Part 2 of our monsoon trek adventure started with an early alarm set for 3:45 AM, hoping to catch the sunrise from Sailung. But luck wasn’t on our side-continuous rain since 10 PM kept us asleep until 6 AM. My brother and I were disappointed, and I began to wrap up the vlog, thinking the adventure had ended there.
But just when we thought it was over, one of our fellow trekkers told us that the bus would wait for three more hours, giving us a chance to hike up. The weather suddenly cleared, and our spirits soared. We quickly packed our bags and lunch, and started the hike. Within 45 minutes, we reached the top, stopping briefly for photos and videos along the way.
At the summit, we enjoyed our lunch, sipped on coffee, and even had a pushup challenge-my brother really gave me a challenge, but I managed to come out on top. As the fog rolled in again, we soaked in the breathtaking views of the Himalayas. We even took some time to meditate before heading back down.
On our way down, we visited a mesmerizing Shiva temple under a clear sky, which added even more magic to our journey. Back at the hotel, we packed up, said our farewells to the owner, and noted that while the bed and bathroom were great, the dinner didn’t quite hit the mark.
As we headed back down , what started as a journey with strangers had turned into a trip with friends. Just 10 minutes after leaving, we encountered a landslide blocking our path. Despite the heavy rain, we borrowed shovels and knives from locals and started clearing the path ourselves. Soon, everyone on the bus joined in, and together, we cleared the way. The unity and teamwork made it a truly unforgettable experience.
After a couple of stops at Durali and Mudhe, we finally reached Kathmandu, arriving home by 5 PM. Thanks to everyone who watched the video-this adventure was one for the books!" #sailung #shailung #shailungtrek
