Prof Katyayanidas Bhattacharya Memorial Lectures

Prof. Katyayanidas Bhattacharya (1917-1966) was an eminent scholar of Indian and Western Philosophy. He taught in Presidency College and in the University of Calcutta. In his memory, lectures are organised every year at Kolkata, in which, eminent personalities in the fields of Philosophy, literature, social science are invited.
First Katyayanidas Bhattacharya Memorial Lecture (2017) by Philosopher Arindam Chakrabarti at RKM
The first memorial lecture of late Prof. Katyayanidas Bhattacharya (1917-1966) was held on 13th July 2017 at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark, Kolkata. Prof. Arindam Chakrabarti, eminent scholar of Philosophy from Hawaii University of USA was the speaker. The topic of Lecture was "ব্যথায় কথা যায় ডুবেঃ ঈশ্বরের বেদনা, নিরীশ্বর সাংখ্যে বেদনামুক্তি"। Eminent Indologist and writer Nrisingha Prasad Bhaduri presided over the function and Swami Suparnananda, Secretary Maharaj of the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark, Kolkata was the Chief Guest,

অসাধারন আলোচনা। খুব ভালো লাগল। ভেবে খুব খারাপ লাগছে আমাদের এই অঞ্চল (অর্থাৎ বর্তমান বাংলাদেশ) থেকে কি অসামান্য পণ্ডিতবর্গ যেয়ে ওপাড় বাংলা সমৃদ্ধ করেছেন। কিন্তু দুঃখের সাথে বলছি আপনারা যারা এপারে পোড় খেয়ে ওপাড় বাংলা সমৃদ্ধ করেছেন বাংলাদেশের বর্তমান পরিস্থিতি নিরিখ করেন? আমার তা মনে হয় না। কারন এই ১৯৯০ সালেও সংখ্যালঘু ছিল ১৫% আর বর্তমানে গিয়ে দাড়িয়েছে ৫%। আমার চিন্তা বাংলাদেশ নিয়ে নয়। আমার চিন্তা ওপাড় বাংলা (পশ্চিমবঙ্গ) নিয়ে। যেভাবে দিনের পর দিন পশ্চিমবঙ্গ দখল নিয়ে যাচ্ছে। আমাদের আর কোথাও আশ্রয় নেয়ার যায়গা নেই। বিশেষ করে লেখক, সিনেমা ইত্যকার পেশায় যারা জড়িত তাদের বেশি বেশি বলার দরকার ছিল। তারা উভয় বাংলায় ব্যবসার ক্ষতির ভয়ে আব্রাহামিক আগ্রাসনের বিরুদ্ধে কখনো টু শব্দটি করেননি বা করেন না।
