Simple Oru Bruin Build-Out in 2013 F150
Here's how I have my Oru Bruin camper setup on my 2013 Ford F150 with the 6.5' bed. I didn't do a permanent self contained install, I kept it basic and easy to setup and take down so I can still use my truck bed for truck bed things.

This ceiling fan came installed on my Oru Bruin Camper so in this video I’m going to show how I wired it. Pretty basic stuff but maybe it’ll help someone out there. One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that the DC5521 port on the Ecoflow Delta 2 has a max current output of 3A. This fan pulled 32W on the highest setting which is 32W/12V = 2.66A so no problem there. The tools and supplie...

I’m replacing the stock cam cover with Drag Specialties part number 0940-0784 on my 1993 FXR. The chrome on the stock cam cover is flaking off so rather than remove the chrome and either rechrome it or polish it, I’ll go the route of a new cover since it was only $150. I was concerned with the reaming of the cam bushing and the alignment between bearing and bushing on the DS cover so in this vi...

Forgot ask which cam ?
@@nickthinkpainting1978 Dave Mackie 580 cam
Is this your bike , if so was it a built 80” or stock. What made you go 89” and instead of a 111 SS.
@@nickthinkpainting1978 Yeah this is mine. It started out as the stock 80”. I went with a 89” vs the 111” because I wanted to keep the VIN matching, that’s it.
@ I’ve had many FXR”s I’m old lol. My current one is 99 FXR2 with a built 80”. But want a bit more giddy up. I’ve had a couple of 111”s and a 98” SS stroker. But I’m 68 now still twist it up good though. Was thinking of the 89” with the Mackie cam or just keep my EV- 27.
What cam did you use ..nice work 👍🏻🇺🇸
@@nickthinkpainting1978 Dave Mackie 580 cam
Been couple years you still got the bike how’s it running..
@@nickthinkpainting1978 Yeah still have it, runs strong and plenty of power. Everything has held up just fine. Been meaning to change the gearing on it though for more highway speed.
Hi Matt which bug net is that looking for one for my 10/Fold
@@DuckbumSD I searched for a magnetic screen door on Amazon and found some brand called Yotache. I got their 64” wide x 80” long version and trimmed the length down. The width was perfect. I also stapled the ends of the magnet openings shut so the magnets won’t fall out after I cut the length down.
Very useful video, love the barn doors on the camper!
Keep them coming Matt!
THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME DOING THIS, THAT NEW CAM COVER IS GOING TO BE SCRATCHED UP LOOKING LIKE THE OLD ONE BEFORE YOUR DONE FLIPPING IT AROUND SAYING GOOD FIT THATS A GOOD FIT , HOW MANY TIMES MORE, JUST PUT IT ON
NO IT’S NOT MR ALL CAPS. WHO CARES HOW IT FITS, RIGHT? JUST SLAP IT ON. And looking at your channel, when you’re done with your balloon business because you must be a clown, record a video of your next engine build that you rush together.
Did you install this fan or did ORU install?
@@Exe.6000 Oru installed it.
@ so all we have to do is do what you’re doing in this video. Ok thanks for clarification and thanks for this video! I will def be needing it 😂
@@Exe.6000 Yeah just wire it to whatever 12V power source you have.
Hell yeah!
Is the cam cover still working out for you? I'm considering going this route rather than finding a someone who can replace and ream my cam and pinion bushings.
@@kevinpham7559 I don’t have any signs of misalignment between the crankshaft and the cam cover. So far so good.
I just had a bushing fail Runout on the pinion shaft was 0.001.5 , Im getting a New cone the bushing ate up the cone bad pulling the oil pan cleaning it . I had 15,000 miles on the bottom end and redid the heads did 5000 miles last summer and everything was good . went out New years in 10 degree and think it was to cold oil not flowing I killed the battery had to jump the bike it stalled out 3 times , I have only road 500 miles since new years day and the bushing failed the cam and cone and breather all got done when i did my bottom end 20,000 miles ago . im hoping it was a case of thick oil not flowing and took out the bushing .
Yeah sounds like it got super hot and the bushing seized on the shaft? Hope the new cone is all it needs.
@@matkinson64 Did New Cover cam cam bearing shims lifters and set up my cam at 0.012 end play . Took it out today was easy on it but all the bad sounds are gone lol
@@JCcanU Right on! Did you account for the gasket crush for the cam end play measurement? Or measure after the cone was torqued down? Just curious what your process was for that. I think I ended up at .014 end play with my shim set after all said and done. Ride safe!
@@matkinson64 Crush I use the Steel gaskets with the rubber I crush them under torque take a reading I had 68 thousands had a 55 th shim I was shooting for 13 , ended up with 12 It is all good torque 10 pounds . You never get the same crush using a dial caliper as you do torquing down the cone . Using a Thrust washer and cam the Thrush washer has the ears on it 65 thousands thick gos to the cam bearing with the flat side up . 2 thousands by math and 6 thousands from torque can burn up a bearing . i check it after its torqued .
Can't wait to go
Love it. I just did this in Asheville, NC last week and had a blast!!! Ford does a great job with this program.
Awesome, yeah they do a great job with it. Would be fun to do it again but at the Asheville location.
That looks like fun! I'm in Eagle mtn. I'd love to head up and do this someday.

