Excellent interview.Phils commitment His passion for film and work ethic are commendable a really nice Guy and his wife was lovely and welcoming to.I remember visiting with my Dad sadly to many years ago and we filled a van with a 35mm Projector and lots of films and drove back from Cleethorpes to Aberdeen. Phil kindly gave me an Elf 16MM projector which I still cherish.The shop was brilliant and he has a lovely Home cinema. I regret that Beer Fags and Women have got in the way over the years,well maybe not all of the women 😏 ,all that films I could have purchased,but I am approaching 40 and I think I will reignite my passion ,well it's never really been away as I often watch s8 and 16 at my Fathers home and every few months he has a surprise purchase to watch.Everyone is fascinated by film and projectors and it brought me joy and nostalgia the other night to watch my 7 year old Nephew curiously watching His Grandad lace up the projector full of wonder at the magic projecting out onto the screen from a machine that seems to be alive,You just don't get that with Digital projection.I really hope phil can carry on for alot longer and maintain his quality of life I mean He must be made of the tough stuff as I know how difficult it must be having seen how my Mothers battle with Cancer has been over the past two years,I really hope His shop ,the buisness He has built His legacy will carry on, surely someone has the Desire means and passion. Like so much nowadays it's no use just waiting until after the fact because once it is gone its gone It's always best to build on a strong foundation.I hope I win the Lottery 🤔

Die S/W-Fassung vom "Hulk" scheint mir eine spätere Episode der Serie zu sein. Im Pilotfilm kommt das mit dem Flugzeug meines Wissens nicht vor. Ist denn der Zweiteiler von Piccolo inhaltsgleich oder tatsächlich der gekürzte Pilotfilm?

Der Ton von Hulk ist aber auch hervorragend. 👍 Nur schade, dass in Deinem Ausschnitt kein Hemdenplatzen zu sehen ist... 😏

Guter Ton von Captain America😉. Es gibt übrigens noch weitere Marvel Sachen auf Super 8. In Italien sind die Spiderman Filme der 70er Jahre komplett erschienen und es gibt International diverse Trailer.

Habe selber in den 80er Jahren noch mit einer NIZO 6056 und einem KOWA Z8 Filme in Scope aufgenommen.

Tolle Erinnerungen an Filme die Unvergesslich sind. Davon abgesehen wurde ja Cinemascope entwickelt um dem aufsteigenden Fernsehen Paroli zu bieten.Als Nebeneffekt war es dann auch möglich Super 8 Kopien von Cinemascope Filmen mit der entsprechenden Linse zu zeigen. Die steigerung von Cinemascope war übrigens Cinerama .Ein Verfahren das mittels 3 Projektoren ein überwältigendes Breitbild an einer gewölbten Leinwand werfen konnte.Hier auf TH-cam finden sich übrigens etliche Dokus über Cinerama und auch restaurierte Filme .Aber nicht wundern wenn die auf unseren Bildschirmen ein wenig merkwürdig aussehen. th-cam.com/video/3xK2tkFngkU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iufjoysSExTJpBax

Mir sind beim Schauen gerade die senkrechten Streifen aufgefallen, die durchs Bild laufen. Sind die so in der Cinemascope-Kopie enthalten oder ist das ein Effekt der beim Digitalisieren und elektronisch Entzerren entstanden ist ?

I still have both This Is Scope parts one and two in my collection . Did you notice the mistake in the blue background opening title on screen . They used two number ones ( 11 ) instead of the proper Roman Numerals for two . It makes it look like "This Is Scope" eleven . 😉

I never owned a Super 8 film setup yet I admired the format when I saw displays of the format and films at various film clubs / societies during the 1980s and 90s.

Cinemascope is such a revelation and makes you realise how films were butchered in the pan and scan version they would release before 16.9 displays became common.

Excellent video. I also had a GS1200 and loved my hobby. But once laser disc and then DVD came along it was inevitable that Super 8 would go. Just the price of the raw stock was really costly and for a 120m film Super 8 was priced out of the market. Sad, but that’s progress.

Das hat mich sehr beeindruckt. Man merkt wirklich, wieviel "Herzblut" da immer noch drinsteckt! Schade, dass DERANN schließen musste.

Es ist mehr als traurig zu hören, dass die ganzen Vorlagen allesamt im Müll gelandet sind. 😭Warum wurden sie nicht veräußert? Ich bin mir sicher, CHC und Berlin hätten bestimmt was davon gekauft.

Hab das Video zwar erst jetzt gesehen, aber dennoch sage ich: Sehr gut erklärt. Das versteht sogar der Laie, der noch nie farbstichige Filmkopien gesehen hat und daher bisher nicht wusste, was es damit auf sich hat 😃👍

I started film collecting in mid 70's I met Derek in late 70's at film convention in Leeds I became his regular customer he was a great guy, watching this clip gave me the background how Derran Film functioned it's amazing what goes behind the business. Looking forward to see other two episodes👍👍👍

Ein drittes britisches Unternehmen, über das niemand viel weiß, ist DAVELYN FILMS auf der Isle of Wight. Es gab sogar einige BBC TV Fernsehsendungen. Ich frage mich, ob noch irgendjemand von dort noch am Leben ist, um ein Interview zu geben. A third British company that no one knows much about is DAVELYN FILMS on the Isle of Wight. There were even some BBC TV shows. I wonder if anyone from there remains alive to do an interview

Einfach klasse, wie du das machst! Wundert mich das du nicht beim Fernsehen als Moderator gelandet bist! Das Talent hast du!

Finde ich total klasse. Heile welt im DDR-Plattenbau. Warum auch nicht? Schwarzmalerei haben wir mehr als genug. Herrlich auch wie jedes Auto der Trabant 601 ist. So war es eben. Ich mag die Farben. Das ist wohl noch das alte ORWO-Material, das anscheinend viel farbstabiler ist als das berüchtigte alte Eastman-Negativ.

Die Untertitel führen sichtlich ein Eigenleben und scheinen sich nicht besonders um den gesprochenen Text zu scheren 😂

Sehr schöne Erinnerungen kommen da auf. Habe Derek Simmonds persönlich kennengelernt, als ich die Firma DERANN 1996 und 1997 besuchte. Beim ersten Mal hat es sogar mit der BLACKPOOL-Filmbörse zeitlich zusammengepasst. Dort "live" vor Ort zu sein war für mich das Größte, Mr. Simmonds war sehr freundlich und umgänglich, es wurde ein sehr langes Gespräch daraus...
