Thank you , yes have one ourselves handy thing in winter for handling straw quadrant bales in all , yes this one has stacked and fed a lot of bales with the owner

5610 crash box. Quite nice to give the 65 some work, dont have to reverse much at bale stack she nearly turns right round on herself with the trailer.

Im in the UK , I have a feeling this is a D2 5U , you can get the tool aftermarket in the USA reasonable ish (5F8353) you can find the dimensions in the adverts for them to check for sure but it fits a lot of CAT machines.

Im not 100% sure but something is telling me now the older 5J had a different tool to get them out so best check 1st

Thank you , did it have a loader? Not that many paid extra for power steering really. Happens to be JCB fitted them standard with such a heavy loader/big capacity bucket

@@arwelagrimachinery yes it had a trip loader power steering and a pick up hitch plus an under swept exhaust he bought it new from Irish road motors in may 1961 I still have the tax book and owners manual all I need is a tractor to go with it🙂

@paulthompson8467 the under swept exhaust would be something quite rare on a later Agricultural major , they did fit them onto industrial ones , guess it was for low sheds

@@arwelagrimachinery we had laying hens and the shed was bedded with shavings and sawdust and the doorway was very low plus we had an indoor silo which we filled with the major only downside was sometimes the exhaust fumes would come up around you 😷

​@paulthompson8467 grandad said that they had a early MF65 new that came with a down sweped , soon converted to ordinary exhaust as it fumigated the workers on the Fergie potato planter 🤣

Going at a good speed really , and old machines weren't made for modern ryegrass

Thank you 👍, in a way the old single/double chop were ahead in they saved a fair bit of labour, not needing a mower or something to rake , bit like running a Fusion now type thing

A double chop would be nice , save needing a 5'6" drum mower. Only bit of a snag it was quite fashionable to use the double chops for topping with the back door off , all the grass juice/cow muck rotted them out.

Tbh, a British Ford or Massey Ferguson the same age have separate spool valves, DB and Leyland were a bit slow to update things e.g. brakes, pto clutch, hydraulics. The later Case (DB) and yellow Marshall/Leyland did have spools though

@@arwelagrimachinery I like the Ford Ferguson tractors. But the Ferguson system lifts always left me chaining up the lift because they got weak. Running a brush cutter and plow always left me stranded until it cools down. I'd buy a IH or Deer because the hydraulic system was strong and reliable for constant usage. Everything has a strong point. Ford's and Ferguson tractors don't get hung up in the swamp but they don't have enough strength for the rest of the job. But comfort is not good with IH or Deer but very durable. I have found my Case/ David Brown is a compromise for power and fuel efficiency. Still could be more versatile in the hydraulic system but it's reliable and strong. But any tractor today is just a nightmare with computer control and expensive to repair. Love the simple old tractor of the past when they were made by people. Thanks for letting me rant 😂.

@charleswelch249 old TO20 ? If the same as the TE20 British version, the PTO shaft ran the hydraulic pump , switch that off the impliment soon comes down 🤣 . Kverneland in Norway (?) Made a latch to hold 3pl up while transporting 1 of their ploughs . Later Massey 35 had the hydraulic pump driven off the pto, but it was in front of the sector for having it Turning at the back so they solved that problem

Thank you 👍. Yes, definitely without one you have to slit them with a grinder. This is my homemade version of a proper Massey Ferguson one, but I made it so it it fits most tractors

Thank you 👍 yes, and you can keep the downtime to a minimum if you can jump at it to repair something yourself , weather as it is with hay machinery.

A bit crude but they are verry dependable tractors, we have another on the yard scraper with a engine that's been on it's last legs for decades but it's still 1 of the best starting tractors we have 🤣

Its a cut away diagram, the waste check valve is like a O ring , goes right around the housing so its a single circular port, you'd need it to get the snap for the hydraulic shock

It's a pipe within another pipe really with valve seating right around where the inner one ends , waste comes out the top but goes right around that inner pipe like a liner in a wet sleeve engine

Thank you , I should have maybe cut the square courners off that top 1" flat fish plate but the top was the last thing to crack/snap anyway

The Mk16 is actually a Bamford BX9 baler painted red , they were after Allis Chalmers UK sold up and Bamford took over machinery. I think you can still get Bamford needles new. Yes they were shaft/gear driven, quite good really no chain to rust/snap, are the gears ok?

Old Same (leopard, tiger, etc sort of thing) lot of things had same hitch, the lift rods i need to sort are off a DB 1490. Thank you 👍
