Finishing an End Grain Cutting Board | A Wedding Gift for Christine and Danny
Hi, i have the same machine and have a problem: the circular saw cannot be lifted completely, it s veri hard and than it stops before get the complete "extention". I suppose a cleaning is required but.. the screw is very hard te reach. I don t find in your videos how to do it. Any idea? Thanks
@@l0pez83 can your saw tilt to 45 degrees? That may give you better access. Another thing to do is raising the shaper motor all the way up and try to reach from the rear hatch. I remember if you remove the function selector panel, you may have somewhat access to lifting screw. This machine has poor access to a lot of parts mainly because it’s basically 2 machines bolted together so you lose 1 side of access from each machine.
@@Fusion_Woodworking Many thanks for your answer, yesterday i did exactly this, putting the saw 45 degree and taking electrical box out.. the condition of screw was surprising good.. i really don t understand what s the problem, i cleaned all up but in the last inch the screw became very very hard (need two hands to lift the saw).. i will studi further. If i undrstrand why this happen i ll let u know. Thanks for help
You are welcome. Try a few things and eliminate each viable, take the blade off, disconnect dust collection hose from bottom of saw blade shroud, tilt blade at 45 and raise it. Maybe the hose got caught by shaper assembly, maybe something got jammed behind the shroud.
@@Fusion_Woodworking I have done many of those things.. I'm in contact with fielder s technician. His answare is: Did you also greased the spindle? If yes , and the problem still persist then it could be the spindle, maybe it is damaged or bent, it could also be that any of the cogwheels are defect. I suppose they generally replace pieces who it's always faster and make more money for felder... I ll let u know. Thank you very much
I would of try to pickup that 608 flat top Bed Rock plane to get closer toward completing my Bed Rock collection. Need 4-1/2, 5-1/4 and 8. 24:50 That is plane blade sharpening jig.
Yes, I bought that jig after I finished recording all vendors. I have 602-608 and 602C to 608C, all flat top but not the same types, including fractions. 605-1/4C was never made so I don't have that. I hope you can finish yours soon and be very happy to move on to the next thing to collect.
Too many planes. Need more variety in tools work on your verbal delivery keep your voice up maybe edit final table some.
Thank for watching. My voice was adjusted to -6 to -12 dB in post which is pretty standard on broadcasting. When I am in near other people, I tend to speak in a lower volume to not bother others. I also transcribed the video and typed the entire subtitle to add any voice irregularities.
Brotherman, i like your content. Im about 30 minutes north west of Corona, CA... where is this and how often do they have this swap meet?
I seen the information in your description. Thank you for the information. I was hoping that it was more often than twice a year. Do you know of any other swap meet similar to this? Thanks in advance.
@@jaes9091999 the other 2 I go to will be in Culver City and San Diego. Info also in description. I’ve been to Beaumont swap meet once and didn’t find many tool related things.
@@jaes9091999 I’m glad you like this content. Thank you.
keep moving too many planes
90 % of the same
@@danielmayorga4812 if you go to every tool meet every time, you do see a lot of repetition. The same applies to driving to shopping plazas off a freeway and you see a lot of the same things.
Good thing I am too far away and really don't know where this is at. It would empty my fun money account. 17:19 I got several boxes of Fine Woodworking magazines 5/6 years ago for couple bucks at an estate sale. It was last day and they didn't want to move it.
Twice a year at Corona Heritage Park and Museum. I’m starting with 1981 issues of FWW magazine. That’s a lot for now.
For most part, people aren't interested in hardcopy. I supposed, if one holds on to it long enough and keep it in good condition, it will worth something someday. Fine Woodworking magazines is what I have hold on to (100+ issues)? I got rid of the others via eBay.
For me just the 1981 issues are special because I was born in that year, and that was the excuse to buy something. I didn’t buy the jar cover book because I felt the styles in those are different than what I want to make. Not better or worse, just different.
I'm jealous. 😮
Thank you for the comment.
Where is it? Exactly in San Diego.
Rockler parking lot.
The videos are interesting and fun to watch. Thanks for sharing. Do you know if the dates for early 2025 is set yet?
@@haraldolsen5724 thank you for watching. Schedule of each event is posted on their website. Links in description.
Hi. Nice videos of your restoration. I have a Hammer c3-31 and need to replace the internal dust collection ducting. I have found plenty of info about how the duct fits to the machine, but no info on which parts of the machine I need to dismantle in order to access the duct. I didn’t just want to start taking the machine apart unnecessarily, if there is a better solution. Cheers.
Slide the table away, remove the blade cover, you should be able to see the dust collection hose on the blade side. The other end should be secured with 4 screws from the back. I replaced mine with rockler dust right blue hose, and 3d printed adapter to use with my rockler 4” handle.
Crap, I was going to go to this one, but it slipped my mind. Saw so many things I wanted. Is entrance free? What about parking?
