Didn’t see it giving you current standings between races?
@@ryancole5967 no there wasn't. Each individual race could be seen if you wanted but not a running overall
Congrats on the win. I enjoyed the talking through the events to present the platform and the strategy in each race !
@@totolekoala Thanks Toto. Thought I'd made too much of a mistake in round 1 to be able to win but glad it didn't cost me in the end.
@@racingwithryan Yes, all participants had a "race off" more or less. Your bad result wasn't as bad as theirs, the lead was actually substantial in the end
Nice
Fantastic video of great racing. Well done Ryan! Great to see you performing so well in Cat A (I've raced you when I was briefly Cat B!).
@@Simon-ry6vx thanks for your kind and encouraging comment. Been working really hard and I'm glad that it came off in this race
Wow awesome effort at the end! 💪
@@andymiller54 thanks Andy. Got to try things sometimes I suppose
Good one Ryan! Definitely a strong finish and you deserved to win that
@@GlutenFreeCyclist thanks very much. I am glad I went for it rather than just held in there. Sometimes you got to try to make things happen
Awesome ride
@@TimGO thanks very much. I decided it would either work or I'd die trying 😂. It kind of worked I suppose!
Glad I didn’t see this before I started Zwifting 😂 it would have put me right off 🥵 Mega efforts - I loved the light coming on in the background & someone coming in to check on you after S3 😂 Been there.
@@zwifting haha. Yeah I think I'd have been the same and I've needed checking on a few times in the past😂
Good effort!
@@wiklu_cc thanks. It was a tough evening in the pain cave I can tell you that!
crazy stuff mate
@@Ghostrider131518 yeah the lead ins were so long just gas went on with like 1.5km until the official sprint start and just stayed there!
Hilarious to see Werme on the safety bike. If you fancy another go at the Frenemies race, we are doing the new Itza Climb Finish route on Wednesday at 19:10 UK time. We had 19 A starters last week and it's mass start so there will be some strong Bs in the mix until the climb finish when they get blown out the back. Event ID 4452195
great race, good commentary amazing to see you up with the big boys hanging on well!
Cheers Rob. Dug in for sure and pleased with the result
Great job Ryan! Very strong finish after that grind up to the line. Fun racing with you. Thanks for posting.
Cheers! It certainly was a toughie!
So THAT's what happened up there at the front. Ha. Amazing effort. I could't even sprint, just tried to grind out that last KM. That finish couldn't come soon enough!
Haha. Thank you very very. Yes it was a tough final run to the line. Not your normal sprint a long grind for a few km
👀
Woop woop! Amazing sprint! 🎉
Thanks very much
We tried to make that pack word as possible, nice finish bud. I took 7th myself.
Good result and a decent haul of points. It never let off the pace really did it. Constantly 'on'
Stunning win Ryan, timed that sprint perfectly!
Cheers mate. Managed to get that gap early before the main pack responded and eventhough I started to fade hard towards the end the initial effort was enough to stay away
congrats superb finish there! great to hold that power so long!
Thanks very much. I tend to do better in a slightly longer effort over a more 'pure' shorter sprint and thankfully using that worked here
@@racingwithryan do you do any weight training to supplement that power? like you I prefer longer sprints but am no where near your numbers but would like to be one day!
@@RobBZwift I don't to be honest. I did a few squats a couple of years and it damaged my glass knees so just don't bother now for risk of injury
@@racingwithryan fair play keep it up will hopefully race you in the future!
@@RobBZwift thanks dude. Look after yourself
Great job - enjoyed the video and up until a few minutes ago I had no idea about the IndieVelo platform. Excited to try it out.
That's great news! Glad you liked it and hope you enjoy checking out IndieVelo 😄
Really enjoyed your commentary and insights as a very experienced virtual racer but still fairly new to indieVelo. Thanks and I look forward to racing with you again.
Thanks Rob. Take care and I'll see you out there again soon!
Excellent upload! 😎
Thank you very much. A bit longer than intended but glad you liked it!
Good strong finish mate👏
Cheers. Unfortunately not quite enough with the lead that the break had pulled out. Never mind though
Ballsy move attacking on the downhill .9km out. So close
Awesome! This was my exact game plan and like you the race was done after 4km 😂
Haha. I'm glad to hear there were others! Hope it worked out for you!
Love your breakdown commentary on your own race efforts, explaining your reasoning for race decisions. Awesome sprint efforts!
Thanks for your kind words. Definitely helps the learning curve by reflecting back after the fact
Good efforts and sprints ryan
Cheers mate. Committed early but got the job done
Incredible effort!
Cheers. Dude
Ryan's voice: 🙂 Ryan's face in the corner: 😫
Haha. Grim. I don't know why but it never catches my best side😂
Massive kudos on the win. I too did this race yesterday but at 6.10pm. There were over 300 riders in mine. I was hoping for a top 50 but ended up in 103. Managed 3.9w/kg so was happy enough. Still looking for the magic 4w/kg....then I might hope to start getting a few podiums in some B Races, fingers crossed
Thank you very much! 300 riders! That is one big field! Sounds like you can be right up there. 4 w/kg isn't often needed to feature at the pointy end in many B races and quite often the winner has done less than you think. It's just all about putting the power down at the correct times and saving it when you can
Nice one Ryan!
Nicely done! For next week, keep in mind that the finishing points will NOT be like for the scratch races. Points races still award 40, 35 and 30 for the top 3, and only after that it starts going down by 1, so there's an incentive to get a podium placement, especially top 2.
Hey Alejandro. Yes we discussed that at the time and we recognised that the same tactic will not necessarily pay off in points races
Excellent performance Bad Boys!
That's a massive 45-second power! You could've probably beat the guy if you stayed behind his wheel, which is of course easier said than done, especially after the race.
Yes I was thinking that after. I spent a lot of time off the front after the initial attack. Maybe having attacked a few seconds later might have worked today
Honorable try 💪💪
Thank you
Awesome mate
Thank you! Cheers Dai
