    There is a major problem with Storror’s community not being able to witness the mistakes. It allows their public to make up flawless scenarios in their minds. All without considering the consequences of simple errors. The notices at the beginning of their video’s & the reminders to not replicate what they’re doing, is not enough. Especially for the younger audiences that they accrue from their content type. We can have butchers cutting animal limbs apart, but not accidents & very real ramifications being shown. I pray for Storror’s team & their families, as should everyone. They’re out here living their dreams, let’s just pray they don’t push it too far & lose their lives in the name of content.

      As a kid I tried parkour. Started with frontflip with TH-cam tutorial. Fell on my back on sand for a good hour... Eventualky learned. Backflip ended hitting my head on the ledge of a pool while spinning back... Luckily nothing Major. Got real Lucky. A friend broke his arm and hasn't recovered fully after. He tried frontflip after me. I've heard of guys losing legs... Its scary shit we couldn't even imagine when teenagers...

    I’m pretty new to discovering parkour/free running and I’ve been wondering why I enjoy these videos and am inspired more by these guys than others - I think you’re bang on about the simplicity of it - it has a more achievable realistic feel to it. A lot of videos with flips, tricks and more gymnastic/acrobatic feel complicated and unattainable. The smoothness of the lines in the cavemen videos really stand out.

    If you see these injuries and keep doing parkour its cos you're either a youtuber that makes a living out of this, and is willing to destroy his body for money (I wouldn't for all the money in the world) or you've never injured yourself badly enough to realize that you should quit doing parkour RIGHT NOW before your find yourself in a potential future where u wanna basically end it all cos you quality of life went to shit cos you're injured and can't exercise properly. If you get to the point of having a real bad injury that prevents you from working out and staying fit/healthy, it is basically like feeling like you have an alcohol hangover all day long, every day, for the rest of your life, lactic acid buiklds up in your body, toxic waste accumulated and it not eliminated through sweating, this starts to poison your every fiber, your kidneys (lower back) begins to hurt from the inside, foul odors come from your body no matter how much you shower, you feel like shit all day, you brain is foggy and confused, your memory fails, your blood pressure increases and you feel cluster headaches that make you wanna end it all, etc. Good luck and I guess that by now you know what you should do.

    • @ChasePhillipp
      @ChasePhillipp 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Man that’s tough to hear that you are going through that, good luck with that. Everyone works different so certain approaches for movement will work better for different people, I guess this comment should act as a good reminder to athletes that things can happen, but if you are truly watching your body and working to be healthy through your movement(not recklessly pushing yourself), you can work towards longevity in your movement

    • @ChasePhillipp
      @ChasePhillipp 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also to clarify for any athletes, It is never okay to risk body health for fame, money, or any other selfish reasons. Please be smart with your body and follow a safe/slow progression using safe environments in order to train for as long as possible, or at least be able to do other things in the case that parkour isn’t necessary for you in your future

  • @humanbeing33
    @humanbeing33 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I used to do parkour, I am in my 30s now. Never do parkour, waste of time and precious health. Never do it unless we get to a point at which you can change your body like you change your mobile phone.

    • @ChasePhillipp
      @ChasePhillipp 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Seems to me that you must have been reckless with your body. As an avid athlete reaching my 20s I don’t feel any problems, but that’s besides the point. Many athletes around me that are older and much wiser have taught and helped me learn from their mistakes proving to me and others that reckless training is what hurts. Since you have come from the beginning of the sport, it is easier to have problems like this, but the sport has grown a lot since then. I regularly train with 25+ year old athletes and they seem to be doing fine although recovery periods tend to be longer for them if they overuse their bodies

    • @ChasePhillipp
      @ChasePhillipp 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Plus athletes from other sports experience the same things, it doesn’t matter what you are doing, being extremely active can take its toll, might as well be doing something you love😂

