Marc Mellits is an American composer and musician. His works are inspired by minimalist and rock music. This juxtaposition of styles can be seen in a multitude of works composed by Marc Mellits in both duo and quartet settings. Such works include Red (2008/18), Black (2008/11), Frost (2011), and Ex Machina (2016).
Tachycardia (2014) was written for two alto saxophones, commissioned by an international consortium led by Dave Camwell and Stephen Page. Since its initial instrumentation, Tachycardia has been written for other like instruments including the clarinet and the flute.