Hey bro I know this is an old upload but I was just wanted to know what size shocks your running there?? I want to run taller shocks on my Low Rider S but not sure what size I could push to. Awesome bike and great numbers with the Fatcat man!! 😎🤙🏼
I have 13.5” Ohlins. And thanks, bike is still running nice and strong! If you have clearance issues, you could probably run a spacer and a longer bolt at the exhaust bracket and push the pipe away from the swing arm. I didn’t have to do that, I have clearance.
@@matkinson64 Thanks for the quick reply bro! I was looking at the 13 inch ohlins piggyback as they will wind out about another half inch if required are those what your running or are yours? I’d was hoping to do 14inch but I’m thinking might be too much with the pipe.
@@chunkyfxdls1878 Nah I don’t have the 13” piggybacks, I have 13.5” STX36 shocks. Up front I have Race Springs and their gold valve emulators, still need to get +2” fork tubes to level it out with the rear.
@@matkinson64 oh right they must the anodized/black ones I wanted the blackline ones in 13.5 but they only do them in stock lengths. That’s why I’m looking at the piggybacks unless I could get a 14inch on. I’d probably go with the legends then.
@@chunkyfxdls1878 Nope, they’re machined finish with black springs. Got them from Speed Merchant, he can set you up with the length you want.
How tall are your shocks? Any clearance issues?
Bradley Rayfield I have 13.5” shocks and don’t have clearance issues.
Matt Atkinson sweet, trying to decide on a pipe and was curious planned on doing 13.5 shocks as well
What gains did you get going for a supertrapp to the D&D ? Cheers
I got it tuned after I did all the engine work and with the Supertrapp, got about 100hp and forgot the tq. The tuner said the pipe was way to restrictive for the port job on my heads so I got the D&D. Got 123hp/132lb-ft after I swapped the pipes. The Supertrapp is good for stock engine/heads but becomes a cork once you start porting everything on the engine.
Matt Atkinson awesome to know. I’m having restrictions with my supertrapp and been looking for something with better flow up too. I got 129hp/124tq with supertrapp and hoping for a better tune as I got same reading with my 107” as I have with 117”. So great feed back. Much appreciated Mate
Do you have suspension clearance issues with that exhaust looking to get taller shocks but every else seems to have problems with that fat cat not clearing axle
I have 13.5" Ohlins and it clears the swingarm, probably about 0.5" clearance. Send me your number and I'll text you some close up pictures if you want.
Most people post their standard (STD) numbers. The SAE is more of a real world dyno number and the STD is more inflated than actual when matched with actual performance and real world parameters.
Correct. Which is why I posted the SAE numbers with a correction factor of 0.97.
Nice video by the way!!!
What kind of seat is that?
It's a Corbin Widowmaker seat.
Any update on the tune on this beast
Mike Daniels Got it dyno tuned last week and it made 123 hp, 132 lb-ft. It pulls hard and has tons of power. Need a new clutch because it's slipping slightly at full throttle.
what tuner are you using?
AntsInMyEyes I'm using the Dynojet Power Vision.
Matt Atkinson I have the power vision and fuel motos air cleaner. Fuel moto sent me a map with the power vision. Did they send you a map for the big bore kit? I'm thinking about doing the fuel moto 110 kit for my 09 fxdc. How do you like it so far?
AntsInMyEyes Yes, Fuel Moto sent me a base-tune map. I'm going to get it dyno tuned with this new pipe on it. And I like it, has way more power than stock. Gets up and goes without effort.
Up The Irons ! Yeeeeaaahh
yes
What baffle is in the Fat Cat?
SidSirGalahad It's the perforated wrapped baffle.
Sounds good
Dan Rizzo Thank you. I changed the pipes to a D&D Fat Cat kit yesterday and uploaded a new video.

nice vid, i live like 15 minutes from there, how much is it to run a rc truck there? what are the hours
@naamanb There's no set numbers for any given year, they all vary. I've seen stock numbers as low as 360 and as high as 400 for the 03/04 Cobras.
Why does the '04 have 397rwhp/371tq...and a bone stock '03 cobra has 387rwh/381tq? why is there a 10hp deference in 1 year?
397RWHP?! HOLY SHIT!! This needs a Highest Rated Comment!