    • @humanbeing33
      @humanbeing33 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ChasePhillipp Well, all that i described up there is what happens if you don't exercise, and that can be caused by severe injuries, I stopped exercising at one point and begun to experience a lot of those things but I found a way to exercise and now I am relatively back to normal. That said I cannot run, or my knee will swell up, much less jump. I am into my 30s. I can tell you that what you love about parkour is the adrenalin that comes from doing it, among other things. All this you can experience doing things that are safer. You don't realize what being healthy means because you never experienced the opposite, I'm not talking about a flu etc, that goes away, you don't lose muscle mass by being sick for a week. One day you will understand what I say because we inevitably grow old and eventually die. Even Athean-X now is more focused on longevity than simply bulking up. Once you truly understand the relevance of having healthy joints, and how certain parts of the body wear out gradually and cannot repair, like the cartilage in your patella (kneecap) for example, if you truly comprehended this, you would immediately quit parkour. We are far from reaching a point in medicine where we will be able to regenerate such things, and they only wear out through your life. Some ancient cultures like in India and china, they figured out ways to live healthy, strong, and remain young deep into adulthood, and all their sports exert minimal joint pressure. Just try and ask these things to ChatGPT and you will see. How certain parts of the body never regenerate and only wear out and if you can slow down that process you will be able to enjoy walking, jogging and being active, sweating and being healthy and happy for a long, long time. Life is one, one life, if you throw it away there's no going back, no respawning, nothing. It's like walking on a tight rope between 2 very high buildings, if you slip you're done, dead. It's pretty much like that in many ways, better to keep your feet on the ground, look both ways when crossing the street, and being obsessed with proper form at the gym, going for walks, jogging a bit, not overdoing it and simply aiming for health. Want to experience adrenalin? There are better ways. I think parachuting is even better than parkour cos at least if you have a parachute accident you'll probably just die and wont have to face the ordeal of being injured. Good luck.

    • @humanbeing33
      @humanbeing33 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ChasePhillipp I truly tell you that I would LOVE if the neural link was a thing, so I could telepathically communicate to you from the core of my being, all my knowledge, and enlighten you while you are young and in time. This that I am doing right now, I would've payed all my money and publicly shamed myself and eaten feces from a public bathroom to get the opportunity to be on your place right now, and receive the teaching that I am giving you for free over the internet. But many are too dumb and foolish to understand, and to grab this information and write on a paper and paste it on your wall or mirror, forever to see assimilate and put into practice immediately. As I said before, your body has areas and tissue that only degenerate through life. THink of the tieres of a car, the more you use it, or grind it by hitting the breaks to hard and sliding with them, the more they wear out. Then you can change em, not your joints or cartilage, there's no cure, medicine is not that advance,d even by today's standards. If you wanna pretend like everything is alright and that those "25" year old dudes know best, go ahead, do it, I don't know you, I am not you, it wont affect me what you do. What I feel I should tell you because I would've given anything for, is my view on this. To me those 25 year olds, and even the President, or anyone else on the face of the earth, is neither superior nor inferior to me, I have a huge deal of self respect and determination. And I tell you this: You see how some old wise men have classic, antique cars from the 80's and they take deep care of them? They don't drive around without purpose, they go from point A to B, use it the right amount, and they drive it smoothly, and take great care. Their tires last a long time, cos they use them gently, they use the car, so that the motor doesn't stagnate, but they don't overuse it. Thats how you should treat your body immediately, train urself to be extremely acutely aware of all your moves, until it becomes second nature, etc. If you wish to chat further I am open, I am not here to save everyone, just those who have ears to listen. "The lips of wisdom are closed, except to the ears of understanding". Peace.

    The Office was popular with wagies/normies because it used "association" (office jobs) who do mind numbing (mostly pointless or bean counting) work for some absentee biz owner to allow the audience to make fun of the low IQ co-workers that the audience see in their workplace too. Wagies (audience) never connect that the show is making fun of the very people that watch The Office. Parkour is performance art, if people watch it and react to it, then the artist is conveying the art. Just because an audience exhibits less I.Q. than Koko the gorilla (~80 IQ) does not mean that the art is lacking. Use it as a launch pad to point out to the hecklers that they did watch and they did react (wave or give a thumbs up) . If there is a group of them pick out the leader and try to get him to try a few things (which he wont).

      Feel the same way, but doing this more than just for future success. I enjoy it and a few others do too! That’s all I need😁

    I don't know if I'm misremembering but didn't Sacha break his ankle, and then basically less than a year later had the leg break as well? Also Drew's leg break was so gnarly, still remember that scream 🤮

      Just did a quick deep dive and found this Storror video of Sacha coming back from injury, which seems to be an ankle injury but I wouldn’t completely trust my fast research. If you want to look further into it here’s the link to a Storror video that might help! th-cam.com/video/e_QGgUFqWIc/w-d-xo.html

      @@ChasePhillipp Yeah I have no memory of how it would’ve happened but sure there were 2 serious injuries in close succession! Also not sure if you can link join videos but you said they covered the leg break on one, afaik they hadn’t ever released footage of that injury though?

      I am not a join member so I just trusted a few sources on Reddit I heard it from, not sure if they only talked about it or if they showed footage🤷‍♂️

    Everything you said is spot on. Finding ways to support each other and look beyond our preconceived notion and let the art of this movement be our guiding mission. That’s how we move forward.
