help me due to my vision being too far gone. The only hope is stem cell therapy. Can anyone please help me to find help.? Please.😞
