Rethinking BIM
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 3 มี.ค. 2019
Rethinking BIM is an elective course offered at Columbia's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP). This channel is currently maintained by Jared Friedman who has previously taught the course and continues to periodically develop content for a broader audience. Videos posted here generally deal with topics surrounding BIM, parametric design, interoperability, etc. Enjoy!

Annual Daylight Analysis with Honeybee v1.1.0 in Grasshopper (Basic)
มุมมอง 14K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This is an introductory tutorial in getting started with Honeybee and running an Annual Daylight analysis on a room. This tutorial was done using version 1.1.0 of Ladybug/Honeybee/Honeybee-Radiance (requires the Radiance installation).
Using Galapagos with View Analysis in Grasshopper
มุมมอง 16K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Using Galapagos with the Ladybug View Analysis Tool in Grasshopper. This tutorial runs through a demonstration for how to use the Galapagos evolutionary solver tool in Grasshopper with a view analysis tool from Ladybug in order to inform the placement and orientation of a building.
Rhino.Inside Demo with Room Data and View Analysis
มุมมอง 3.2K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This video goes through a workflow that uses Rhino.Inside and the View Rose tool in Ladybug (Grasshopper plugin) in order to demonstrate the process of running a geometry-focused analysis in Rhino/Grasshopper and feeding results back into a Revit parameter.
Dynamo Basics: Count elements in Rooms
มุมมอง 3.9K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This is an introductory Dynamo tutorial where we count the number of family instances - in this case desks - inside a Revit Room object.

Working with Point Clouds in Revit
มุมมอง 35K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This video provides an overview for inserting a point cloud into Revit, and some tips on how to work with them.
Intro to Graphics and Views in Revit

Revit Cameras and Materials
มุมมอง 1055 ปีที่แล้ว
Intro to setting up perspective views and materials (setup for a render).
Adaptive Components driven by Data generated in Ladybug/Grasshopper
มุมมอง 1.3K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This tutorial demonstrates the process of placing an adaptive component and assigning a parameter value to that component using geometry and analysis data generated in Grasshopper. The process uses the Ladybug plugin to perform a solar analysis, which ultimately drives the Adaptive Component parameter.
Interoperability Workflow with Adaptive Components
มุมมอง 7655 ปีที่แล้ว
This is an overview of a workflow that quickly models an adaptive component and shows how you can use Hummingbird to place that adaptive component inside of Revit using geometry generated in the Rhino/Grasshopper environment.
Great content, thanks a lot.
Thank you for the video
what is the lng component ???
list length... sorry, should have turned on full names
thank you soooo so much !
Very useful script, thanks for sharing. Think about school class rooms and pupils desks.
Great great tutorial
More Helpful thanks for the video.!!!
Great tutorial
Where i can get the file
I can't choose the element type in command "element type picker", there is no any list for me to choose, help me please
great tutorial - this is what I was looking for
Amazing! Thanks a lot
You think you can share the grasshopper scripts
my remapped values are not being inputted in the parameter of my adaptive panels. can you help ?
incredible! When will you do part 2? Greetings from Colombia.
Very useful video! thanks
Great video. It will be very useful. Is there a way in revit to reduce the amount of points visible by say a percentage. In Decartes its possible to reduce the amount of points in a the point cloud by set values and to change these as required during the modelling process.
Not that I am aware of. I agree this would be a very useful feature to have in Revit, but in it's current state you would likely need to do this in a separate software prior to importing (I reduced the density in CloudCompare in this video, but there are others you can use as you mention).
can i use rhino inside revit without grasshopper?
Great Tutorial, is there anyway to do this sort of study to study the daylight and glare coming through a skylight?
Does Rhino Inside have the capabilities to create and control curtain panel pattern based families? Or even better to create the patterns of the family in GH ?
this is so helpful tutorial. Thanks a lot! I have a question, if the floor has curved side, addsubface doesn`t work and 'gridrooms' component show grids not only the floor, but ceiling also. I think curved face change into polysurface. How may I fix this problem?
Great tutorial, love to see more in depth content....
Super nice tutorial! Is there any way we can do it surface by surface in order to include internal walls?
please could you do a video on just rhino inside revit, as i am not familiar with grass hopper yet
Thank you! I’ve spent far too long (nearly a week) being thrown-off by the old honeybee legacy tutorials, and your tutorial cleared the fog! I’m working on a daylight factor analysis in London. A take-it-or-leave-it tip : your using Honeybee[+], might be worth putting that in the TH-cam title and description to distinguish between the two for people searching for version specific help. Thanks once more! Seán
thank you
Thanks a lot! Very useful video! I am trying to send a Revit project (version 2020) to a client that requires the file itself beyond the plans and sections. The project has a linked Point Cloud, which must be visible in the model when the client opens it. To make this possible, I copied the Point Cloud (.rcp file) into the following path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Revit Shared Thus, in theory, anyone who copies the same Point Cloud to this folder would be able to view it. The problem is that it didn't work. My partner tried to open the file on his computer after doing the same steps and the Point Cloud isn't there. He checked the visibility settings and the .rcp filme supposed to be activate there, but it failed. Has anyone been through a similar situation? How can I solve this? Thanks!
Hi Joao, I don't know if you ever figured out the solution to this problem but for future users who may have similar questions, it sounds like the issue is that you are only focusing your attention on the .RCP file, but this by itself does not contain point cloud data. In order for the point cloud to show up in Revit, you will need to send the .RCP file as well as the corresponding "Support" folder that ReCap created when you created the RCP file. Inside that Support folder are the RCS files which actually contain the usable point cloud data. Once your client has downloaded the RCP file and the Support folder containing the RCS files, then they can open the Revit file you send, go to "Manage Links," select the RCP file that you inserted into the file, then click "Reload From" so they can route the path to wherever they saved it on their local system. If everybody follows those instructions, then the point cloud will appear in their Revit file as desired. If you need more information, please feel free to contact us at info@Scansure3D.com
Hi I cant find Honeybee Model anywhere I also downloaded the latest update. Help me out please
Hi, I have a question: the urban context that you made at the start, is it made parametrically on grasshopper or on rhino?
This was great! I only use honeybee occasionally and the new update has thrown me for a loop since old tutorials are outdated now :)
Thank you for the tutorial! I have a question: How can we assign to a complex geometry surface in rhino a specific wall revit family? When we use AddGeometryDirectShape we can just assign the category!! Thanks
super quiet, but thanks!
Please send the point cloud file
Hi could you please share the files as the linked page is unable to be found. Just trying to understand the python component on the canvas. Thank you!
Looking into the same thing: checkout this guide: www.rhino3d.com/inside/revit/1.0/guides/revit-revit
Great video. What software did you use to build your point cloud?
can you up-lode the the file?
your demonstration really clear
Well explained. Hope to see more Rhino.Inside Revit tuts from you!
please sir, do you have the link for that grasshopper definition you showed at the start ? (the one which brings by category) thank you !
Can u provide me rcs file data which ur using....?
Really really cool!
