Nice work
This is so helpful for my swap thank you very much
If you have any question let me know I will try to answer.
what happend to part 2 was looking forward too seing the results
Part 2 has been delayed for some time as my son has had the bike. I now have the bike home and can give an update on how it has held up. Keep an eye out.
Is this any good for adults or is it mostly an activity for kids and families ?
@@Naomi_Berry it's great for both.
you muved to often,I got dessy ,imposible to fiish up whole show
I’m in the process of restoring my first car 1992 Celica. Beautiful cars and such a joy to drive!
@jamesmassey4390 has been a favourite of mine since I was in one as a 12-year-old. And now my son is a fan of them also.
@@boofheadbuilds7294 my hope is to pass it on to my son when he learns to drive. How do you go getting parts? It seems you buy scrap cars for parts?
@jamesmassey4390, Yeah, I think my son has taken the torch and taken on the celica bug. But he also has a gt86 bug, So hard to find parts that are out of the ordinary parts shop parts. Or specific parts made by select companies and people, Second hand is only option. And I have been lucky enough to find some good cars to buy cheap to get parts from.
Did your ST184 seats bolt up to the ST185 floor with out modification? or did you have to fabricate different mounting plates to get them to fit?
No, they did not bolt in. Not all bolts anyway. The tunnel side did not line up. We will use different seats for final build.
Glad I'm not the only one that gets the scratches up the tint
Dirty window guides.
"Great job! I also own the same bike, and it needs the same repairs."
The repairs have held up well.
In the minds of many, as I am, the best car in the World. Thanks.
Oof
Do not follow closely!!

Come on man, invest in some decent tire straps! They might just save your life in a trailer wreck!
😮 this guys do use rebar!💪
Yes and tied rebar into foundation of house.
Hi what does Alltrac mean please is it 4wd full time
Yes. Awd full time. Alltrac is the designation that the car is named in the usa
Your doing a good thing friend subbed you up :) Thanks for subbing my channel! I cant wait till my mr2 is finished so I can back to my st185!
oh these would look nice
I have had them on other 5th gen celicas and my gt86, but will be first time on the gt4
Something
Yes indeed
hello, what is the light brown material you used to create the missing parts?
Regular automotive putty/body filler/bog
Had a st165 back in the day so did my brother , got an evo x now but miss the celica . You’re doing right by her 💯 approve .🤙🏾
Thankyou, for your kind words. we have had the gt4 for about 6 years. Been floating around the yard. My son is just starting a mechanical apprenticeship with toyota so he is very motivated to get it back on the road. And we are nearly there. Beyond this gt4. I have another that will be a full ground up rebuild with high hp 5sgte. But need to wait till our shed is built. I should do an update as our content is slow lately.
Legend, know what I gotta do this weekend
thanks mate, ha yeah its easier when we have an idea of where the bolts are and the order in which they come out, Good luck,
I appreciate the time into putting these instructional videos thankyou
You are very welcome
here from the 185 vs 205 drag race video i would love to restore my car as its in pretty rough shape
@davidlawand2805 thank you for checking out a few videos, i am currently waiting for my new shed to be built, still in planning stages, and i will be able to get stuck back into the projects, and bring some more content.
@@boofheadbuilds7294 🙏amen to that do you know how to fix a broken tachometer that most of the time doesnt work and the rest shows wrong readings on a 1990 GTS with the 2.2L engine?
@davidlawand2805 the is likely 2 reasons. Speed sensor in gearbox is faulty. Or dash mechanics are faulty. My suggestion as it is prob easiest is to swap out the gearbox sensor for a known working one. Before pulling cluster out and getting it repaired.
@@boofheadbuilds7294 alright ill look into it thank you good luck with the shed
@davidlawand2805 hope you get it sorted. I should put up a current progress video. With future plans.... maybe
Masterful. Part 2 plz.
Part 2 is coming soon,
A questionable project with questionable results?
Well, ask away. I'm happy to answer.
Great vid! I’ve gotta do a bit of fairing work myself; great way to see it all get done
SMC vs Fiberglass resin? Which is better for fairing on my motorcycle?
Not sure what you mean by Smc. Ideally, if fairing's are fibreglass best would be fibreglass. Fibreglass repair is not a permanent solution for plastic fairings. But they can last a fair amount of time.
Just bought a 1989 gt4 in New Zealand .....your video's are making my life bearable ! great work thanks.
thankyou, kind words, that's the goal to help others out with knowledge prior to headaches.
very useful to me - is that resin brush useless now or is there some type of thinner to clean the paintbrush please?
I use acetone to clean up. Good solid, clean, and can use multiple times.
@@boofheadbuilds7294 thanks - acetone, that sounds powerful, now i know i won't have to chuck the brush i hope you take care over your health, thanks for the reply.
@@iandouglas451 it is the common solvent for Resins both polyester and epoxy, and yes, always work in well ventilated areas, and wear appropriate PPE,
@@boofheadbuilds7294 thanks again, good to hear - this is new stuff to me, thought i had bought a decent bike but as i used it i could hear creaking and banging sometimes - not mechanical, it was the fairings, damaged underneath, lugs missing and cracks - guess the bike has been over at some point. british roads are full of potholes these days.
