South Sudan Livestock in brief.
According to South Sudan Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Industry and United Nations Agriculture Organization (FAO), South Sudan livestock population is estimated at 12 million cattle, 20 million sheep and 25 million goats. This makes South Sudan the world leader in terms of animal wealth per capita. These resources are not put into use yet to boast the economy, but with time, South Sudan will be the leader beef export in the region.

These are members of Toposa tribe of South South Sudan mobilizing after their cattle were raided by Turkana tribe in Kenya. Clashes have been reported in the last few days and tension continue to rise over the cross border raiding and land dispute.

Traditional wrestling is practice in South Sudan by communities of Mundari, Dinka Yirol, Dinka Aliab, Dinka Bor, and Lotuho. Its a common sport in rural areas and people who comes from these communities love it. I found this wrestling on my way Bor last week and I have to stop to watch it live. I love Africa with its rich culture.

Before this Highway was built, travel between Entebbe and Kampala was a nightmare because of traffic jam; but now, travel between these twin cities has become fun. It is one of the greatest investment people of Uganda has done through their government. I wish them more in the years a head.

This was in South Kordufan in Sudan in 2022. Passengers thought they would cross without problem, but mother nature taught them a lessons to be wise next time. I heard they were all recover alive.

Thanks for the concern. Its the role of the community in general to step up defense measures. They are safe where they are now, but when they leave the islands, they will be under threat.
How about microchipping all livestock with a registered number related to the owner as well as a unique brand. All livestock bought and sold by law will have to reveal the microchip numbers. I hate Cattle Rustlers more than anything. thanks

I live here in Entebbe and before I met Sudanese I thought they were brutal people etc but in reality they r very good and hospitable people, at least for all those I have met.

It is a shame that South Sudan with its oil wealth and small population cannot build a 4-lane highway. That is, two lanes on each side going and two lanes returning. Shame. Bad leaders everywhere. What you have there can cause head on collision.

But the engineers of South Sudan should be trained in road construction.
Becarefull because this might bigger than cattle raiding. it might be an attempt to ampoverish the rural people and take their fanancial freedom away. they might try this by instigating tribal conflicts through things like that as well. investigate this further.
dude south Sudan is not small country. it's big that Tanzania and Kenya put together. it is bigger than France or Germany. it just under populated/underdeveloped.

@@jacobaluong South Sudan isn't bigger than Tanzania my friend Tanzania is 945,087 km² . Tanzania is bigger than Nigeria on landmass. Kenya is over 500,000 km². The size of Kenya and Tanzania combined is over 1 Million km².
