I own a Byrna after my friend got one for himself. I don't like how you don't go into depth for any project. It sounds like the first 2 paragraphs of the press release of the companies that produce those "solutions". The highway barrier for example is used in a similar design in Germany for decades already. The wind/solar hybrid: how much does it cost? Is it already installed? How long shall it last before needing replacement? And the innovations aren't as grand as you make them out to be. While they're sometimes clever solutions to some problems, they also all have some downsides that should have been covered.

"Harvesting" energy from passing vehicles? Doesn't that mean, the vehicles have to provide that energy in some way which must finally lead to higher fuel consumption? 🤔 Sounds like it would be easier to force the drivers to put some fuel into a bin at the side if the road, so you can burn it to generate electricity.

I can imagine a bicycle or motorcycle trailer loaded with light and flexible panels. For car this is just too expencive, to fragile, too little efficient. Carbon tubes instead of aluminum, and some protective cover is a must. Good idea, but must be more polished.

I would definitely be confused with the floating stop sign, treat it as a stop sign and then keep going. Unless it's meant to be treated like a stop sign but you described it as something people can't pass while it's up so a stop sign would just be a confusing hologram