@@iandouglas451 no problem at all, its a good place to start and not super expensive on these small scale repairs, but keep in mind it is a temp fix, other options would be Plastic welding or replacement fairings.
most of the time the drag is caused by the wheel cylinders becoming gummed up through lack of use i found this happens when i let my car sit to long caused by the alloy pistons corroding ing the steel cylinder usual a good clean and light hone fixes the problem can be also caused by a sluggish master cylinder too
@GREEN JJ, thanks for engaging and Thanks for the information, greatly appreciated,
Thanks for this makes taking mine out less of a headache! Was missing 2 bolts, didn't want to pry on stuff I didn't need to
No problem.
Very illustrative video. However, I was wondering… Is there anyway of removing the lock without opening the door? I got a serious impact on my door and I cannot open neither from the outside nor the inside. Thanks in advance
Hi mate. Yes I suppose you could but it will be a nightmare. I am assuming here but are you hoping to be able to open door when lock is removed? To do this you would need to remove the catch mechanism, which is not possible with door closed. Is the door damaged or the body?
@@boofheadbuilds7294 Thanks for the reply. Yeah, the door is damaged. The thing is I would like to replace the it but the problem is that, as far as I know, to do that you have to remove the door panel in order to access to the hinges. And for the info I have, in order to remove the door panel you need to have the door open.
@@josusocial4195 good morning mate, yeah its a double edged sword, you can remove the front 1/4 panel to get to the front hinges of the door, but that does not help the Catch on the other end, short of cutting the door off completely, What I can do is, those doors in the Video I removed them from the Car and have them available to take photos of if that helps.
How much does such a base cost? I have a Celica 1.6 4afe st180 Plans to swap with rav4 engine and drive
If you are wanting 4wd with that setup its a huge job. But if you want 2wd would be easier to source all the parts.
Brilliant series, so helpful, thank you.
Your welcome.
Is the Celica for part out sir?
@david Fernandez Unfortunately I have already sent it off to scrap
are you guys wrecking parts from the st184?
I don't have the space or time to part it out. So just taking what is useful or needed. And scrapping the rest. But I would give it away to anyone that wants to take it.
@@boofheadbuilds7294 fair enough mate, I've just been chasing a set of tail lights for a while but all good
What is the size and details/spec of the steering wheel puller?
Steering wheel puller is just a cheap kit from local parts store.
Why didn't you show how you got the whole window assembly out and back in?
The footage didn't turn out the best. So was no good to use.
Did u have to unscrew the round white piece towards the latch n then pull it on our
If you mean the plastic stopper attached to the glass. No. Just the guides/stoppers bolted to the door inner skin. And mirror. Then the bolts for the motor and mechanism. Then just manipulate it to get it out. It is a pita though
thanks for the video, looking to repaint my interior soon, this is a great help!
You're welcome
Thanks guys, good tutorial if I have to remove my interior. Would be interested to see how you remove your cluster gauge. Is there a video on this?
Just the cluster?
@Danny Di Giacomo Thanks Danny. The part 2 which is coming will show the process for cluster and dash removal.
Nice job
Thanks. More to come

Project #1 let's go
@Caribbean Taylor, awesome.
Nice Fr-s. All good things to spend time on.
Thanks mate.
Great project. Whats the end goal with the Supra?
Restoration project for my step sons first car. He is 14. So hoping to have it all sorted before he gets his learner licence at 16.
@@boofheadbuilds7294 hell of a gift and 1st car. I like it.
Ha yeah. I got my eldest son a alltrac celica for his first car (blue one in vid background), My youngest son is helping me build his alltrac also (the white one) in current videos.
@@boofheadbuilds7294 makes the projects even better when the kids are involved with it. I Have always enjoyed that when mine were getting greasy with me.
@@SpiritedWrenchers oh absolutely
Wow, coolant was amazingly clean. Someone looked after than engine.
Scott, Yes very healthy engine, Compression test came back awesome, will be a good base to refresh with some maintenance parts and put in the supra.
Do you have part 2 I couldn’t find it
part 2 is currently in progress.
@@boofheadbuilds7294 did you finish it i really curious how it turned out and how well its holding up
Not finished yet. Had a lot going on. And need space to work on it. I will get there.
@@boofheadbuilds7294 Still not done ?
@Alexander Kasabyan not yet. Bike is in the shop at the moment.
she needs some love alright!
@lockjawjak indeed. We Can't wait to get stuck in.
Hey mate im doing the exact same swap right now! Same years in both cars and all.
@@rosiestokeld8778 yeah? Awesome. Well I am sure we can compare notes at some point.
@@boofheadbuilds7294 no worries mate, if it helps some of the things I found were, you need supra engine mounts, supra sump and oil pump, the bracket for the ac is different because the engine mount sits under it, the intake is different so the throttle cable from supra doest fit Cressy intake, coils on the wrong side, the extension housing on the auto is different for abs and digital speedo on the Cressy. The computer and loom are also really different, I got mine to start but that's where I'm up to for now! Keep the video coming please!
@@rosiestokeld8778 cheers. i have a Gte sump. Gte engine mounts. Gotta get gte oil pump and pickup, and I believe i have the ac bracket that came in a pile of parts with the supra. Outside of that does the cressida trans mount cross over to the supra?
