This is the way i mostly play when i want to explore new sounds and rhythms. Playing with no goal in mind and let the subconscious do some work. This results alot of times in new things popping up which is alot of fun and further develops your repertoire :)

I just got a stack of black walnut. Some is straight, some is curved. Now I don't have 15 years to season the wood in my basement. What's the minimum amount of seasoning time do I need before I can start creating a Didgeridoo? About 8 months? Second question. To glue the pieces, did you use wood glue or something else? Thanks in advance
Thanks for your comment! Well, i would let the wood dry for one year at least. Otherwise you might risk cracks. Also the oil can penetrate fully with dried out wood. Let the bark on, seal the ends with wax and put the sticks in a cellar or a dark room with steady, not to high temperature. For gluing i use waterproof wood glue. Hope that helps and happy didgin 🙂
good video
WOW
If you give more details such as the type of wood you use and the measurements, I would be very grateful.
Thanks for your comment! Really appreciate it! Measurements are in the comment section. Someone already asked. Wood is beech wood, dried for many years...
@@didgeridoothedeepmechanics Thanks bro

I love it 😍
I love this particular sound. Much love ❤️ 🙏
Thank you 🙏❤
Very nice and much appreciated
Hi I made over 20 didges in a similar fashion. Made my last one about 10 years ago. Gave most of them away. First one in 1992 in Fiji on a very small island with just 8 of us. None were cannibals as far as I could tell. Well I'm still here.
Nice! Did you let them soak in oil as well?
@didgeridoothedeepmechanics no. My first one I made with all handtools and chisel. Still have it
Now that raised my vibration.. music is love 🐰 ❤ thankful
wow very cool !! love it ! Ist seems to be a very hard and controlled tongue ! Great. my highest respect
Thank you! Its a complex movement of the tongue, like a waveform. I explain it in this tutorial: th-cam.com/video/HKFtgdUBPIg/w-d-xo.html
I'm having trouble, I get a couple of wobbles then it goes away. I've been stuck like this for a long time
Are you trying my method as explained in this video?
Yes I just seems to miss it. Drone is strong, cheeks working, maybe it's not sharp enough.
@@user-ib5ss4dt4y I assume you might put too much energy into the excercise (drone pressure, cheek pressure) overloading the muscles. Try to play the excercise with less force and relax. It takes time to develop the muscle strenght and muscle memory. I needed years to learn that, so dont give up and practice every day but dont overdo it. You will get there buddy! How long do you play the Didge?
@@didgeridoothedeepmechanics Thank you for the advice, much appreciated. I've been playing off and on for 15 years. Not seriously.didgeridoothedeep, will you make a video on animal callsl?
@@user-ib5ss4dt4y I use the voice in my playing but no animal calls, so no. But there are good tutorials on that on YT.
Worldclass Loved every minute here!
Thanks mate, appreciate your comment!
Could we get more info on the audio-visual equipment being used?
Sorry, dont have any info on this.
Gonna try this now. Thank you for sharing.
Have fun :)
Geil!
Very helpful.
some weeks ago i found your movie and it worked for me partially. But is wasn`t satisfying me. Sometimes a little bit frustrating because it looks so easy and i felt like a idiot. Today I went back to your movie took a beer and tried it again and it makes CLICK ! Now it works !! I'm so happy .... ! My wife is impressed. Thx Man - I love you. Thx for this great help and now another level is open for me !!
Thanks mate! Happy that it works for you. Sometimes a beer can make the difference 😁
💚👏👌
great stuff ! and it would be great to get more like this. Your way of explaining - "everyone can do this" and how to practise is very helpful. thx again ...!
yeahh i got the basic - but it doesn't sound so clear and rythmic like yours .... I can circular breathing and i always breating in between
great thing - thx -now I'm no longer hesitating to play faster ! thx man i love you
You are welcome :)
Hervorragend erklärt.
Danke :)
Buen video, muhas gracias. Suena bastante agudo, no ?

