If you're into miniatures, board games, RPGs, or anything in-between, there's something here for you. Being a gamer with ADHD, my interests are all over the place and I'm really excited to share it with you. And while there are tons of channels about the big names in the business such as Magic the Gathering, Warhammer 40,000, and Dungeons and Dragons, I try to focus on smaller games and companies that you may not have heard of, but from time to time I'll look at the big names as well. And with thousands of games getting released every year, even those small gems deserve a look.

I full scale Union Dropship would BE the map!
I been playing Classic off-on,... and I understand YOU are just talking an Unboxing, but,...Can I ask? I play AS now, but can't find much lore on the Madcat-S Variant. there was a brief bluurb' on it in an Ump-teen millionth TRO somewhere, but can you help me find more info on that One! and the Smoke Jaguar version of the Warhammer 2c, with the 2 LRM-15's?
That Rifleman IIC is looking good if the it wasn't bent barrels. I'm eventually going to get one of each box
One of the few cases where I'd prefer a IWM sculpt to reduce the chance of this happening.
Audio is really low mate
...This was less a "Halo Paint Stream", and more a "Ger tells us about his holiday!" ...lucky bast--! :P LOL!
I cant remember what I chose in my backing...it was 6 months ago, and Iv had covid and im a full-time dad... Iv always had a Love/Hate for the Grizzly... Its a Ghost Bear workhorse, by all accounts, but Iv always been annoyed with the cockpit...because it has always been one of the MOST VULNERABLE COCKPITS IN BATTLETECH HISTORY!!! It is literally located in the "central mass" of the Torso where the most optimal point of targetting is! It is such a poor choice!!! Its so fu--ing DUMB!!! ...But...its a CGB mech, its got some good variants, and it can also be customised for some good roles, too... That is a shame about the Rifleman IIC... I will say, that classic design with the anime pose...it totally looks like a "edo-period japanese monk" with the basket-head...but then its got the straw-hat of the wondering Ronin... I do kinda love it in so many ways! ...that being said, its SUCH a shame the mini turned out like that around the cockpit...but...thats too be expected from CGL, in my experience...
Bro...that Rifleman IIC is all jacked up. Such a shame, it was one of my favorite mechs out of TRO: 3055. 😢
The Ral Partha Sculpt of the Grizzly looks wayyy better. Also yes the arms are off scale.
The Direct Fire Star is very good value for money, 2 massive assaults and one big one as well as a very capable and large size heavy, and the Rifleman IIC is pure cheese! :D Great vid as I love how you show the old and new art :)
I have found this card supplement GM pack to be awesome for gameplay. I have even blown some of the graphics up for use in Gameplay as maps. It was worth the fair price to me.
gorgeous
Father of Tyra "WITNESS ME!" Miraborg
Pretty snazzy!
I wish somebody would make a ‘Mech scale Union that doubled as a carrying case. Not only would it save the trouble of having to tote it in addition to all your minis, but also because the map scale one is useless to Alpha Strike players.
Map vs mechs scale is a bit wonkey. If the units where all scaled together mechs and everything else would be a lot smaller, and the BA and infantry would be slightly round bumps on a hex base. Each Hex on a map is supposed to be 30m across. The only unit in game that truly fills those spaces are the map scale dropships.
I think you know what I'm going to say but thin your paints happy models awaits
Yeah I was gonna say this is pretty good. But the metallic is a Lil thick. Or maybe got too many coats. I did the latter recently and ended up having to use a drill to clean up the missile rack I'd accidentally filled all the holes in.
Sweet, Bryan! Lookin' tough and ready for battle, man! =)
Scale is everything I wish it where to scale for the the table. A Mech should not be half its height. It is a shelf queen just like the big Timber Wolf they made. Thanks for the show and tell.
You know how big that would be? Just put a soccer ball on the table. I like scale too, but they are just too big to use on a standard table. Or transport. Heck. The heroclick dropship s were carrying cases!
@@stuggaroy It's like in Warhammer 40k with the Warlord Titan everyone said they where to big to play but people made them and played them. The full size drop ship would make a great bit of game shop terrain or centerpiece for narrative play campaigns. That's what I would be interested in having it for that type of play.
For sake of reference, the actual scale of a Union is 13" in diameter. It's MUCH bigger when actually mech scale.
Yeah, It would be cool if they sold a full-sized one that you could use as storage. The 3D printed third party dropships also lack that function so it would be a nice premium feature
Is it just terrain or is it useable?
There are advanced rules for using dropships in BattleTech, Even grounded ones
@RecklessFables i can use a pinecone. This isnt what i asked. What i asked was if its usable, as in has a stat card and is it meant to be played or just used as terrain. You come off the wrong way...
Could you magnetise the legs
Jealous I couldn't afford one in the ks
1. I love the Union Dropships... Once our homegame expanded where our little merc unit had more NPC's and more assets to use; my Flyer unit (later LAM squadron) mobilised entirely from our own Union Dropship. I'd keep it orbiting as a defence satellite, deploying 13 of the 15 Fighter/Interceptors down for Aerospace support for the Mech teams, and the other 2 would be support for the Dropship if it came under fire. ...ah, "Recycler: Swanbourne"...she was a good ship! 2. I dislike that its not to scale with the mech minis... I am not a happy Space Pirate! ..also, I don't believe I got one as part of my backing...it was, ironically, "too expensive"... But hey! Maybe I'll finish BUILDING a LIFE-SIZE 1:1 scale Union Dropship before my BT:Merc rewards actually arrive!!! Fully functional, too! Probably easier to create Rocket Fuel then it is to get rewards from CGL!
NIce!!!
Can you use magnets instead of glue for the legs to make it more modular?
