only reason to move eller now is to open spots for the youth. Koivunen, Broz, Rutger, Ponomarev are all knocking on the door and with the terrible start, you see a injection of youth helps
Pitt needs to rebuild now..
I think Eller was traded because Nieto coming back and Poulin being called up
We had a good run it’s time to accept it’s rebuilding time
Hi nhl pens
Great to watch as Father Time has caught up.
Man i miss the 15-17 seasons. Pure magic.
As a 2001 baby, best decade ever to be a Pittsburgh sports fan!
Hi
7:29
You may never see a team that good again. That’s why you relish it in the moment and savor the memories. I’ll never forget some of those moments. Honestly makes me emotional
Vivianne Ferry
You just don’t grab and hug another man like that, with that much enthusiasm, if it isn’t special.
😢😢😢😢😢please Pittsburgh come back 2025 Stanley cup 🏆 😢😢😢 Sidney Crosby Malkin- Kris Letang - Anthony Beauviller the islanders yeah and Blake Lizotte king and new players 2025 🙏 ❤
Honestly Shearys goal was planned Tanger literally had the patience to look the defense off and make that pass hes an underappreciated defenseman
Watching this brought tears to me eyes…watching this in 2024 knowing very dark times are ahead for this team makes me miss this even more
He will always be Sid the Kid
All of these games my fav here
The OT winner by Bonino against the Caps gives me goosebumps every time.
I’m not crying. You are.
Like yesterday! Awesome moments! 😊
Man I loved these Penguins years 😍
Watching this in 2024 makes me so sad. Those back to back cup teams were really special. Such a great group of guys on and off the ice. It just doesn’t feel the same now, especially after losing Jake too
1:50 god I miss flurry
1:06 underrated. I didn’t really think about it til I watched it but with hindsight being 20/20 you put us down 2-0 I doubt we even have a chance at that series so that win was absolutely fucking massive imo like on par with game 7 senators in crucial 🤷♂️
Great video! Great memories! The HBK line was fantastic! Rust. Fleury. Hornqvist. Love my Pens win or lose.
Watching this as we miss the playoffs for the second year in a row. Man I miss that back to back run
Kunitz and Hornqvist were EVERYTHING
Yeah
Lets go penguins!
I miss it so much
I love it 🧡🖤🤍🐧🐧🐧
The Kunitz double OT game 7 goal has to be number 1. I was at that game and that was the first time Consol Energy Center was as loud as the Igloo playoffs. It was deafening inside and the mayhem in the streets as we all poured out was electric. Easy number 1 for me.
I miss this team soooo much. Great video.
So happy I got to witness 4 cup runs and 3 cup wins during my childhood. Gotta go back and watch these every now and then
How about parking karlson top left ovi hash. Same spot ovi is. Karlsson has the best shot. Right hand as ovi is. I do like Tanger and karlson together. Right Right sets up this ovi 1 timer. Get malkin in front of the net why is he always playing hash or point? Just dumb. He needs to be in front. Crosby staying put and have.
Because there are so many big guns on the PP they won’t make plays individually
Not a Pens fan...But really enjoyed your analysis and decided to Subscribe. Hopeless yall won't mind having a Habs fan here😅
It’s the same old Penguins.
i feel like sully has to go. He is trying the same schemes trying to get the same play out of 5871 from 5 years ago. Issue is whether we want to admit it or not those guys aren't the players they once were they arent fast or physical so why keep trying to get that fast phsical play out of them? Gotta adapt to what skills they STILL have not what they DID have
just warming up, will be fine. 😅
I will say I love Sully but I unfortunately in sports coaches seem to have a shelf life or reach a point where their voice doesn’t carry the same weight as it did before.
It’s honestly hard to really pin point why this is a problem year after year. It’s so frustrating but really I think the team as a whole just seems broken. Mentally too they just don’t seem to be great with responding well anymore when things in a game go wrong. Idk it’s really hard to say.
Man I was right in the stands right behind the net for the Kunitz goal against the sens, my first game. Never going to forget that
Matt Murray had an amazing performance against Nashville
This makes me miss Doc Emrick, Bob Cole & Jim Hughson.
the goal against ottawa in ot was the most important of the decade
Watching this... Chris Kunitz = unsung hero! He was involved in so many huge plays over the years.
Hinostroza (13 goals in only 62 games in 21-22, Nieto (11 even strength goals last season), Pitlick (15 goals/37 Pts in 66 games in 21-22) wow massive talent upgrade for bottom 6. Malkin is such a beast on the PP (36 PPP last season)...I can see him getting 45+ with EK....also Crosby only high 20's in PPP....should go way up...high 30s at least. Reilly Smith 26 G 56 Pts on a very bad offensive team (Vegas) last season. Pens potentially could have 7 guys pot 30+ goals (Crosby, Malkin, Rakell, Smith, Guentzel, EK, Rust)
I didn't mind jan rutta. He did his job. Clear the crease. My worry is the penguins have one defenseman with ability to clear crease in front of jarry. All in all, im happy with the trade. Karlsson will improve the pp and the offense side of game
I agree. I think Rutta is the only player they lost that they'll miss. They'll need to find a replacement, but I think they can. They have some cap space too now.
