Ian Anderson - Griminelli's Lament and Too Old to Rock n Roll (very short clip from Red Rocks)
มุมมอง 2336 ปีที่แล้ว
A short, wind blown clip from an "Ian Anderson plays Jethro Tull" show at Red Rocks, May of 2017, backed by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. The clip shows the tail end of Griminelli's Lament, followed by the beginning of Too Old to Rock n Roll.

Jethro Tull - Wondring Aloud with String Quartet
มุมมอง 189K8 ปีที่แล้ว
Originally from the "Living in the Past" album, circa 1971, this is a somewhat abbreviated arrangement of "Wondring Aloud" that Ian & co performed in his home with a string quartet, and later released on an audio/video DVD called "Living with the Past". Beautiful tune....also, the youngster you see on drums is none other than Ian's son, James Duncan Anderson, listed on the DVD as James Duncan. ...

Wishbone Ash - Errors of My Way
มุมมอง 9K9 ปีที่แล้ว
From their debut, self titled album way back in 1970, Wishbone Ash were among the first to utilize dual lead guitars. A beautiful melody that builds nicely, this is a somewhat cleaner version of a previously posted song.
Theme for an Imaginary Western with flute - Jack Bruce on piano and vocals, me on the flute.
มุมมอง 1.4K10 ปีที่แล้ว
As a tribute to Jack Bruce, I added some flute to a once beautiful song written by Jack in the early 70s. I'm an amateur flute guy, so please don't be too harsh.
Christmas Celtic - What Child Is This
มุมมอง 6K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Beautiful rendition of a classic Christmas tune, with acoustic guitars, mandolin and flutes
Leo Kottke - A Good Egg

Another gem from Leo Kottke, this one from "Ice Water", called "A Good Egg".
Clapton Unplugged - Tears in Heaven with some flute
มุมมอง 18411 ปีที่แล้ว
Another in my series of "acoustic tune with some flute" (2nd tune ;). I tend to pick up on the melody, so more often than not my flute accompanies the vocals. Just a reminder that I'm quite new at home recording and mixing, so if it sucks that's why...or it could be due to the cheesy mic and software I'm using. I think it turned out reasonably well...on key and tempo anyway. Thanks for listenin...
Pocahontas by Neil Young with flute
มุมมอง 1.2K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Beautiful acoustic tune by Neil Young called Pocahontas from his Unplugged CD. I fool with a flute a bit and added some flute to the song. No formal training, but I have a pretty good ear for the melody of songs I enjoy listening to, which more often than not is the vocals, so if it sounds like I'm playing over the vocals, I am. Still kinda new to the mixing and such, so it's quite possible tha...
IAN ANDERSON... MUSICIAN... SINGER.. SONGWRITER... STORYTELLER... ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED HUMAN BEINGS I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE TO LISTEN TO.. I NEVER GET TIRED OF HIS MUSIC... I SAW HIM THREE TIMES IN THE SEVENTIES, AND I'M STILL LISTENING TO HIM AND LOVING IT
I am glad you uploaded this, as I wanted to share it in a group of music fans. I love this song, it took me some years since i bought Living In The Past, but it was one of the songs i liked the most on it, anyway (I bought it in the early 80's). As time passed by, I've enjoyed it more and more.. This is one of Ian's best short songs, i think... Delicate, at the same tim joyful and melancholy if you read the lyrics. This version is splendid, although the original is hard to surpass .. I wish I had attended a concert where Ian would have performed this one, really... It seems it's never been performed during Tull's concerts or Ian's concerts with orchestra (I attended 2 of those), and it's a real pity. There are little gems on this "Living with the Past" DVD and CD, although there's not a complete concert ...
0:12 Walter white 😂
But it's only that crazy rock & roll right? lol -- me, 67 now -- saw Tull at the tender age of 14 here in L.A. and have been a devoted fan all of these years -- simply amazing and nope -- it has not lost it's magic this song. Simply beautiful.
same!
Thank-you, Ian. One of my favourites. 👍
It's real sin that Jetro Tull is not in the R&R HOF
We change...but the beautiful music, stays the same... " Life's a long song..but the tune ends too soon for us all "
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL TUNE FROM SUCH AN INFURIATING GUY. GET OVER YOURSELF IAN, GET IT TOGETHER WITH MARTIN, DON'T BE LIKE ROGER WATERS!
Best version
Damn, those strings are utterly fantastic!!
Absolute gold! Thanks for sharing ❤️
❤😢
Not only a fenonomal song, But (as in so many other Tullsongs) the arengement are outstanding great.
I really, really want to find this DVD.
A timeless tune. A sheer masterpiece. 🔝🔨👍👌👏🫶✌️
Absolute class😊
Been a fan for over fifty years
What kind of guitar is that, that he's playing? It almost looks like a bass uke.
I love this song. I love Ian's music. I love Tull. However this is the pretentious bullshit I've ever seen.
Had Aqualung in 8 track in my youth. How's that for dating oneself? Wond'Ring aloud was my favorite on the tape. A short interlude of a nicely mellow song. This version here is spot on.
I just posted a cover of this beautiful song. Love you Ian Anderson !
Celestiale
gorgeous
They are coming to Sweden (Uppsala) in September. I've got my tickets already. First time since I listened to Jethro Tull in the 70's in my country Ecuador. AWESOME!!!!!
My favorite song ever. I sing this song everyday while working
Hermoso ❤
The most perfect love song 🎵 ❤
Wow! How beautiful was THAT song? Very! Love Jethro Tull. Mr. Ian Anderson is an srtist. Surrounds himself with other artists. SO GLAD I've gotten to see him live a couple times. I'm from the 70's and saw A LOT of great bands. None were better!
I wish this would go on forever!
Takes you back in time Rocket song
Oui super mon adorable yan
Reste toujours adorable grand monsieur de l histoire
The way it should have been recorded. Sounds great!
Genius
many thanks & a big cheer from the Delta for uploading this masterpiece album - now i can hear Oranges and Apples "anytime" ✌
It's a great sound for my soul to hear these musicians and Ian Anderson this theme too.
I saw Orchestral Tull, Warner Theater, Torrington, CT. It was absolutely wonderful.
It's such a beautiful song.
They will always be the GOAT, imo!!
❤
Wooow ❤
Artrock as his Best. I love Ian Anderson. ❤
Just beautiful......and endless. Love it.
What album did these recordings go on? I love them
It seemed pretty tense in that studio to me…between Ian and the string players…perhaps some harsh words during the rehearsal? Otherwise it’s a beautiful arrangement, especially like how the pianist finds his way in.
Love me some TULLAGE, man!
That was beautiful
Reste toujours adorable et grand monsieur de l histoire musical incroyable
Thanks so much for the upload! Wondring Aloud, Again (full Morgan Version, Steven Wilson stereo remix), which runs a bit over 7 minutes is likely one of the greatest masterpieces ever written, I think. Though this video of the shorter version with a string quartet sounds amazing. Pure, beautiful genius. Ian Anderson must certainly be counted among the most unique & original of artists of all time (at least that I know of). His latest material, 2022's The Zealot Gene and 2023's RökFlöte, also outstanding.
Oh wow, I'm fifteen again; discovering Tull, Floyd, Yes and so many more great bands on WPLR. Thanks Kirby!
Allons!