Good stuff buddy
Project Phoenix was mostly a miss for me. The artist did struggle with perspective, first of all. A lot of the designs don't feel mechanical enough. I think the guy was just throwing shapes at the problem. Most of the mechs look like they have bell bottom jeans. Also, I'm not a fan of the fact most of them have skinny upper arms and upper legs, pointy toes, or too many sideways facing toes on the left/right sides of the feet. Last, the heads sometimes don't look like cockpits. Many heads even look like Cobra Commander face shield.
Very nice! The Stooping Hawk/Stoopid Hawk is actually one of the best medium 'mechs designed, each config is role specific but they're all usually darn good! Lovely work on the paint job :)
This is where we see the great work of the new redesign style of the new sculpts.
oh this came out great, very nice print too!
I dont blame the artists I blame the art director. And no I only remember hate and suffering. Im judging you :p
Some of the stuff in Phoenix was very hit or miss, mostly with a lot of misses, but they had to do the whole "I want a Marauder!" "We've got a Marauder at home!" thing, the configs at the end are neat even if some of them look terrible but i'd still say this was the 'good 'ol college try' at getting them in without getting them in.
I absolutely agree. I literally went in expecting to just dump hate on everything, but I think my flip through actually softened my opinion of them. There are absolutely some horrible results (I’m looking at you Marauder), but I think overall I may have been too harsh.
The things at the end of the barrels would normally be called muzzle brakes, but I'm not sure why a PPC would need one, so call them recoil compensators or something. The mantlet is the armored shroud over the barrels at the point where the weapons meet the turret. I really love the new Demolisher.
Very nice work! Simple but effective :) Love the sharks teeth!
lovely print and paint job!
Oh for the love of god... why? (same reation to dark age).... This is torture... (yes I have a copy)... Lol. Nice video! (Also you are not alone in your opinion)
This was inspired by @saraphys5555. I mentioned all the Project Phoenix stuff I was encountering doing some other miniatures reviews, and he suggested the title. At that point I had to. It was fun to do. Thanks for watching!
@@GamingWithADHD Lol I have the Marauder and Variants of Marauder II - because marauder - they are still in pieces... I would really love to see the day when they have an Artist who also loves the material and lore as we do. Also prior to this I had the 3058 TRO (the behemoth on the front cover look awesome, the massive small laser on top...) and I was not a fan of the art there, till I got the project pheonix tro.
This one is damn good
Thank you!!!
I think this is the one to get if you're only going to buy one box of tanks. You've get two iconic heavy tanks with cool gameplay niches. And two different hovertanks for scout/cavalry use.
oh this came out GREAT! :D
Thank you! Sorry it took so long for me to actually do! 🤣
The split tread demolisher is the earliest variant iirc dating back to battledroids. I like that the modern miniature references that in its side armour
No such thingas too few A/C 20's (now to get a few more to make a gauss variant), Poplular Mechanics had a nice art for Hover vehicle paint scheme (1960ish). This is one of the few sets I got multiples of.
2:35 Im not nervous about being rotated out... I wanna talk about Magic of Eberron & Secrets of Xen'drik!!! ...just on a mechanical side, we have the introduction of Schema, Artifact Spells, new Materials, and more unique Eberron setting Spells! Dude... there's an 1st level Infusion for the Artificer called "Ablative Armour", where you can give the targets armour a Damage Reduction of DR 5/-, with it increasing by 5 every 5 Caster Levels to a max of DR15/- at CL10... Damage Reduction 15/-!!! That is SOOO powerful!!! And Schema!!! Magical rod-like devices that can store power, that can be used 1/day...and the CL its cast at is dependant on the CASTERS level, not the makers... Or Artifact Spells...Ancient Giant spells that a normal person can only use once in their lifetime, but are cast from 1st-4th level spell slots, but do EPIC LEVEL numbers! ...ok, ok... Do your "paint stream"... *sigh* 😛🤣 25:00 *Sigh* It figures you'd have trouble with your "Blues"... Church is "Cloud Blue"...so I slighty-light-ish Blue... Caboose is Regulation Blue... Tucker is Teal or Turquoise... Tex is Dark Green boardering on Black... Doc is Regulation Purple...y'know...because its a perfect blend of Red & Blue? Hence "neutral"... hehehe... ...althought, there is also Grif's Sister, "Sister", whose Yellow and joined the "wrong side"...lol... Actually, probably shouldn't have Tex in there, because she's like Florida & Wyoming, a Freelancer...so technically she's not part of Blue Team, so should do Doc there instead... ...which is funny, because technically Blue Team is only 3 members, while Red Team is what? 5 people at its core? Sgt, Simmons, Grif, Donut, Lopez, and Sheila...because the Tank switched sides to be with her beloved Lopez! LOL... And that's just the first 5-odd seasons!!! ...What the hell was this show???!!!
Lol brings back memories, Imagine this you just read decision at thunder rift and you have TRO 3050 (the original one), trying to figure out my Ricol cannot shoot at Grayson's Shadowhawk... then you find out there are other TRO's.
Second video I have seen of yours and solid stuff, going to give you a sub.
That looks fun to paint. Keep up the good work!
16:17 I think you're trying to think of the word "Rangefinder"? Because that dome on top is probably its Sensor Suite... I think it was one of the Mech Commander games that actually let you substitute a Mech for 2 vehicles (unless it was a heavy, in which case, one), and I always thought that was pretty kool...up until the point where Vehicles just get one-shotted all the time by the AI in missions, and it felt like a waste... Other then that...yeah, pretty already... . .. ... Still gonna play in my alt-Battletech/Macross and reskin shit with its Macross versions, though...including the UNSpacy tanks! LOL!
I missed this live episode.
C3 lrm carriers are hilarious