Thank you ❤️🙏
Are those natural colour powders are water soluble?
Yes. I mix those with water and woodglue.
Namaste 🙏 Sir, Receive Greetings from India 🇮🇳💐 It's great to listen music, watch making divine inspirational instrument ,and above all observing the way how you make this divine instrument 🙏 my query is what is the mouth piece inside and outside diameter? Kindly let me know 🙏 Regards Mahesh (Mumbai INDIA 🇮🇳
Are those natural colour powders are water soluble
@@maheshprabhu1557 Namaste brother 🙏 Thanks for your comment, appreciate it. The inside diameter is 32 mm , the outside about 45 mm. The colour powder is natural, made from minerals. You can mix it with water and woodglue, works nice and the colours are beautiful. You can get that in India, i was able to buy these in Bodhgaya in a shop.
Namaste Friend, As per your teaching and demo of making didgeridoo, you use Natural Tung oil and linseed oil is in ratio of 3:1, right. But as per length and inside hollowness, how much oil you poured in ml quantity, kindly let me know, so i can try to make this mixture in same manner. Happy Didgeridoo ✨👌👍Thanks & Regards, Mahesh (Mumbai India 🇮🇳) Ma
nice! What's the basic vocals?
Thank you! There are no vocals, its just a rhthm pattern: DE-E-WI-DE-E-WOS-DE-E-WA-I-DE-E-WOS with WOS being the inhale.
I love it when people ask about vocals.. none. Harmonic and tongue technique. Vocals are cheating!😂
Dee ahhh dah dah dee ahh dah dah,, then for some in betweens chuck a few gees in there
There is a question in the end of my message: My DGD project is now 40 days old and consists of aprx. 20h of neighbour and family irritating relentless work. Your tips help. I am a very poor and super healthy guy and like the idea of an DIY instrument for breathing, grounding and staying under the infrared rays of our sun. My tubes for breathing include a pvc vacuum cleaner tube, three different card board tubes of different thickness and diameter and my absolute favorite the 13x sparkling "vichy" soda can doodle opened and glued together as a tube. The PVC and soda thingies end is fixed with a beeswax mouthpiece. The vacuum tube can be inserted into the rest of my DIY's as a core. So many possibilites here. Do they play well? I have no idea, as I have never owned a real didge and still do not. I can sustain a drone easily 45minutes, but have no technique skill set alas the drone and simple slow LFO resonance and filter cutoff like the roland tb 303 acid drum machine does. This is exactly my problem, I come from a singing and live dj-set performing alley and not from an instrument such as flute or trombone background. The breathing is my true skill and has been so for over 15 years. The Q: To obtain a strong and fast changing colorfull sound, is it how much of the strenght of the lungs or just the shape or lenght of the insturment? Maybe even the mouthpiece? This is very very addictive and I hunger for more. How long does it take to be able to perform for an audience me with no prior experience and just listening to the DGD sounds one can come up with?
Hi! Thanks for your comment. To answer your question, i recommend you to get a somewhat proper Didgeridoo first. The one you build might not be the best solution. I would start with a cheap PVC Didgeridoo which you can get for around 40$ online. That way you will have proper back pressure, a good mouthpiece and it will be easy to clean which is very important for keeping germs away. To be able to perform on stage or on the streets it depends on your talent and how fast you learn. The strenght of your lungs is not that important. If you can circular breath for 45 minutes you are already able to perform. From there you can build up simple rhythms and develop your repertoire. You wrote that you are poor. If you cant afford to spend 40$ on a PVC Didgeridoo, you can also just buy a plastic pipe with a lenght of 1,20m to 1,50m for a few bucks, put some beewax for a mouthpiece and start with that. Hope that helps. If you have any more questions please feel comfortable to ask. I will reply in a few days...
The best way to play and learn is by hard tongue didgeridoo And different tones can come from pressure difference in your mouth, position of tongue on teeth
Amazing work! Are you using the same tool to do the outside shaping as the initial shaping? And what are you using? Because I am thinking about getting the Turboplane but I don't know if you can also do initial shaping with it. Love it, Greetings Simon
Thanks for the comment! I use a Kaindl woodcarver for the inside and outside. Hope that helps :)

this didg sounds extreme good
You have my highest respect for what you did in this video. Well done. Good... good. Strongly motivating also. (I did some good things with the didgeridoo, too :) Best wishes 🙏
