If you were in a pinch and had an ass load of rubber bands could one use a rubber band for tying ?

Didn't show how to tie the leather to the band but ok.

great tutorial............another couple of good tips I use personally, is I start a couple of wraps with the tie on material first, directly to the frame, then lay the bands on top of that, proceed as normal, and I also fold up the tag end as you mentioned and keep wrapping.....when I get to where I'm pulling the tag end under the wrap with the string, I always moisten the area a tad so the tag end pulls under the wrap more easily.
