মাতা পিতামহ ক্রমে বঙ্গেত বসতি। দেশী ভাষা উপদেশ মনে হিত অতি॥ মায়ের ভাষার জন্য রক্ত ও প্রাণদানের ইতিহাস জ্বলজ্বল করছে। বিশ্বের বুকে এই অনন্য ইতিহাস রচনা করেছে বাংলাদেশ। পলাশ-শিমুল ফোটার দিনে তাইতো মন গেয়ে উঠে- আমার ভাইয়ের রক্তে রাঙানো একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারি, আমি কি ভুলিতে পারি? হিমাঙ্কের নীচে ২৫/৩০/৪০ ডিগ্রি সেলসিয়াস তাপমাত্রায় খোলা আকাশের নীচে দাঁড়িয়ে অস্থায়ী শহীদ মিনার তৈরি কতটা ভয়ানক ছিলো সেটা অনুভব করা যে কারো জন্যই কঠিন। কিন্তু বাংলার দামাল ছেলে-মেয়েরা প্রতি বছর তা করেছে এক দশকের বেশি সময় ধরে। গত ছয় বছর ধরে আমিও নিবেদিত কর্মী ছিলাম। মাতৃভাষা বাংলা এবং মাতৃভূমি বাংলার প্রতি অপরিসীম শ্রদ্ধা থেকেই আমরা নিষ্ঠার সাথে এ কাজগুলো করেছি। সাসকাটুনে শহীদ মিনার আমাদের দীর্ঘদিনের দাবি ছিলো। বলতে গেলে বিকাসের সূচনালগ্ন থেকেই এ দাবির সূত্রপাত। সকল ভাষা শহীদ ও ভাষা সৈনিক এবং শুরু থেকে এখন পর্যন্ত যাঁরা সাসকাটুনে শহীদ মিনার নির্মাণের জন্য কাজ করেছেন সবাইকে শ্রদ্ধা ভরে স্মরণ করছি। বিউটিলেভেন তথা আপনাকে ধন্যবাদ এমন স্মরণীয় মুহূর্ত ধারণ করার জন্য।
