@kylehofkamp3297 Without knowing what upgrade you have, it is hard to tell, but some upgrades need a different reflector. The other thing you can check is that everything is fully seated and that the lens is tightened all the way. The focused beam is generated when the light is brought in line with the bottom of the reflector. Hope that helps and you can get it working better.

@Deetroiter, the white crud is Potassium Carbonate. It is an irritant. I have never had it hurt when on my hands, but if you have a cut or get it in your eyes, you won't be having a good day. Definitely wash your hands if you come in contact with it. Thanks for watching!

@@chestersedc thank you for the advice and insight! I’ve had some AA batteries leak where it was more like slight wetness or so, not sure what that is. Is that also the potassium that just hasn’t dried yet?

The liquid inside an alkaline battery is potassium hydroxide, it is the electrolyte in the alkaline battery. When the liquid leaks out it reacts with the CO2 in the air to form Potassium Carbonate. Potassium hydroxide is an alkaline and I think it is a little worse before it crystalizes as it has a tendency to spread more since it is a liquid. Definably wash your hands and clean anything it got on.

Absolutely! NiMH batteries really do offer a fantastic balance of capacity and safety, making them a top choice for many applications. Being 1.2V confuses a lot of people who think they won't work for their devices. I've been playing more with Li-Ion batteries with some good success, but NiMH have been working well for me for over 20 years. Thanks for watching!

That's really unfortunate! Battery issues can be such a hassle, especially when they damage our favorite gadgets. Have you considered reaching out to Duracell about it as others have said they got compensation?

@@chestersedc That was years ago. I even locked the 5 battery model in a vice and couldn't drive the batteries out with a large punch and a small sledgehammer. Even tried drilling them out with an auger bit, until I finally tore up the inside of the flashlight.

No, the i3T 2 pocket clip will not screw onto the old i3T cap as the threads are different sizes. I was able to take the i3T 2 cap and screw it onto the old i3T body, but not the other way around. The i3T seemed to work with the i3T 2 tail cap in my quick test. Thanks for watching!
