I think the champion that's shown in this promo once appeared in a special match on the US version hosted by Jim Perry. For a third contestant, I believe they had someone from Canada who happened to do well on the US show. Any game show that was on Canadian television around that time was low budget, so that's why you'd sometimes see the odd Canadian on American shows.