Plenty of metered parking spots that are free before 8. All tool meets are free in SoCal. Next one is in Corona on September 14th.
Enjoyed the video.Thank you
When is the next meet ?
Information of 3 locations in description. 14th Sept 2024 in Corona
Wow. Beautiful group of tools
Why would anyone go to San Diego unless they’re being held at gunpoint?
21:15 how much for the #1 plane? I can't read the tag.
I just realized I can pinch & zoom. It looks like $2,000?
@@josephhaddakin7095 Yes, that's the asking price.
@@Fusion_Woodworking that's a pretty decent price. It looked to be in really nice shape, as long as it has the correct parts.
I live in Riverside County & went to that show about 15 years ago.
The Corona one is on September 14th, 2024. You can find the information in my video description. That should be very close to you. The one in Culver City is August 17th, 2024. Not sure if you wanna make the travel. This vendor only goes to the San Diego one if I remember correctly. Next San Diego tool meet is November 3rd, 2024. I do not believe the No 1 was sold on Sunday, so very likely you will see it then.
I wonder if that "meat tenderizer" is really meant for breaking up block ice? Just a thought. Thanks for showing us these events.
I could be. One of the reasons I go to these tool meets is to see things I am not familiar with, and I can find something interesting everytime.
Great video! Very nice job recording this. Who is buying these things? There didn't seem to be very many customers, although there weren't many overall views. Maybe there is a larger market for tools in the Midwest where homes have basements. Plus the boomers were more into this stuff than millennials and gen-zs, as high schools don't offer many 'shop' classes like they did 40+ years ago. We've become too much of a throw-away society; things are built to throw away rather than fix. For some reason, seeing all these wonderful tools but relatively few buyers made me feel sad. I agree, you have excellent style. Thank you for the walk-around. I'll try to get there this Sunday.
I usually get to tool meets early so most stuff is not sold yet, and I try not to record other people so I avoid crowded spots. I do not stay there for the entire duration so I can’t answer how many people show up every time, but it seems to have more people than pre COVID-19 era. If you go there, you will be surprised by the age span of attendees. Glad you like this video and looking forward to getting more people to these events.
Thanks for uploading these. It helps me see how much fun I'm missing out on in the tool world.haha. Where are you from originally?
Glad you like this video. I am from China.
@@Fusion_Woodworking cool. I thought I heard you and a friend speaking Mandrin. I'll definitely be watching all of your videos. I have a channel as well. I do a lot of live unboxing videos. Please go check them out. I eventually want to do restoration videos as well.
@@triune_blades I watched you unboxing parts from MJ. I will do some restorations as well since I also have a bunch of planes, but haven't got the chance.

I am currently not buying tools for others. ebay is not a bad option but it usually costs more.
I really enjoyed your effort of restoring the c331. I have the same machine as well. Do you know how to relocate the the start/stop button close to the slider? or add a remote start? I found that start/ stop button in the current position is well far reach. thanks again.
I use emergency stop for that purpose, which is not ideal, because you can't start the saw from that position. I think we are onto the same thing. I do plan to add a parallel magnetic switch, but there is a lot of electrical stuff I need to research and experiment first. Thanks for your comment btw.
@@Fusion_Woodworking Thanks. I am hoping you can share if you do the parallel magnetic switch. BTW, did you finish restoring the machine?
@@jamesc4362 I will. Restoration is not complete yet. Latest edited episode is part 6. My recorded footage covers a little of reassembly and modifications. Thanks for the feedback. I try not to show other people. I had peole asking me not to record their voice, body parts, or tools for sale. I know recording audio and video in public space is totally legal but some pole do not like that. you should do a article on motor and switching problems as Felder isn't much help here in Australia .
I did notice one thing. If I engage the safety lock for blade cover, my Hammer will not turn on at all. in my last project, I had to leave the safety lock at off to use the machine. Is that the same issue you are talking about?
do you mean the sliding cover that slides in a groove parrallel to the main table and in turn you then pull the knob up to slide over the micro switch that allows you to open the back door at the rear of the machine@@Fusion_Woodworking
@@pkd6369 yes, that cover. But mine works the opposite way. If the knob is up locking the cover in position, machine won’t turn on. I have to leave it down so cover can slide back out to turn machine on. I haven’t got the chance to fix that.
This is a great looking cutting board.
Thank you.
I wish I had the Garage to actually fit something like that in (I'd also need the money not only to buy it but also get it shipped) Unfortunately tools like that are rarely available in Australia, especially 2nd hand, the only people who have heavy duty machines are Cabinet makers and lumber suppliers
Pros usually have a bigger sliding table saw without jointer/planer combo. This machine in Hammer’s lineup is for hobbyists like us. It takes less space than getting 4 machines separately. Hope you find a good deal on it.
