i am poor guy too, but i see that modern software can really be a strong tool. you can build models and check the existing ones in programs like Space Engine, Celestia, KSP. If there is a lie, the program would fail to account for some oservation in reality, but if the program built on the true data from real world it would work fine and even predict the observation before you can do them, i think?
